Installation Step 4

4. Feed the silver draw chain with the rubber tensioner through the red channel at the bottom and pull it tight. Then run the tensioner through the red rings. Installation Step 5

5. Pull your vehicle forward and retighten the chain.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)

Video Transcript for Titan Chain Diamond Alloy Snow Tire Chains Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Titan Diamond Alloy snow tire chains, part number TC1553. This style of tire chain accommodates a wide variety of tire sizes. Please see our website for more details. These tire chains are designed to fit around manufacturer wheel sizes with highway treads. They're made of a strong heavy duty Manganese alloy which is super strong and durable. The small design of the square links is going to help to accommodate vehicles with minimal clearance. They have a rubber tensioner already included with the tire chain so that you won't need a separate rubber tensioner to fully secure the chains to the tire. They are self-tensioning so they will be super snug and tight to your tire without having to get out and make any adjustments. Now this style of tire chain goes around the tire vertically and horizontally, completely covering the tire to give you the most traction possible.

It grips really well in light snow and also in ice. We'll begin our installation by first laying the tire chains flat out on the ground to undo any kinks or tangles. This is going to ensure that the tire chain will fit correctly around our tire. Now we'll go ahead and start with the yellow end of the cable, which will feed back behind the inside of our tire. We'll then bring the two ends together up at the 12:00 position and hook the male and female end of the chain together. This will allow us to drape the tire chain over the tire. After it's centered we'll go ahead, and at the 12:00 position, connect the green hook with the yellow link. We'll still work the tire chain around the tire still making sure that it is centered. With that done, we'll insert the grey chain into the red tensioner and pull it tight. You can see that the chain will fit into the slot of the tensioner which is going to lock in a position. We'll then insert the chain with the rubber tensioner through the two red loops. We'll then pull it tight and secure it at the opposite end of the chain.

This is going to clench all of the sides together. Now that the tire chain is installed, we'll go ahead and head out in the snow and show you how it performs. And with that, that'll complete today's review of the Titan Diamond Alloy snow tire chains part number TC1553. .

These chains are by far the easiest chains I have ever put on or taken off a truck 10 minutes to put on and five minutes to take off. I am in a wheelchair so getting on the ground is not the easiest thing to do so with these chains taking so little time to put on it is a blessing. No Jack and no running them over to put them on. You may have to drive over them to take them off. Used one set last winter to plow a 6 1/2 mike gravel road and did awesome so I bought a set for the front. 694521

received both orders yesterday, plan on going on a trip where I may encounter some ice and snow. I put one on and it was very easy to install and remove. Looks like the chain pattern will give ample traction. Looks like a good choice. Thanks to George J and Chedi J for you help on the order and getting them to me in time for my trip. Tks 455943

Recently received my order for titan snow chains, fit was as promised.fairly simple to install. (test fit in drive way) will be putting them to the test this weekend. My first time purchasing from E TRAILER customer service was outstanding. UPS had a problem finding the delivery address, got a phone call from E trailer same day to verify shipping address. A phone call ? talk to a person ? WOW, they were on point to solve a potential problem before there was a problem. It is rare to find company that will pick up a phone and personally speak with you to get it right from the beginning. Nice work E TRAILER ! 598492

Overall I like these chains. They go on pretty easy and work great. The second time I used them a link broke which caused the unsecured piece of chain to hit the inside wheel well as I drove. It did not affect the performance of the chain. It was a quick fix with the extra link that came with the chains. 327817

Purchased these chains for a Mule Deer Hunt in the BigHorn Mountains this year. Hopefully I don't have to use them. They fit perfect and the first one took about 10mins to put on after figuring out the best adjustments. The remaining tires took about 5mins. The order processes was easy with their tire selection tool. Delivery was quick and follow up from the vendor a couple times is nice touch, knowing that this vendor cares about its customers. Will be ordering more in the future from etrailer.com 572810

I selected the Titan Diamond Alloy Snow Chains because of their innovative design. Promising the ease of installing cable chains yet having the durability of standard ladder chains. The chains arrived promptly and I practiced installing them in the driveway. Fairly simple as advertised. Clever design. Nice storage case (not just a burlap bag). You still need to move the truck in order to re-tighten them. Fits LT275/65R20 tires perfectly. I was a little bit disappointed about the thin gauge of the chain links. I guess that makes them lightweight and easy to install.I hope that they last past the first use. Luckily, I am only "an occasional chain user". I am not moving to Montana or Alaska with this set. 334104

I have used these a few times in the snow and ice to be able to tow my 11000 lb fifth-wheel trailer. The provided enough traction to tow my trailer up a 6% hill from where it was parked. (chains on all four wheels 4x4) These are easy to install. I did have an issue when trying to install after getting into some snow. I was unable to get the proper tension and they would come off. Broke a couple of links. They come with a few repair links. Once they are on properly, they are good. This was also while towing the trailer, which is really the only time I need them. 745229

I can only review the customer service at this point and it was 5 star. Person on the phone was clear, articulate and followed up with an on-point email within minutes. I'll provide another review (with pictures) when we try out the tire chains this weekend! The demonstration videos provided the peace of mind to ensure they would fit my truck and they are not impossible to put on. I would use this company again. 728075

  • Can Tire Chains Be Used on 2015 Ford F-350 with 275/65-20 Size Tires
The Titan Chain # TC2536 tire chains are confirmed to fit size 275/65-20 tires. However, when I checked the owner's manual for the 2015 Ford F-350, the manual says that tire chains should not be used on 20 inch wheels with your vehicle. Since chains are not recommended by Ford for your size tire, we have not tested them on that specific vehicle to know if the chains interfere with another component. I found the section on Using Snow Chains on page 282 of the owner's manual. If...

Good news! I can help you figure out which chains will best suit your 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with BF Goodrich LT 305/65 R17 mud terrain tires. For you it will depend on if you are planning on off-roading with these chains on or just using them on the road in snowy conditions since wider tires tend to have a more difficult time getting traction in the snow. The diamond pattern will give you front to back and side to side traction, while the ladder style only provides front...

  • Using Tire Chains on 2014 Ford F350 When Owners Manual Prohibits it
Sometimes vehicles with little clearance to the inside or above the wheels can use Class-S compatible tire chains like the # TC3031 ladder style cables or the V-style # PW2114V that offer better lateral stability. Both styles are compatible with your tire size, but I cannot recommend anything that would contradict any prohibitions about tire chain usage mentioned in your owner's manual. Ideally you want to put snow chains on all 4 wheels of a vehicle. Especially a 4 x 4 since all 4 wheel will be turning. However, you can run one set of tire chains but you would need to run them on the main drive wheels of the vehicle. So for your truck you would put them on the rear axle since that is primarily where the power will be.
