Installation Step 2

2. Connect the yellow and blue cable at the back of the tire.

Installation Step 3

3. Push the cable into place behind the tire and center the cross chains on the tire's tread. Then, on the front side of the tire, join the 2 ends of the yellow side chain using the green hook.

Installation Step 4

4. Feed the silver draw chain with the rubber tensioner through the red channel at the bottom and pull it tight. Then run the tensioner through the red rings. (Note: Depending on your tire size, you might not be able to thread through both rings.) Pull the tensioner across the tire and fasten it to the yellow chain on the opposite side.

Installation Step 5

5. Pull your vehicle forward and retighten the chain.

Class "S" Designation

SAE Class "S" tire chains are designed for use on vehicles with restricted wheel well clearance. Certain newer cars, vans and small trucks, especially those with large, aftermarket tires, may require Class "S" chains.

SAE Class S Clearances

These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:

  • A - a minimum of 1.46" (37 mm) between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well
  • B - at least 0.59" (15 mm) between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle itself.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

I woke to an unusual 7- 12 in's. of wet heavy snow... Power out all over and needed to help friends get winter storm supplies, cooking stove propane, water, ice for coolers etc... After going over the Sierra's about a year previously with my son in a different vehicle and having to chain up, I got to see how relatively easy they went on and how they got us over the mountain. I live in the valley so this kind of purchase was something I thought would only come in handy in mountain travel something I usually wouldn't do. I decided to purchase a set of Titan Alloy Snow Tire Chains and adjusters just to be prepared as you never know what’s coming... I'm glad I made the purchase! Maneuvering around in the approx. 8 inches was simple and when I needed to go through deeper piles they got me there without a problem. Grown up in a snow country and having put on traditional chains these were so less complicated to install. Driving below or no more than the recommended speed made drive in a difficult situation easier.

I totally enjoy this snow chains... First of all the price is great... Second the case for the chains are totally awesome it has some much room that you can put more stuffs in it like working gloves and knee pads for travel in the snow again... Third the colors on the chains and the instructions were so simple that all it took me to watch the video demonstration and kazame ..! I am on it... Fourth the time it took me to put it on we're so fast that I timed myself on the first try... Less than 6 minutes and I wasn't even trying because it was that simple... I loved this design of putting on the snow chains that I bought two cases of it so that my family could use it too... I had bought others in the past and it was too difficult due to required when putting it on... Like lasy weekend I use it in the south Lake Tahoe for my family vacation and when I actually excited to use it to show my wife this is a great product to invest in but she just said, "it is still the same as other as she could see." Oh man, can't wait to prove her wrong... As we reach to the area where snow chains are require, I was saying to myself now watch your hubby be back in the flash... I told her to look at the other drivers that were there sometime before me that were trying to put on some Walmart brands (wire/chain) snow chains and as I got out of the car...once I Open the case with all the extra stuffs I put in like gloves and knee pads; the snow chains were on like in 10 minutes and when I got back in the car... My wife said, "what..?" She was in shock of how fast and quick that on her face the expression of are you sure you put it on at all... Cause the other drivers are still trying to communicate with their wives to driving forward over the chains and turn the tires outward blah blah... I said, "yep, I did." From that point on my wife never question me about the chain ... And yes we reach to Lake Tahoe safely and especially in great time too... Thanks for making this wonderfully simple and yet strong design snow chains... Peter -ca 12/1/2016 Thursday

So far so good. Received my tire chains this afternoon and put them on my 2014 Ford van in my driveway. No snow yet but they went on easy enough so I am confident that when the snow does arrive I'll be good to go. Was very pleased to have them arrive two days after I ordered them.

Purchased the tire chains for a trip last year to Colorado in late December. I did not have to use them but had them just in case. Practiced putting them on a couple of times before the trip. Easy to install. They appear to be well made. Will not use them much in south Louisiana. Thanks.

I ordered the TC2323 , but after they came I decided to try and put one on, but it didn’t go on, way to small, so I called the 800 number and talked to a fantastic lady who was able to help me, and told me I needed the TC2327, so she sent me a UPS return label, and she ordered the right one for me and is having them sent out , and I took the others down with the return label and dropped off at the UPS center, then after they received them , they will credit me back for them, but she was so helpful and nice, this company is fantastic to work with, and would definitely buy from them again, Thanks etrailer

These chains are relatively easy to install for someone unexperienced like me, especially on a warm, dry fall day. It would be a good idea to have some utility clothes stashed with the chains for when the time comes to mount these in sloppy conditions... I look forward to testing the performance this winter.

The chains are fairly easy to install and remove. I've used them several times over the last year and it appears they have stretched with use. These are the suggested size for my 2018 Tacoma with 245/75/16 tires but they aren't as tight as I feel they should be. For the next installation a slight modification might be required to make sure they are as secure as I think they should be.

I bought these tire chains just in case it was snowing the day of my daughter's wedding in Incline Village, NV in mid November. I drove trucks for 37 years and decided long ago it is better to have chains and not use them as opposed needing them and not having them. etrailer sent me the right product in a timely manner. They fit my car and are easy to install (tried them on in the driveway to understand installation rather than learning in cold, wet snow). I did not have to use them for the wedding but think they would perform well for my driving. I like the minimal clearance necessary for installation to save beating up my car!

