Question:

I need a bolt-on hitch receiver for my 2006 Lexus GX470. I noticed your part number C13043 only fits 2010-2016 GX460. I need one like this that fits the 2006 GX470. I will only be towing a lightweight trailer with total load of less than 1,000 lbs. Can you give me a part number for this? Thanks.

Your 2006 Lexus GX 470 is part of this vehicle's first generation, which ran through 2009. Model years 2010 and later are the second generation and differences in the frame structure are what require different hitch fits. Curt hitch # C13043 that you referenced only fits the second generation model years starting with 2010.

For your 2006 GX 470 you can use any of the 2-inch Class III hitches shown on the linked page. All of these frame-mount hitches install without drilling, include the required hardware and offer a tongue weight (TW) capacity of at least 500-lbs. Basic tools are required for installation (they are listed in the instructions) and the only special tool needed is a torque wrench like # ALL944001 which you need to secure the fasteners to the specs noted in the instructions. For your application I suggest the Curt # 13445 as it will save you some money and still have plenty of capacity.

For a wiring harness use part # C59236 if you do NOT have the tow package or part # 20137 if you DO have the tow package. For a ball mount use # D-3 and a Hitch Pin and Clip item # PC3. The linked article and ball mount page will help you select the right one.

Then all you need is a hitch ball, either 1-7/8-inch # 19260 or 2-inch ball # 63845.
