It is a little more complicated than just bolting the hitch onto a 2005 Chevy Silverado. The vehicle requires a combination of regular bolts to thread into weldnuts inside the truck frame (one on each side) and carriage bolts and blocks that will drop down from inside the frame rails so the threads are pointed down. To further complicate it, some aftermarket hitches reuse existing hardware on the truck and others use replacement hardware.
What you need is the proper hardware kit for the hitch. For that I would need to know the hitch make and model. If it is a factory hitch then I cannot recommend a hardware kit because the OEM hitches might install differently.
If it is an aftermarket hitch from Curt, Da'lan, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, or Reese then you can order # RHK, enter the hitch number and choose the correct manufacturer to get the right kit. Also once I know the hitch number I can link you to the proper instructions that will include the torque specs for that hitch.
