Konig's XB16 snow chains provide an affordable way to enhance safety on icy, snowy roads or during off-road adventures. These chains are handmade in Italy of hardened manganese nickel alloy steel for ultimate durability. The dual-sided, 16-mm-diameter, D-shape links provide superior traction for excelletnt grip on snow and ice. The included tensioning device eases installation. Just pull the rubber strap taut to tighten the chain for a perfect fit.
Included with each pair of chains are mounting instructions, a kneeling mat and a pair of gloves, all packaged in a sturdy, reusable container.

The plastic instructions are truly plastic, which is pretty nifty when considering installation in snow.
Fit on my 2018 Grand Touring CX-5 seems fine - I have yet to use the chains in snow, but I fit them on my car in the garage per the video recommendations. Video installations may tell you that the yellow tab needs to face towards the front of the vehicle - I found this to be false/true depending on if you were on the passenger or driver side of the vehicle. I believe that correct installation has the chain approach the tire from left to right, independent of vehicle direction. That is, if on the driver side (USA vehicle), the chain will be wrapped around the tire with the yellow tab coming from the front of the vehicle. If installing on the passenger side, the chain wraps coming from the rear of the vehicle. This was to ensure that the non-hooked sides (smooth side) of the chains were facing the rims on both driver and passenger installations per the installation videos.
One of the red plastic tabs required re-seating on the chain as it was inverted and would sit upside down when the chains were installed.
Kevin - 01/23/2022Fantastic customer service, constant follow up from etrailer.com. I need the product urgently and it arrived in a couple of days all the way to Canada! The product is very high quality and was easy to install. I have a cottage with a steep hill and when it’s full of ice it’s very tough to get up even with my 4x4 now I don’t have to put sand and salt down for 500 plus feet! Konig chains are a life saver.

Simon E - 02/17/2020Just received my Thule 247 XB16 Tire Chains. What a great product!! Got them for my 93 Ford Ranger which has 30x9.5x15 tires and they fit great! I plan on using these during snow and ice storms as I work for an electric utility and have to report to work. After viewing the etrailer instructional video I was able to put both chains on in less than 5 minutes. Delivery was quick too and I love how George J from Etrailer sent me an email quickly letting me know that my order was processed and included tracking information too! Paul C - 11/25/2016Konig Chains are my only choice for chains. This is a new set of chains for new vehicle; the first set I got was in the early 1990's, for a 1972 Dodge. And I have been using them ever since...
You need to practice,practice, practice BEFORE you actually need to install these chains. Once figured out, it's fairly simple.
Fortunately, I have not had to use the chains. I have reviewed installation instructions, however, and found them straightforward and have practiced putting them on several times.
Since I travel I-5 through Northern California in late Spring, I might have occasion to use the chains in the upcoming months. I believe, based on my practice installation, that I should be able to put them on my tires with little effort.
We haven't had to use our new tire chains yet, but we were pleased with the fast, efficient service by etrailer. They arrived just days after I placed the order. The chains look very easy to install and are packed neatly in a carrying case. Thanks etrailer for great service and a great product at a reasonable price.
I haven't tried them yet, but it's a Thule. Should be good.

The chains arrived spot on time and we were ready for our road trip. I guess the good news is we didn't have to use them but we were prepared and will be for future trips that include snow driving.
I've given 5 stars for excellent customer service, a rare commodity these days.
I used them once. While they did the job in the snow, they took the finish off the side of the wheel where they rubbed. Had to get both of my rear wheels refinished.
Great product, very easy to install on the rear wheels of a Audi Q5.

We reviewed it again yesterday before we tested our installation skills on our 2021 Tahoe. Encountered ZERO issues. Appreciate also the weather protected instructions. Great product!

After having these for a full winter season, I can say that they were well worth the purchase. 4.5 stars. Traction was supreme, and ease of install and removal is everything they say - awesome! Removed a star only because the plastic clips that route the little tensioning chain were quickly broken, and the rubber end is marginal. However when installed on my 2wd truck, I pulled a small box trailer up and down a very icy and steep slope (dirt road at scout camp) - without a hint of wheelspin. Same area immediately before chain install had cars and 4wd trucks stuck on a gentle grade. These are not smooth at all on pavement, but a lifesaver when needed.

Shipping was fast and accurate. When I called customer service at 6 p.m., an employee answered quickly and answered my questions efficiently.
The installation videos helped greatly, and these chains seem to be holding up well. After driving through snow and slush, I tried removing the chains. The tension clip was difficult to open because of the frozen slush. I proceeded to chip out the ice laying in the dark to remove the chains. Overall, great chains and I am glad they went on easily. I make sure to bring them inside after use in order to melt the ice.

Bought these for some trips to the NC mountains and finally got to use them in January. I was very impressed with how well these worked. Pulling out of the driveway was nearly impossible until I put them on and had instant traction. Once I figured them out, they installed in just a few minutes. Taking them off after driving was a messy experience due to the wet, dirty snow but very easy.
Highly recommend these.

I got 2 sets of these snow chains and we survived the great California Winter Storm without too much trouble. We were able to go up to 35mph with these chains in the midst of a blizzard. Installation & Removal were fairly easy. Great Product.
