Whether you're towing a trailer or taking a long trip with your family in your RV, the last thing you want to worry about is a tire blowout. If your tires aren't inflated properly, or if they have a slow leak you're not aware of, you run the risk of having your trip derailed.

A tire pressure monitoring system gives you peace of mind when you're towing or traveling. The PressurePro FX 4 monitors the pressure and temperature levels of the tires on your RV, 5th wheel, boat trailer, or towed car. The system uses sensors that easily thread onto your tires' valve stems. When a tire sensor detects an anomaly, it will immediately alert you of the issue.

Monitor Your Tires with Your Smartphone

Most TPMS systems require you to install a separate monitor, which clutters up the inside of your cab with another piece of equipment. The PressurePro FX 4 lets you conveniently track your tires with the device you already have with you: your smartphone. The free PressurePro app - available on both iOS and Android devices - is easy to customize, giving you complete control over this TPMS system.

Installation and Setup

Installation is easy and straightforward. Unlike many TPMS systems that need to be connected directly to your vehicle's battery for power, the Pulse FX box, which mounts inside the cab of your vehicle with the included hook-and-loop mounting pads, simply plugs into your vehicle's 12V power outlet. The included dipole antenna mounts to your windshield (or anywhere else in your cab) with hook-and-loop pads to help boost the wireless signal.

PressurePro App Pair Device PressurePro App Success Screen

Setting up the PressurePro app is simple. Once you've downloaded the app to your smartphone, you'll be able to pair it with the Pulse FX device.

PressurePro App Select Vehicle Type PressurePro App Select Axles

From there, select your vehicle type and how many wheels you want to monitor. If you need to monitor more than 2 wheels, you can purchase extra sensors separately.

PressurePro App Program Mode PressurePro App Tire Readings

To connect each tire to the PressurePro app, simply tap the tire on the diagram that you want to set up, and then install a sensor on the corresponding tire's valve stem, replacing your existing valve stem cap. Once each sensor is installed, press "Save" to connect the sensors to the app and start getting pressure and temperature readings for each tire.

The app also lets you program different towing setups. Give each of your rigs a unique name with unique settings, making it easy to switch back and forth between different vehicles or trailers. This makes the PressurePro FX ideal for people who own multiple trailers. You can monitor your boat trailer when you head to the lake for the weekend and then monitor your landscaping trailer when you go back to work the following week.

Customize Your Notifications

With the PressurePro app, there are 5 different real-time alerts designed to warn you about potential problems with your tires. You can set the alerts to be received as push notifications, so you don't have to leave the app open during your entire trip. You can also customize the parameters for each alert to your liking:

  • Extreme and Slight Under Pressure: 10 percent to 40 percent
  • Extreme Over Pressure: 10 percent to 40 percent
  • Cross Axle: 5 percent to 30 percent
  • High Temperature: 150 F to 212 F
  • Lost Signal: 10 minutes to 60 minutes

For each alert, you can program the sensitivity of the sensors to determine when you'd like to receive notifications. For instance, you can program the app to alert you if your vehicle's tire pressure drops 10 percent or more below the baseline pressure that you set. If 10 percent is too low, you can move it up to 15 percent or 20 percent.

Or you can set up a Cross Axle alert. This notifies you if there's a significant discrepancy between the tire pressure readings on each axle, which can cause uneven wear on your tires.

You can also receive a notification if one of your tires reaches a temperature of 180 F. Or bump it up to 200 F if you're driving through the desert.

In addition to receiving detailed notifications on your phone, the Pulse FX box will blink red whenever there's a potential issue, alerting you to check your device.

Video Transcript for JR Products PressurePro TPMS Kit Review

Adam: Hi everyone, Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the PressurePro FX TPMS sensors and it's going to be a wireless monitoring system for your tires and all you really need to operate it is your phone. So what's great about these sensors is they are extremely universal. If you have something that has tires, you can monitor it, whether it be an RV, a boat, or maybe even just a utility trailer, you're going to be able to do that all with the ease of your phone. So whenever you're going on vacation and if you have a flat tow setup, you don't really want to be worrying about that when you're with friends and family going to a campsite. It's always going to be nice to be able to monitor that, to give you peace of mind just so you can enjoy your vacation. So if you're someone who has a big fleet like this, whether it be a boat, a trailer, or even an enclosed trailer, whatever it is, we're going to be able to monitor all these tires.

All you got to do is basically by enough sensors. We can save profiles for each individual trailer setup. So we are going to need a sensor for each tire that we plan on monitoring and we do come in a pack of four but we did have to purchase a extra expansion pack of two to get all six of our tires on our RV monitored. So these are just going to replace our caps on the end of our stem. And it's super easy, just twist them on.

You are going to hear a little bit of air coming out, but once you get it all the way tightened down it should seal up nicely. So our kit here comes with our Pulse FX. We do have a antenna, pretty long wire as well. So we ran it all the way along here. Try to hide as much as you can and mounted it up on our windshield. Also we do come with a power cord here and actually ran it to our 12 volt DC outlet on the inside of our glove box.So this system is going to be monitored by an app on your phone.

We do have other systems available here at etrailer.com that come with a little screen and everything would be controlled by that. So if you don't want to add more hardware inside your RV or whatever you may be hauling with, you can go ahead and grab this one and your phone is all you need. Going to download an app and open it here and as you can see we have all of our tires being monitored with PSI and the temp.So we did do this individually and did every single tire one at a time and then we click save and now this is the screen that we'll go to. We can customize it, so I put it as our RV right here. And to do that you just go into our my RV, it will be labeled something different until you rename it here.

