TST TPMS

This TST tire pressure monitoring system monitors the pressure and temperature level of the tires on your RV, motorhome, 5th wheel, motor coach, or trailer. The system utilizes flow through sensors that attach to the valve stems of your tires. The flow through design lets you inflate or deflate your tires without removing the sensors. When a tire sensor detects an anomaly, it will wirelessly transmit an alert to the included digital color monitor. Your monitor will emit flashing lights and an audible alert to notify you of an issue, and it will display details regarding the anomaly. A booster is included to strengthen and amplify the signal that the sensors are sending to the display monitor.

Initial Setup

The TST TPMS is easy to set up and includes all mounting hardware and tools for installation. First, assign the tire sensor positions through the monitor's Learning Mode. Label each sensor with the corresponding numbering code sticker so that you know which sensor is programmed to which tire position. When you are setting up the sensors make sure the one you are programming is at least 2' away from the other sensors. Otherwise the other sensors will interfere with the sensor you are attempting to program. Once the tire sensors have been recognized by the monitor, attach them to the valve stems of your vehicle's tires. Next, install the booster and connect it to a 12-volt power source on your vehicle or trailer.

TST TPMS TST TPMS

Use the included suction cup holder to mount the color monitor on your windshield so you can monitor your tires while you drive. You can also use the included rubber, non-slip cradle mount to set the monitor on your dashboard.

TST Color Monitor Display

App Diagram

  1. Current Tire Selection - The tire icons indicate the position of your tires. A solid tire icon indicates that tire is programmed into your current setup. A blinking tire icon indicates that tire is experiencing an anomaly.
  2. Sensor Low Battery Alert - This displays when one of the sensor's batteries is low. The corresponding tire light will also flash to indicate which sensor's battery is affected.
  3. Display Battery Level Indicator - Shows the charged level of the internal battery. When this icon shows one bar it is recommended to charge the display as soon as possible. It takes approximately 4 hours for the battery to fully charge.
  4. Out Of Parameter Alert - This icon will flash during a high or low pressure alert, a high temperature alert, or a fast leak alert. In conjunction with this flashing light, the affected tire light will flash, the HI or LO PRESSURE, HI TEMP, or FAST LEAK indicators will light up, and an audible alert will sound.
  5. Display Alerts - These icons, along with the specific tire icon, will light up to indicate HI or LO PRESSURE, HI TEMP, or FAST LEAK. The bottom row indicates which programming mode you are in.
  6. Red LED Indicator - Lights up during an alert.
  7. Antenna - The multidirectional antenna helps eliminate electronic interference when paired with the signal booster.
  8. Temperature Indicator - Displays the current temperature of the selected tire in Fahrenheit or Celsius. This will also display your selected high temperature parameter during programming.
  9. Tire Pressure Indicator - Displays the current tire pressure of the selected tire. This will also display your selected high and low pressure parameters during programming.
  10. Power Switch - Lets you turn the monitor on and off.
  11. Charging Port - Plug the included USB cable into this port to charge the monitor. The side power switch will not turn off the display when constant power is applied to the unit.
  12. Backlight and Motion Detector - The backlight turns on when the vehicle is in motion, and there is little ambient light. It will sense periods of inaction and the display will "go to sleep" until the vehicle resumes motion.

TST Color Monitor Function Buttons

  1. GO Button - Press the GO button to tell the system where to "go". When pairing the sensors, once you have the tire icon flashing that you want to code, hit the GO button to tell it to get its unique code. If you only want to code a trailer, press the GO button to tell it to go to the trailer. When moving from axle to axle to set your warning pressures, hit the GO button to go to the next axle or next trailer.
  2. SET Button - Press the SET button to program your warning parameters, or to go into coding and set your configurations. This button locks in all specific settings.
  3. BACK Button - Press the BACK button to leave programming, or take the system back to the previous screen. If you need to remove a sensor code, use this button in the coding section to take the sensor position back to the factory settings.
  4. + Button - Press the + button to increase the temperature and pressure settings from the factory defaults. You can also scroll forward through your tires. Press the + button in conjunction with the GO button to drop your towing vehicle from a setting and add it back in.
  5. - Button - Press the - button to decrease the temperature and pressure settings from the factory defaults. You can also scroll backward through your tires. Press the - button in conjunction with the GO button to drop your towed vehicle from a setting and add it back in.

Multiple Wheel Layouts

TST TPMS

You can program multiple layouts into the monitor, and you can scroll through each setup on the screen. This system can support up to 4 tire layouts and up to 38 tires total. Make sure to set your high and low pressure alarms for each layout that you are using. Some examples of popular layouts are shown above.

