Installation

Installation Step 1

1. Spread the chain around the back of the tire.

Installation Step 2

2. Connect the yellow and blue cable at the back of the tire.

Installation Step 3

3. Push the cable into place behind the tire and center the cross chains on the tire's tread. Then, on the front side of the tire, join the 2 ends of the yellow side chain using the green hook.

Installation Step 4

4. Feed the silver draw chain with the rubber tensioner through the red channel at the bottom and pull it tight. Then run the tensioner through the red rings. (Note: Depending on your tire size, you might not be able to thread through both rings.) Pull the tensioner across the tire and fasten it to the yellow chain on the opposite side.

Installation Step 5

5. Pull your vehicle forward and retighten the chain.

Class "S" Designation

SAE Class "S" tire chains are designed for use on vehicles with restricted wheel well clearance. Certain newer cars, vans and small trucks, especially those with large, aftermarket tires, may require Class "S" chains.

SAE Class S Clearances

These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:

  • A - a minimum of 1.46" (37 mm) between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well
  • B - at least 0.59" (15 mm) between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle itself.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

  • Snow Chain Recommendation for 2019 Thor Chateau 23U with Tire Size 225/75-16
For your 2019 Thor Chateau with the tire size 225/75-16 I would go with the Titan chains part # TC2319. These are easier to install, provide great traction, and are priced great so they would be the best all around solution for an emergency situation. Some people like to use cables for this application but they are harder to install, not much cheaper, and you only typically get one use out of them before they need to be replaced.

The best tire chains for your car trailer are going to be the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains item # TC2319. These are confirmed to fit a St 235/80R16 tire. I like these chains because they are easy to install and provide great traction. I have linked an installation and review video below.

Our range of tire chains for each size is displayed on the two linked pages. Some chains are made for on-road use, others off-road. Some can be used in both types of applications. • Do the # TC2319 Tire Chains Fit My 235/60-18 Tires on My 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid?
While the Titan Chains # TC2319 fit a 235/60-18 tire size on your 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, it is important that you have the required wheel well clearance on your vehicle to safely use the chains. This is important because if you do not have enough clearance, this can cause damage to components in your wheel wells. With the # TC2319, you need a minimum of 1.46" (37 mm) between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well and at least 0.59" (15 mm) between the tire's sidewall and the...

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for a 2007 Ford E-350 Van
The chain link thickness is the difference between tire chains # TC2319 and # TC2519. The smaller TC2319 has 3.7mm links whereas the TC2519 has 5.5mm links. I checked the owner's manual for the 2007 Ford E-350 and it does require the use of Class S chains. The TC2319 chains are Class S but the TC2519 chains are not. So between the two I would go with # TC2319 if your van has 225/75-16 tires. If you have a different tire size let me know.

Thank you for all of the information! The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2319 will be a great fit for the 235/60R18 tires on your 2020 Chrysler Pacifica. They are Class S compatible which means they are designed for low clearance situations like what you have for your vehicle. According to the online owner's manual for your vehicle the chains must be installed on the front tires only. I recommend verifying this in your copy of the owner's manual. • Class S Tire Chains Under 10mm Tall for a 2016 Ford Explorer XLT
On some vehicles like your 2016 Ford Explorer the tire chain size does matter. Like you said, Class S chains are needed when there is limited clearance. • Snow Tire Chain Recommendation For 235/75-15 Tires on Trailer
We can get your trailer with 235/75-15 tires set up with snow tire chains, and since you mentioned cables, I'll start there. You said you wanted good units, but cables are honestly never good. They are mostly one-time, emergency use only, so if you just want something to say you have a traction device on hand, or single use, go with the Titan Chain Diagonal Alloy Cable Snow Tire Chains # TC729DC.
