Question:

I will be buying a Dodge Promaster Class B motorhome. It has LT 225/75R16E tires. Are the Glacier Cable Snow Tire chains PW1042 the correct cables for these tires?

According to the fit guide, the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains # PW1042 will fit a tire size of 225/75-R16.The Glacier cables can be used on either front or rear-wheel-drive vehicles. The cable and roller design of the chains allows more clearance between the wheel and the wheel well of the vehicle.

It is recommended that you also purchase the Glacier Multi-Arm Rubber Adjusters # PW105 with Glacier's cable chains. These rubber adjusters make it easier to fit and tighten the Glacier tire chains to the wheel of your vehicle. These adjusters are designed to fit the chains that fit on a light trick application.

For your vehicle, I recommend the Titan Diamond Pattern Snow Tire Chains # TC2319. These are a low profile tire chain that are designed for light truck use. These chains also have a diamond-pattern the offers more tire coverage that will give you increased traction over the cable design of the Glacier chains.

Both the Titan and Glacier chains are SAE Class S rated tire snow chains. The Class S rating means the both these chains are designed with a low profile to allow clearance between the wheel and the wheel well of your vehicle. Newer vehicles with the larger wheel diameters have clearance problems with using the traditional snow chains. The Class S chains were designed to eliminate the clearance problems when using tire chains with the larger wheel diameters.