Tire Sensor Installation

Tire sensor Install Diagram

  1. Screw the anti-theft hex nut onto your tire's valve stem threads until it bottoms out.
  2. Screw the sensor onto the valve stem. Tighten the sensor until the air stops leaking and the sensor bottoms out on the valve stem. Give it a slight twist to seat the sensor while being careful not to over-tighten.
  3. Use the included wrench to tighten the hex nut counterclockwise until it is snug against the sensor.
  4. Screw the tire's valve cap onto the sensor.

Note: To inflate or deflate a tire it is not necessary remove the sensor. Simply unscrew the cap.

Booster

repeater

The booster - or repeater - amplifies the signal strength that the sensors send to the monitor. Booster installation requires a 12-volt power source. It is waterproof and can be mounted inside or outside your vehicle with the included mounting hardware. On a trailer, you can mount it in the battery box in front of the propane bottles. On a 5th wheel, you can install it in the house battery bay underneath the overhang. You will want to place it below the bank of mirrors so they don't bounce the signal back and cause the system to malfunction. On coaches with towed vehicles, you can install it in the back battery bay. The power draw is so minimal that you can leave the booster installed without running the battery down. If you decide to unhook it for storage remember to reconnect when you are ready to hit the road. A red light on the repeater indicates that the unit is connected to power and operating correctly. Repeater installation is required for warranty compliance.

The TPMS system works well. I had 6 on the RV, two on the car, and two on the tow dollie. The sensors are not 100% accurate but give a rough idea of pressure in the tire and temp. Always have an appropriate tire gage to get true pressures. The system did save us in NM because the potholes were so bad we broke a valve extension and an inner rear tire went flat quick. The monitor caught this and saved us a blowout. I just wish the sensors were 100% accurate otherwise it's a great system.

The TST TPMS works okay. It saved us on one trip when a valve stem broke. Notified us of the tire going flat. The sensors along with the monitor do not give accurate readings but the readings give a good indicator how the tires are going down the highway. I also have the extender for when pulling a trailer or car.

I have been looking for a TPM system for my 40 foot triple axle fifth wheel. I had a blowout last fall and it caused damage to the camper. This will remedy that situation. In the spring I'm going to have 14 ply tires mounted on the rims and the tire pressure sensing system will be added to the camper.
Very happy with how quickly the system was delivered to my home. It's just what I was looking for.

Very happy, they work great and help keep us safe.

by:

Work really well, just wish I could see all of the pressures at once but alarm surely goes off if one is outside of perimeters.

by:

Gives me peace of mind rolling down the highway , that my tires are within a safe temperature and pressure range.

by:

I like this very much. We use it on our RV when towing and I keep it in my car ( The tow vehicle) the rest of the time. i wish I could use the flow through sensors on my car tires. The sensors are a bit difficult to put on and off.

by:

Setup was easy enough that a non-techy person can do it. Readout is clear and seems to be fairly close to my tire guage. Within 2#s variance. I have never exceeded my alarm limits, so I'm not sure how loud the alarm is. I consider this cheap insurance. I have replaced the batteries twice a year as part of my trailer inspection and maintenance cycle. I would definitely recommend to anyone who tows.

After 2 full seasons of towing, I have had absolutely No issues with these. They hook up flawlessly ever time and give me piece of mind on the longer hauls. I would recommend using this system on any rv that gets used regularly. I have seen a couple of accidents due to rv tires exploding and both were totals. A really good way to screw up a vacation.

by:

Easy setup, and the trailer tires show up as well. I love how it shows the RV separate from the trailer

Purchased this tst system about a year ago, installed it on a 2017 ForestRiver Forester on a E450 chassis, my very first trip with this system installed save me from ruining a brand new tire that had an improperly installed vave stem that came loose, the system detected a fast leak, I was able to pull of the highway and call the people who installed my new tires to come and fix their bad installation, would highly recommend this system

Great, as I stated in my first review it save me from ruining a brand new tire because the tire installer didnt secure the metal valve stem properly,I would not leave on a trip without it, great product, my only gripe is I didnt any O rings when replacing batteries, would purchase this very system again

by:

I finally got a chance to use the trailer which has the sensors. It was great to find out the tires had lost air.

I was concerned about the sensors sticking out too far and possibly getting damaged when changing the tires. I decided to use the 90 degree valve stems. This was a mistake. The pressure on the valve, because of the leverage of the added length occurring with the TST sensor installed, cause the valve to leak at the rim. We changed all the valve stems to the short straight stems and now do not have a problem maintaining the tire pressure.

