  • Available 2-5/16-Inch Hitch Balls
We offer many 2-5/16-inch hitch balls that you can see by clicking on the included link. First, you will want to select the required shank diameter to match the hole size on your ball mount. The 2-5/16-inch hitch balls we carry come in the following shank diameters: 1-inch 1-1/4-inch 1-3/8-inch 1-1/2-inch 2-inch You also need to select a ball with the appropriate length of shank so that it will fit your ball mount and allow enough room to install the lock washer and nut. • How Wide is Curt Forged Ball Mount 45456 at the Ball Platform
I went out to the warehouse and pulled Curt forged ball mount # C45456 to measure it for you. The width at the platform is 3-1/16 inches wide. And in case you were curious, the platform is 1 inch thick.

  • Recommended 2-5/16 Inch Hitch Ball and Ball Mount for 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Receiver
The Curt Forged Ball Mount for 2-1/2 Inch Hitches # C45456 referenced in your question represents the highest capacity ball mount we currently have available that will fit your 2-1/2 inch hitch receiver. As you mentioned, this particular unit has a maximum trailer weight capacity of 20,000 pounds. It is compatible with the 1-1/4 inch shank on the B&W 2-5/16 Inch Hitch Ball # BWHB94004 that you referenced. When used together, you will just need to follow the lower 20,000 pound capacity on...

  • Recommended Options for 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Ball Mount and Rock Tamers Mud Flaps
The Curt # C45456 has a length of 8-1/2" from center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole. To allow you to us the Rock Tamers you have, I recommend the Gen-Y 2-Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitches # 325-GH-064 which has a 9-1/2 inch center to center measurement but has a different shape to allow for the better fit. I don't know if your Rocktamers will fit with the extra 1 inch with the different shape or not, but wanted you to have all your options. The Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender...

  • Adjustable 2-1/2-Inch Class V Ball Mount
If the top of your hitch ball is about an inch different in height than the top of your coupler this is actually okay. You are 100% correct that it is important to have your hitched trailer level, but starting out with the hitch ball very slightly higher or lower is not a concern. You do not see many fixed ball mounts with 1-inch or rise or drop for this reason. If you wish you can use an adjustable Class V 2-1/2-inch ball mount like # FA49-00-5625.

  • Is there a Ball Mount Larger than a Class V 2-1/2 Inch
If your hitch receiver opening is larger than 2-1/2 inches then the next step up is a 3 inch if you are talking about physical size and not capacity. The 3 inch ball mount you need is # 40701 if this is the case. The hitch ball to fit is # C40085. This is not a common size though so I do recommend verifying the size of the receiver opening on the hitch. I have also included a link to our ball mount main page. If you mean capacity then the highest capacity 2-1/2 inch ball mount that we...

  • High Capacity Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2008 Ford F-250 for Heavy Boat Trailer
For a trailer hitch with more towing capacity than you'd need the Curt hitch part # C15810 would be an excellent option. This hitch as towing capacities of 20,000 lbs which would work well for you. As long as you are sure you under the truck's capacity still this would allow you to tow your trailer. You should note that this is a 2-1/2 inch hitch so you may need a compatible ball mount like with part # C45456 which also has a 20k capacity. For a hitch ball you'd then want the part # 63840...

  • Installation Instructions for Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C15704 for a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500
We do have the installation instructions available for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C15704. They can be found on the product page, next to a little picture of a wrench. But I have also included a link to the instructions below. Just a few additional tips I can offer. Installation of this hitch requires temporary removal of the bumper during installation. It will fit with a full sized spare tire stowed under vehicle, as long as it is the factory spare. If your 2007 Dodge Ram 3500...

  • Will Curt 2-1/2 Inch Ball Mount Fit a Factory 2-1/2 Inch Trailer Hitch on a 2010 Ford F-450
The issue with the Ford factory 2-1/2 inch receiver is that the radius of the rounded corners is different than the radius of the rounded corners on the Titan shank you mentioned and possibly other ball mounts. We have not had any complaints about fit with the Curt ball mount # C45456. So on the off chance that there was a slight issue you could sand off some of the powdercoating on the ball mount shank, not any of the metal, and that will help it fit.

