Older incandescent ID lights can dim over time and pull more power than they should. This 14-1/4" Peterson LED identification light bar uses six bright red LEDs that shine clean and clear while drawing only 0.11 amps at 12V. The LEDs last up to 50 times longer than standard bulbs and never need replacing, so you get consistent brightness without worrying about burnt filaments or uneven light output.
If your trailer sees the water, this light bar is made to handle it. The sealed, waterproof housing keeps moisture out, protecting the LEDs and circuit board from corrosion or shorting. It’s submersible, so dunking it at the ramp or driving through rain won’t cause failure. You can count on reliable lighting even in wet, muddy, or humid conditions.
Rusted brackets and corroded housings are a thing of the past with this one. The durable stainless steel base resists corrosion and holds up in harsh environments where other housings might pit or flake over time. It’s a solid foundation that keeps the light bar firmly mounted and looking sharp through years of use.
Installation is straightforward thanks to the surface-mount design and single-wire setup. It grounds through the mounting hardware, so there’s no need for extra ground wires. At 14-1/4" long with 8-1/2" center-to-center mounting holes, it lays flat against the trailer surface for a clean fit. The included 60" wire gives you plenty of length to reach your connection point without fuss.
For trailers wider than 80", this red LED ID bar meets DOT requirements so others can clearly see your trailer’s width at night. The bright red lens covers white LEDs to create a crisp signal that enhances visibility and safety on the road while keeping your setup compliant and easy to maintain.

Today, we're taking a look at the Peterson LED identification light bar for trailers over 80 inches wide. This trailer light functions as an identification light bar. It features a sealed housing and lens unit. It does feature LEDs, so we have three light units with two LEDs per unit, so a total of six LEDs, two per light.LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer. They burn brighter.
They're much more efficient. With LEDs, you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs, and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments. Those lights sit on a stainless steel base, which is rust and corrosion resistant. It mounts to the surface of your trailer, so you've got a mount hole right here and a mount hole located right here. Now, on this unit we have a 60 inch lead wire. This is your main power wire, and then the unit grounds through your mounting hardware.
It's Department of Transportation compliant.Taking a look at the measurements real quick, starting with the overall length of the unit. So measuring edge to edge, it's going to give us a measurement of around 14 and one quarter inches long. Side to side right here, one and three sixteenths. And the overall depth, from the very back to the very front, gives a measurement of about one and one 16th inches deep. That's how far it sticks out from your installation surface.
The distance between your mount holes, center on center, is about eight and a half inches. Again, your lead wire length is 60 inches long. We're going to go and hook it up to power, that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. We'll also turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a low light setting. So, you can see here that it sends out a really nice, clear, consistent signal. We have two LEDs per light, so if we combine all of those, that's a total of six LEDs.
Again, they have the nice red lens that goes over them. Allows plenty of light to come through. The LEDs on this unit are also covered with a limited lifetime warranty. That's going to do it for today's look at the Peterson LE . Excuse me. LED identification light bar for trailers.