We have travelled to FL from NJ and to IA, NY and back. The sensors work great. You set the pressure notification value and when the air goes below that value a beep starts. The display does a continuous scan which is easily seen if you put it on the dash. I would definitely buy this again.

by:

Works very good! Feel better about having a system that can assist you in keeping an eye on the tires for both the RV and the towed vehicle. My only complaint is that we have had a few false warnings of either temp or pressure warnings that required me to pull over to make sure that all is okay.

by:

Works very well. Picked up a nail in one of my rv tires. Sensor notified me when pressure dropped to low. Saved a tire blow out and possible damage to my fifth wheel.

Worked as advertised. Purchased an additional 4 sensors for our towed vehicle. The system accommodates multiple configurations of vehicles and trailers which supports my original plan to alternate between a towed car and a trailer. Once all are programmed in, it is easy to switch configurations.

Still working great and no need to replace batteries. I took the 4 off of the Toad for the winter, reinstalled them this spring and everything is working great. A definite must have for both the Coach and especially the Toad.

by:

Friendly, pleasant, quick & knowledgeable describes my experience with Paul, the sales rep., when purchasing a tire monitoring system from etrailer. Highly recommend.

The product, tire monitoring system, shipped fast, arriving just when needed. It is of excellent quality, had clear instructions and was easy to install. With out a doubt would buy this product again.

by:

TPMS setup and function reliably. The alarm is loud and cannot be missed.
But the display is weak and must be shaded to be seen. Disappointing as it is mounted next to my GPS, my ScanD, my backup camera and those are all easy to read
I did have one sensor fail and was very impressed by the assistance and speed of replacement.

Loving it. Now added fir the trailer. Just ordered a now-available sun shade from TST

by:

We purchased the TST 507 TPMS for our 30 foot class B+ motor home with the additional 4 sensors to install on our Jeep Wrangler toad. I had to slightly alter the 16” steering tire Stainless wheel covers to make room for the air through sensors. The dual rear wheel covers installed without any sensor interference.
Once I got into a patterned routine I was able to program the 10 sensors without any problem. At first I programmed the high pressure too low and the high pressure alarms went off. I reprogram to 10% above the maximum tire pressure and the system works flawlessly. After loosing several China bomb tires over the years on travel trailers We now travel in confidence that we aren’t going to have tire catastrophes.

by:

I really like the display and the ability to program multiple sets of sensors as I own several trucks and trailers. Its nice to be able to tell at a glance what all of my truck and trailer tires are doing temperature and pressure. I had a valve stem lock nut come loose and start leaking, saw the pressure drop on that tire and the temperature increase on the other axle, got off the road and repaired before I had a blowout and all of the trailer damage that comes with it. It paid for itself on that trip alone. I have since bought more sensors for my other trailer and for my other truck. Highly recommend it.

by:

Except for one miscue with a sensor, everything has worked fine and is a good system. 1 sensor gave me a heart attack going down the highway when all of a sudden an alarm started sounding. In a motorhome there are many alarms, when i finally located it, the sensor said 1 tire on the towed car was @ 325 degrees. I reset the receiver and all is well. Good system.

by:

I did not like the TPMS. The display was too distractive. Driving the RV needs full attention but the TPMS created unnecessary distractions, usually about insignificant info.
Also, the wheel sensors are too heavy, which caused the valve stem on one the wheels to break off.
I have removed the system from my RV.

by:

1st, questioned etrailer as to whether or not I could use this TPMS on my RV with braided valve extensions and they said yes. Prompt response, ordering and shipping as usual. I installed the system yesterday without much fuss. One fuss was due to my not following the exact sequence to program the sensors. The other was the front wheel beauty not having enough room for the sensor to pass through. I had to make a little room by denting the corner of the opening . (see the picture) Winnebago Vista. Haven't traveled any where yet to check moving operation but standing still all sensors have been picked up by unit and showed I needed air in 4 out of 6 from sitting all winter. I know I'll feel a bit safer going down the road.

by:

The TPMS RV system works as advertised, I have a 3 axle 5th wheel. I did have an issue with one sensor leaking, etrailer got right on it and sent another one out to me. I do like the system, and the battery life of the receiver unit is outstanding. I recommend this products.

by:

Very good system. It works as advertised and the data seems accurate and reliable. My biggest question mark with this style of sensor is air pressure loss due to the nature of how they attach and read the pressure. If there is any air pressure loss from the system, it is completely undetectable. I go months without having to add air while these sensors are installed the entire time.