I was recently (February 2019) in the Lake Tahoe / Mammoth Mountain areas. I'm 52 years old and I was traveling alone. I used these chains multiple times during my trip. Even in 5 or so inches of snow with icy conditions, I had no problem installing them and removing them. I shortened the Tensioner chain a couple of links to tighten them up. Other that that, no adjustments were needed. I am so glad you can install them without having to drive on them first. I had no need for anyone to help me. I recommend them!! Especially if you're alone.

Good chains. Went on really fast. I really like the carrying case that they came in. They didn't seem too snug and made a lot of noise on the road at 25 mph. Stopped a few times to check if everything was ok... They were fine. The rubber tightener wasn't that tight and I was afraid that it might come off. It didn't. Ultimately everything was fine and the chains are really good quality. Shipping was good. Less than a week. I like the tracking feature. My friend was using new cables and they looked pretty raggedy when we arrived at the ski resort. Mine still looked good. Pretty sure these are going to last a while.

Great purchase. Fit my P245/75-R16 stock tires perfectly for my 2016 Tacoma. Although I did not have to use them on my trip, they came with a great storage bag and picture instructions that I keep stored in my truck so I never forget them. I had asked about the best chains for my truck and tire size and these were recommended to me. Would recommend to others in similar situation. If unsure ask an expert on the etrailer website! Quick response!

Picked a set of snow/ice chains that fits my front wheel drive car. I ordered the chains and it was delivered a couple days earlier than expected. I have bought from etrailer several times before and have never had any problems with them. Will order from them always.

Just purchased these. Easy to put on and take off. Have not had to use these yet but wanted a set of chains in my 2 WD truck. I like the way these install on my tires, very easy. I’m concerned about the durability of the rubber chain fastener! Will it hold up over time? That is why I bought a couple of spares. Also noticed that after installation of the chains, felt that I still could not get as tight on the wheel as it should be. The fastener is only hooked on and had a concern that it could possibly become unhooked during use. Once hooked on, some mechanical fastener would make me feel a little more secure (snap hook or something?). Will see what happens after first use.

I received the tire chains (TC2323) as promised. On time! Wonderful. I installed the chains to test the fit only in my garage. Installed very easy and appear to be correct. I have not tested using on snow or icy roads so I can't review how they perform or how well they hold up to 'normal' usage. I wasn't able to test the 'adjusting' that needs to be done once chain has been installed. Once I do some mountain driving and use them once I will return with a follow-up review. At this time I rated 4 stars for delivery, correct product and for ease of installation.

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for Tire Size 245/75-16 for Rental Van
For your tire size of 245/75R16 I'd recommend the Titan Tire Chains part # TC2323. These will provide you great traction in the snow, will get you past checkpoints, are easy to install, and are pretty inexpensive as well. Ideally you run them on the front and back axles, but at the very least you'd need to run them on the back axle.

  • Recommended Tire Chains for a 2015 Mercedes Benz ML400 with Continental M+S 265/45R20 Tires
One of my favorite tire chains is the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Pro Snow Tire Chains # TH04115265. These are confirmed to fit the size 265/45R20 tires on your 2015 Mercedes Benz ML400 and feature D links in a diamond pattern for superior traction. These are some of the easiest tire chains to put on due to the locking pedal mechanism. Here are the instructions: 1. Open the rigid arch section of the chain and pull the sides apart. 2. Drape the chain over the top of the tire and tug...

  • Recommended Tire Chains for a 2017 Jeep Wrangler with 225/75-R17 Tires
According to the owner's manual for your 2017 Jeep Wrangler, tire chains can only be installed on the rear two wheels and must be Class S compliant. You will want to review page 420 in your owner's manual for further specifications while using tire chains. The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains part # TC2526 and the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains part # TC2828CAM are both good traction devices. However, neither are Class S compliant. Therefore, for the icy North Carolina mountains you...

  • Recommended Tire Chains for 245/50/20 Tires on 2016 Honda Pilot Touring Edition
The Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains w/ Cams for Wide Base Tires - Ladder Pattern - V-Bar Link # TC3810CAM are not Class S compatible, so they are not recommended according to your owners manual. Instead, I recommend the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Pro Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - Easy Fit SUV - Size 255 # TH04115255 which are extremely easy to install by draping and then stepping on a foot lever. These chains are made of a high quality manganese nickel alloy steel. This...

  • Tire Chains for a 2014 Ford Edge with 245/50-20 Tires
Yes, the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains part # TC3210 will fit the 245/50-20 tires on your 2014 Ford Edge. I also recommend using the Titan Chain RA10 Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster part # TCOA2 to keep them centered on the tire. Please note that the owner's manual for your vehicle states not to use tire chains with the 245/50-20 tires as there is limited wheel wheel clearance. However, there are certain conditions that require tire chains to be used so I would look at the Titan Chain Alloy Snow...