So this is going to be basically all we need. If we needed to reset everything, you can go ahead and do that there but I'm going to leave that go. We can check out our vehicle info and we can actually type in the year, make, model and even the tire brand and tire size. So there's a lot of customization that comes with this app that the others may not offer. So we've typed all that in. So if you'd like to do that, you have the capability of doing so. We can check out our sensors here. We can add and delete and also get some diagnostics here and this is going to give us a bunch of readings of what's going on inside our tires and our sensors.Another thing we can do, so we're going to be taking a look at our reference pressure so we can adjust all of these settings as we go as well. It just depends on what you like and when you want to be notified if something is too high or too low. And we can also get our alerts as well to do the same exact thing and basically just customize it to your rig. So it does have some built in notifications as you see here. We set it up to where it's going to give us a bunch of notifications and you can set this up in the settings of your phone but it will be automatically set up to give you notifications. You're going to get one on your phone and also you're going to see this red indicator light going off there. So we can go ahead and click on that and as you can see we have a problem. So whether our settings aren't set up properly or we actually have not enough or too much PSI or temp in our tires, we need to go ahead and figure all that out. And this is what all the parameter settings are going to be great for because if you go out there and your tires and everything is perfectly fine, then you need to revamp all your settings just so you don't get false notifications. Going to go on my RV, we can adjust on alerts here. I'm actually going to put this up a little bit more just because I know we don't have an issue here. Save that. As you can see this stopped blinking and we go back and we don't have a problem. So if you ever run into this situation, either reset your parameters on this app or go out and make sure that your tires are okay.So we have two different types of TPMS sensors here at etrailer.com. Some of them are going to come with a little monitor that you're going to have to put up on your dash or whatever, but we do have a couple that are going to be app driven and you're always going to have your phone on you. You're familiar with how it works and it's just an app you just download. So I would definitely recommend. If you narrowed down your search to a TPMS system that is driven by your phone. I would definitely recommend PressurePro's version of this. I know TireMinder does make one, but it's not as visually appealing. It doesn't really give you a picture of your rig, it doesn't give you the picture of the tires and it doesn't show it all on one screen. I would definitely recommend this one just because it's easier on the eyes and it just makes maneuvering through all of it a lot simpler. So the setup for this TPMS system is a little bit easier than most. We don't have to deal with direct battery linkage, we just use a 12 volt outlet and screwing those sensors onto our wheels is easy as well. So let's just go ahead and go through it with you. So the first thing we want to do is find a good spot to mount our Pulse FX. All we need to do is run DC 12 volt power to it. I'm actually going to use the power outlet inside our glove box here and as you plug it in it will illuminate red and then it'll go blank. But it still does have power. So basically I think what I'm going to do is actually mount it right here because we do want to be able to see it because it will give us some indicator lights. And make sure your surface is nice and clean just so we get this adhesive to stick. Going to place it right there. Hold it down a little bit.So then we can go ahead and connect our antenna here and we do have quite a bit of cable length so you don't really have to worry about not having enough cable to run it where you want. I'm going to try and make it as clean as possible. So I'm actually going to run it down here around our dash and I am going to mount it up on our windshield. Basically the example that they gave us in the instructions has it up on the window and that's going to give us optimal reception. There is an adhesive strip on the back already mounted, peel that off and mount it wherever it's most desirable. You can go ahead and tuck away your wires if you like just so they're not obstructing your view of the road.So I was planning on using this 12 volt DC output here, but we don't have power there for some reason. So basically that's why I used our power in our glove box here and there is a lot of different ways you can wire this up. Our customer does have one all the way up here and actually ran the wires through their dash so you don't really see that much wire. So whatever kind of RV you have and whatever you really want, you can go ahead and run that however you want.So now we can go ahead and download our PressurePro app and that will be able to work with your Android devices and also your Apple devices. I went on iPhone here and downloaded it and we're going to open it up. We're going to click connect device and as you can see our Pulse FX is coming up, so that's always a good thing. We're going to click on that and click pair. We're successfully connected. Go through some of these notes here. Got it.Then we can go ahead and start syncing up our sensors. So now we can go ahead and pick our vehicle unit. We're going to go to primary/power here and as you can see here we have car, SUV, van, or truck and bus or RV. So we are in an RV and we do have six wheels. We got four in the back and two up front. So I'm going to click six wheels and we're to click save. Got a wizard note here, you can click got it down at the bottom to get out of that. So the first sensor we're going to set up is going to be the driver's side front tire. So I'm going to go ahead and select our driver's side front and it says, "Please wait while we scan for a sensor."So I'm just going to take it and just screw it onto our stem here. Make sure it's nice and tight. You don't want to over-tighten it though. So once it's there, it is going to try to auto-connect. It says it has found a sensor. I'm going to click yes and we have all that information already. So we're going to save that. "Would you like to continue without programming all the tires" So what we're going to do is actually do this for all of it before we click that save. So now we can go ahead and repeat that same exact process for all of the tires on our RV here.So we did run into a little bit of issues. Basically what happened is we had everything set up, all was going well, and then half of our centers just went dead. Our phone wasn't picking them up and we didn't really know what to do. But then we found out that we actually just hold this little tiny button down here and our blue light's going to go dim and then it's going to start blinking again. Basically, that's going to be the factory reset on our FX here. And what that's going to do, it's just going to redo everything. So go back around and do each tire one by one. And we haven't had any issues since.Well, everyone, I hope this information helped maybe answer some of those questions that you may have had. And again, this was the PressurePro FX Wireless TPMS system.

installation and setup was super easy. pressures and temps from my 36 ft. fifth wheel came up easily.

Easy install and setup. My only concern is the power socket that plugs into the 12v socket (lighter plug) is long and takes very little effort to be dislodged thus losing power to the system. Installed in a 2018 Silverado 1500 to tow a 2021 5th wheel camper.