by:

I installed this system on my class C motorhome. It saves having to verify tire pressure with a hand gauge and piece of mind that I don't have a leak on a dully tire while driving. You cannot feel a low or even totally flat dully tier, resulting in total shredding of that tire doing damage to the vehicle. This system was easy to install, keeps me informed on tire pressure and temperature. Instructions were easy to follow.

by:

This system is replacing another which did not work with my rig. My previous system worked good on my 34ft tandem axle trailer but was lacking with my 43 ft triple axle rig. The TST was easy to install and calibrate. They arrived fast and at a great price. I have recommended this system to all my other traile4 owners with no hesit.

by:

Tpms works great! It has saved us twice from slow leaks. Only thing I would caution- there are washers with your kit that you put on before you put the sensor on. Don’t skip that step! We don’t remember seeing it in the manual but those washers prevent slow leaks from the sensor. Luckily we were able to learn this from a fellow camper before replacing a tire!

  • Replacing Damaged or Lost Sensor on TST TPMS TST-507-FT-6-C
According to my contact at TST, there are two scenarios that would indicate a sensor failure on your TST TPMS # TST-507-FT-6-C. If the battery is dead or sensor communication is interrupted temporarily, lines or dashes "---" are displayed for that sensor on the monitor. Since the battery life on the system can be anywhere from 12 to 18 months, this is unlikely. Also, the system automatically refreshes to display new information every 5 minutes, so the dashes would not be displayed for...

  • Difference Between TST-507-RV-6-C and TST-507-FT-6-C Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems
The only difference between the TST TPMS # TST-507-RV-6-C and # TST-507-FT-6-C is the type of tire sensors that are included with each kit. Kit # TST-507-RV-6-C comes with 6 standard tire sensors, whereas kit # TST-507-FT-6-C comes with 6 flow through tire sensors, which let you inflate or deflate your tires without needing to remove them from the valve stems. The added convenience easily outweighs the small price difference, so I personally recommend going with # TST-507-FT-6-C.

  • Is Signal Repeater of TST TPMS for RVs Needed When Installing in 33 ft Newmar Class A
Due to the length of your Newmar Class A being 33 feet I would strongly using the repeater/signal booster that comes with the TST TPMS for RVs # TST-507-FT-6-C otherwise it won't have a strong enough signal to work properly.

  • Recommended Tire Pressure Monitoring System for a 30 Fifth Wheel Trailer
I recommend checking out the TST TPMS for RVs - Color Display - Signal Booster # TST-507-FT-4-C. This is my personal choice if given one because it's simple to use, and you don't have to remove the sensors every time you air up. It may not seem like a huge deal but it's one of those little quality of life things that make a difference to me. This kit contains 4 flow through sensors that check the tire's pressure every 12 seconds for an accurate up-to-date reading, a full color wide screen...

  • Recommended Tire Pressure Monitoring System for a Tandem Axle 5th Wheel Towed By a Dually Truck
Personally, I would go with the TireMinder A1AS TPMS # TM79FR. There are a couple reasons for this. One being that the TST TPMS for RVs # TST-507-FT-6-C (or any other TST system) would require you to purchase 4 additional sensors # TST-507-FT-S2 (x2) because your 2019 GMC Sierra 3500 is a dually. While the TireMinder A1AS TPMS # TM79FR comes with 10 sensors, which is enough to cover all 6 tires on your 3500 and the 4 on your Salem Hemisphere 5th wheel. The TireMinder A1AS TPMS # TM79FR...

To use the TST TPMS 4 Flow Through Tire Sensors item # TST-507-FT-4 or 6 Flow Through Sensors item # TST-507-FT-6-C you will need to swap out your rubber valve stems with valve stems that are steel, chrome or nickel. You can use the Americana Metal, Bolt-In Valve Stem item # AM20906 which fits either of the standard hole sizes of 0.453" or 0.625" and is made of chrome-plated brass. You won't be able to use just the metal extensions, like item # WM80292 you were looking at, with these tire...

  • Will the TST TPMS for RVs Work On a Boat Trailer
Yes, the TST TPMS for RVs like part # TST-507-FT-6-C will work great on a boat trailer. The sensors can be used in water but the mfg recommends not leaving them submerged for long periods of time. Simply launching the boat from time to time won't be an issue at all.

For the TST TPMS for RVs, # TST-507-FT-6-C ensure the battery is reading over 3 volts, replace with a new battery if low voltage.
