Quality parts and service
Hitch was easy to install and looks great. Received it very fast and they have online videos for your model for installation Great product and company.
Build quality seems to be good and powder coating was good. Shopping was fast as well.
Two day shipping. Easy install in less than an hour. Competitive price as well.
Great fit and fairly easy to install (using substandard ratchets and wrenches). Very stout and excellent finish!
Was fantastic to installVery simple and straight-forward. Taking the tow hook off is a bit of an ordeal though. A previous user mentioned having to take theirs to a tire shop. I ended up using a break-over bar that I bought for $10 at a hardware store, did the job great!
After that, the install was a snap. I did not have to take the exhaust off. To install the side where the exhaust is you will need a set of wrenches and a socket wrench will not fit.
Not easy to install at allThe product works great but the installation is a mess. 1st you will need to take your 4Runner to a tire place to have the bolts removed for the towing hooks underneath. Then you have to drop the exhaust pipe in order to install the passenger side bolts for the hitch. It will take longer than 40 minutes rest assured.
Fit well!I put this on my 4Runner. It fit well. I had to use a wire brush to clean out the rust on the frame welded nuts, but once that was done this hitch went on quickly. Also, I had to remove the trailer power-connector flange.
Product and instructions were exactly as I expected. It took about an hour to actually install the hitch. Removing the existing tow hook was the most time consuming (bolt was overtightened). It takes two people to hold the hitch in place and mount. Once installed I've attached by bike rack with no problems.
Great product
Very happy with this purchase. We had no problems installing this hitch on my 2008 4Runner. Other customers were complaining about having trouble removing the toe hooks, but with a squirt of WD-40 and some muscle, ours popped right off. Only trouble was my muffler getting in the way, but a pry bar and my skinny fingers did the trick. (If you are a mechanic and know your tools, this will be be a piece of cake...shouldn't take you more than 15 min.)
Arrived in a very timely manner in good shape. Easy install with instructions. I chose not to drop the exhaust as you can get the bolts in easy enough with it on. For the factory seven way plug and bracket i just bent it back and it works great. I have ordered through etrailer before and will do it again in the future ! thanks guys

I purchased this to mount on a 2009 4Runner for use with a bicycle hitch rack. It was very easy to install. Installation took about 45 minutes (with a 14 yr old helping). I did not have to move or drop the muffler; instead, I used a flat wrench to work around the muffler. The most difficult part of the install was removing the tow hook from the 4Runner prior to getting started.
Once installed, the hitch sticks out about 3 inches past the bumper. I was not expecting it to stick out this much, but it seems like a necessary part of the design due to where the tire is mounted.
Very happy with purchase of this trailer hitch. Installed onto my 2008 Toyota 4Runner 2wd SR5 4.0 with no difficulties at all by myself. I recommend a second person to help lift the other side and to speed up the installation time but it’s possible with one man. 8 bolts, half inch drive, 19mm and 13mm sockets are all that is needed. Estimated novice time is 50 minutes and that is exactly what it took me. No cutting of fascia necessary. However, I did have to unhook the rubber latch on the tail pipe to get the passenger side bolts in (super easy and no problem to do). Two day shipping as promised straight to the front door. Highly recommend etrailer and this hitch receiver.
I can't be any more satisfied with both the service and product I recieved from etrailer. My hitch arrived exactly when they said it would and was very easy to install. I had it on and ready to go within 30 minutes with no help necessary. Thanks again for the excellent service!
The products were all excellent. The reason I purchase from etrailer is that all the products I have purchased have detailed explanations of how to use them. All my questions were answered before I asked them. The online info. is a big plus (these guys know their stuff).
Easy to attach and a good fit to vehicle frame. The hitch does slightly come into contact with the lower fascia trim but shouldn't be a problem.
Fast, tracked shipment from etrailer. Thanks, George.
My hitch arrived as scheduled. Put it on just as easy. Plan on putting it to use hauling my Harley. Everything bolted rite up no problem.
Easy install I am 73 yrs old and did the complete install alone. I would highly recommend this hitch to anyone
etrailer delivered the product within a few days as promised. I installed the trailer hitch onto a 2008 Toyota 4Runner within about 1 hour. The most difficult part was removing the tow hook that was on the vehicle. I soaked the bolts with WD40 and let it sit for a day. Then needed to use a breaker bar to get the bolts free. I also sprayed all the bolt holes with WD40 and cleaned them with a wire brush so the new bolts would go in easier. Be sure and insert the new bolts about a quarter of the way in before installing the hitch just to be sure they will thread in easy. If you can do the prep work ahead of time installation will go pretty quick.

Product working out great.
The receiver hitch was installed on a 2003 4Runner so a weight distribution set could be used; it replaced the factory hitch.
The price was great, installation was done at a local shop and I finished adding the 7-pin power socket.
The only thing that would have been better is if a power socket fitting was included with the hitch,
No complaints about the hitch.

There have been no problems with the hitch. The hitch levels the 4Runner and maintains good wheel contact on the road.

After a year I have had no problems towing my 6x10 cargo trailer or my tent trailer. Infact it still has no scratches even where the hitch slides in. Thanks for a quality product. Tyler
