• Front Receiver Hitch for a 1989 Chevy K1500 (4x4)
  We have a couple of options for front mount hitches that will fit your 1989 Chevy K1500. First we have # 65005. With this hitch drilling is required for installation but it costs less than the other option. That other option is Curt hitch # 31042 which does not require drilling. Either hitch is rated for 9,000 pounds line pull and 500 pounds vertical load (tongue weight). I have included links to the installation instructions for both hitches for you.

  Hi Brett! The Curt # 31108 and the Draw-Tite # 65028 are very similar to each other. Both will indeed fit your 204 Chevy Silverado 2500HD and install the exact same way. The only appreciable difference between them is where they are made. The Curt is made in the US (though they use hardware from overseas) and the Draw-Tite is not. Other than that, they are identical. That would likely explain the difference in the price. What are you wanting to use a front hitch for?

  Both the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch item # 31108 and the Draw-Tite item # 65028 are confirmed to fit the 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500's.   Unfortunately, the frame with isn't the only consideration. According to Draw-Tite, the differences in the way the front bumper, fascia and grill are situated in regard to the front of the frame members on a 2007 Classic versus a 2007 New Body will prevent the # 65050 from being installed on a 2007 GMC Sierra Classic without extensive modification to the vehicle.   The 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic 2500 requires a different front mount trailer hitch. From Curt, you can use # 31108. I spoke with my contact at Curt and from the bottom of the frame rail to the bottom of the receiver on the hitch once installed is 5 inches. • Front Hitch Option for 2005 Chevy Silverado 3500
  Due to the design of the front of your 2005 Chevy Silverado 3500 the only place you'll be able to have a front hitch opening is below the front fascia like where the Curt # 31108 installs. This would be best option we have, but if you really needed something that sits higher you'd probably need to find a fabricator who would be willing to modify the front fascia of your truck and see if they could install one higher.

  The only real difference between the Curt # 31108 and Draw-Tite # 65028 front hitches for your 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 is that we've found the Curt hitches to traditionally have a little thicker of a powder coat which means they are a little better protected against the elements as well as scratches. Because of this I recommend the Curt over the Draw-Tite. Aside from that these hitches will install the exact same way and have the same weight capacities so it's just two different manufacturers...

  Often a permanently-installed snow plow mount (rather than a removable hitch-mount plow like those shown on the linked page) will use the same installation points as a front-mount hitch receiver.   Although the hitches look very similar, the # 31109 is for the 2nd gen 2008 Silverado like your friend's, and the # 31108 if a fit for the 1st gen, like your 2002 model. The two hitches are very similar, but the # 31109 would sit 2 inches lower on your truck than the proper fitting # 31108 would.   The Curt # 31108 and Draw-Tite # 65028 are very similar and will even install the same on your 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. They also have the same weight capacity ratings of 500lbs tongue weight, 5,000lbs trailer weight and 9,000LB line pull. The only difference worth noting is the Curt is assembled in the USA. With that said I feel like the Curt is going to have the better quality.

  The Draw-Tite front mount hitch # 65028 and the Curt Front Hitch # 31108 are very similar, but they are not the same hitch. This was not intentional, the manufacturers just so happened to come up with very similar designs for the hitch coincidentally. Since both hitches are so similar and have the same capacities I would not be able to recommend one over the other as both would work very well for you.   The correct front mounted receiver for your 2004 Silverado 1500 will depend on whether its a 1500LD or a 1500HD model. How can you tell which one you have? It's very simple. If it's an HD model, the front driver and passenger side doors will have a 1500HD badge on them. If it's an LD model, there will be no badges. For the HD model, I'd recommend the Curt # 31108.
