  I have a solution for you. We don't have any LED lights that are a fit for the inside of that 4 inch cylinder. All of our LED options are linked and they are slightly bigger. What you can do is use an LED bulb in an incandescent fixture. For example, the Peterson Trailer Tail Light - Stop, Turn, Tail - Incandescent - Round - Red Lens - Passenger Side # 431800 in the attached video (with the 4 inch round tube) uses 1157 bulb so you can use # ARC63FR for an LED.

  As far as what position they occupy in the bulb, I couldn't say. Dual filament bulbs like the # DI79VR have two different filaments. One filament is of a different resistance value, and thus makes a brighter light. but the brake and turn signal filament would be the brighter of the two. From what you describe, it certainly sounds as if you have the brake/turn signal and running lamp wire reversed.