  • How Much Does the Curt Forged Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitches # C45456 Weigh
The Curt Forged Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitches # C45456 has a shipping weight of 16 lbs. If you take away a few pounds for the shipping materials that leaves you with about 13 lbs - 14 lbs for the ball mount itself.

  • What Finish is on the Commercial Duty Curt Forged Ball Mount # 45456?
The Curt Forged Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitches - 1/2" Rise - 2" Drop - 20,000 lbs # C45456 does have a more matte black finish to it. Curt calls it Carbide Black and use it on many of their products. Just like other powder coat finishes, it is corrosion-resistant.

  • Recommended Hitch Pin to Work with Curt Forged Ball Mount
We have hitch pins to work with the Curt Forged Ball Mount, part # C45456, however it doesn't include one. I recommend the Curt Pin and Clip, part # C21510, for a standard pin, or even better, part # e98881 for a locking pin. If you also need a compatible hitch ball use part # 63840.

The Buyers Products Black Receiver Tube 2" I.D. x 6" Long Welded To 1/2" Mounting Plate # 3371804055 would work as a replacement but won't allow you to use the trailer you are seeking to use due to the height unless you use a drop ball mount like the Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 7" Rise, 8" Drop - 9-1/2" Long - 12,000 lbs # 4283. Then you can use the Pin and Clip # PC3 and hitch ball # 19286. If you want a higher towing capacity overall when you include the other components, then...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2014 Ford F250 with 2-1/2 inch Hitch
Originally, because the radius at the inside corners of the Ford OEM hitches were more rounded than usual, getting aftermarket hitch accessories that would fit was a problem. Ballmounts could be altered to fit by sanding off the powder coat at the corners. In the meanwhile, Reese has altered the design of the ball mount slightly by rounding the shank edges so that it will be compatible with the Ford OEM 2-1/2 inch receivers. I have confirmed this with Reese. The # RP45323 ballmount should...

No problem whatsoever, as there do seem to be quite a few 1's and 2's in the product description for the Curt Forged Ball Mount # C45456. It has a weight capacity of 20,000 lbs and fits in 2-1/2 inch trailer hitch receivers. It will also give you either 1/2 inch of drop or 2 inches of rise. It also has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 2,700 lbs and will accept a hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch diameter shank such as # 63840. • Selecting a Ball Mount for Use with Curt 2-5/16-Inch Hitch Ball # C40087
The Curt 2-5/16-Inch Hitch Ball with 2-Inch Rise # C40087 requires a ball mount with a ball platform that is at least 3/8-inches thick and that has a 1-1/4-inch ball hole. A ball mount that fits this requirement is the Curt # C45456 that fits into 2-1/2-inch hitches. If you need a 2-5/16-inch hitch ball and the ability to raise the height of the hitch ball relative to the trailer coupler you can go about this in another way. You can get the height increase you need from an adjustable ball...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with 2-1/2 inch Hitch
I have a solution for you, but the Diversi Tech Ball Mount part # DTLBM8200 is designed to fit 2 inch hitches so it wouldn't work for your truck that has a 2-1/2 inch hitch. For a ball mount confirmed to fit your hitch size with the same amount of drop (2 inches), you would want the Curt Forged Ball Mount part # C45456. This ball mount has a 20k capacity which would be way more than you would need. For a 2-5/16 inch ball you would want part # 63840.

  • Will Curt Class V Trailer hitch C15860 Fit a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD
I checked with Curt and hitch # C15860 is listed in their application guide as a fit for your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500. The application guide is not the same as the fit guide. The application guide is more up to date and updated frequently. The fit guide on the other hand takes some time to catch up. I have linked a video showing an example installation of this hitch for you. The recommended ball mount for this hitch is # C45456. It takes a ball with a 1-1/4 inch diameter shank such as # 63840.

  • Can Curt Forged Ball Mount be Used in Either Rise or Drop Position
Yes, the Curt Forged Ball Mount, part # C45456, can be used in either the rise or drop position. It provides either a 1/2 inch of rise or 2 inches of drop. I've linked an article to help you determine the amount of rise or drop you need to see if this Curt will work for you. If you also need a hitch ball use part # 63840. A locking hitch pin, like part # e98881, isn't a bad idea either.
