The Yakima OutPost HD Overland Truck Bed Rack w/ Tonneau Cover Adapters lets you haul gear without giving up your retractable tonneau cover. It mounts directly to the T-slots of covers like the Retrax XR, Pace Edwards UltraGroove, and Ford Embark LS using included adapters. That means you still get weather protection for your truck bed while gaining overhead space for kayaks, bikes, or tools.
The uprights sit 13" above the bed rails, keeping your cargo elevated but still easy to load. With a total height around 22" from the top of a Retrax XR cover to the top of the crossbar, it strikes a balance between clearance and convenience. The mid-cab height keeps your center of gravity low for better handling while still giving room for larger loads or rooftop tents.
This rack was tested to Yakima’s off-road standards to handle tough terrain, emergency stops, and speed bumps. It supports up to 300 lbs on-road and 180 lbs off-road, so it’s ready for both work weeks and weekend trails. The sturdy aluminum build with a black powder-coat finish resists rust and corrosion for long-term durability.
The QuickChange system makes installation simple. The tonneau adapters slide into your cover’s tracks—no drilling needed—and BedGrip clamps secure the rack to the rails. Etched measurements on the crossbars help center everything up fast. You can also remove the rack when you need full use of your bed.
Channels on both sides of the crossbars let you add eye bolts, lights, paddle holders, or load stops right where you need them. The 60" long crossbars have rubber inserts that cut down wind noise and drag, and built-in tie-down points on the uprights make securing gear simple. Optional SideBar rails (sold separately) expand your carrying setup even more.

Rack system works very good. Easy to take off and on my F150. Wish it was more adjustable to lower the system a few inches. Also because of the bed formation cannot place anywhere on the bed. Overall it is stable and rides well

Great rack system for tonneau cover with rail system. Easy install and very well made, the only down side is when you order the system for the tonneau cover you also get all the hardware for non tonneau cover trucks. Excessive amount of expensive hardware you’ll never use with your tonneau cover installed
After researching many truck racks I decided to purchase this one. The staff at etrailer were very helpful and friendly . The product arrived on schedule with no problems. The installation was fairly easy straightforward. I must say that I made the right decision in choosing this product as the quality is very good. Once I got it installed it was rock solid. The following week I made a 600 plus miles trip to the mountains with a Thule cargo box installed on it and had zero problems. I would check it whenever I stopped to make sure it was still secure and it remained rock solid with no issues. I am very satisfied with this Yakima rack and would highly recommended it. I also recommend etrailer for doing business with. They followed up with me on my purchase to see if I was satisfied or had any problems. I will do business with them again!

Thanks etrailer for the help in getting this! Couldn't find the Tonneau adapter in stock anywhere. Thankfully etrailer let me place an order and they tracked down the part for me. GREAT communication by the etrailer customer support team keeping me updated on the status of this order. It took a while due to delays from Yakima, but it's now installed and I'm very happy.
