The greaseless AlumiBall is a solid aluminum hitch ball topped with a nylon cap. The cap enables the trailer coupler to rotate easily around the ball. This prevents the coupler from getting stuck during turns and makes the towing experience smoother. The Alumiball does not require the use of lubricants, helping you to avoid greasy messes. Nylon cap is replaceable.

Today we're going to review part number AM3436. This is the Rapid Hitch 1-7/8" diameter and 2" diameter greaseless AlumiBall hitch ball combo. Now this part is designed to fit on the Rapid Hitch adjustable ball shank. We're going to show you this in a minute, how it installs. This Rapid Hitch interchangeable AlumiBall combo has the two different hitch ball sizes. They do use the greaseless aluminum hitch ball.
As you can see, they use a greaseless nylon cap on top. This allows for easy rotation between the ball and the coupler when it's connected and you're towing. The whole part is a lightweight rust resistant aluminum alloy construction. Again, it's a two-sided platform. You just choose which ball size you need. Now the 1-7/8" ball, it is stamped on here.
Has a capacity of 3,500 gross towing weight capacity. The 2" is stamped on there. It has a 6,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now it is held in place in the adjustable ball mount by an internal pin. We do sell that separately on your website. If you need an extra one, it's part number AM3440.
It is listed on this product page as a related product. I do want to show you here's an example of the Rapid Hitch . this is what the Rapid Hitch adjustable ball mount would look like. They usually come with their balls already in them. Now these are the chrome-plated steel ones.
If you want to replace it using the greaseless aluminum ball, all you have to do is pull your clip out, pull your pin out, and then remove the adjustable shank. Then you have your ball platform with the two different hitch balls in it. All you have to do, as you can see right here, there's a pin. If you just point it downwards you can see that the pin will slide out. Once you get a grip out of it you can pull that aluminum pin out. Then you can remove the chrome-plated steel hitch balls. Then take your greaseless AlumiBall combo, slide it up. Again, you just line the hole with the hole where the pin goes in. If we do that, see if we can get it lined up. There we go. With it lined up and pushed all the way in, now you have either the 1-7/8 or flip it over for the 2". Then you can hook this back onto the adjustable shank and use it that way. Then just to remove it, all you got to do is turn it over. The pin would slide right out. Then you can remove the ball combo from the adjustable ball mount. Again, the ball diameters is 1-7/8", 2". Again, the towing capacity is 3,500 on the 1-7/8" and 6,000 on the 2". For 3,500-lb to 6,000-lb towing capacities, the Rapid Hitch interchangeable greaseless AlumiBall combo with 1-7/8" and 2" hitch balls offers the benefits of versatility and easy handling.The hitch ball combo was easy to install and locking pins went in easy as well and I have the comfort knowing that my trailers won't be as susceptible to theft now. Plus the ease I have now with switching balls and trailer is a no hassle endeavor.

Looks good. But Put it on the Anderson hitch and put the pin in. Didn’t go in the last few cm. So now the hitch won’t slide back on. Makes the entire hitch unusable since we cannot get the pin back out now either. Hopefully we can have another one sent ASAP in exchange for this one.

Works great and arrived quickly. just be sure you have a 1/4 inch bolt available to remove the pin that holds in the existing ball before you can install this one.
