Question:
I have a 2007 4 runner that currently has no hitch. Does installation involve cutting trim and does it just fit over spare tire? Thanks

According to the Installation instructions for Curt Trailer Hitch, # 13445, there is no trimming involved and the hitch fits around the spare tire. The only note is if the vehicle has a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector, it will need to be relocated using a mounting bracket like # PK12711U.
If you plan on doing some towing, the recommended ball mount is # D-4 and you can use pin and clip # PC3. For a ball, you can use # 19260 (1-7/8 inch diameter), # 19247 (2 inch diameter), or # 63847 (2-5/16 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, use Upgraded Circuit Protected Taillight Converter, # 119178KIT. I have included a link to the installation instructions for the hitch and a video showing a typical installation of the wiring harness.
