If you’ve got an older trailer or one that uses a 5-spoke utility wheel, you know how tough it can be to find the right hub. This Dexter hub-and-drum assembly is built specifically for 6,000-lb to 7,000-lb axles and uses the uncommon 5-spoke utility bolt pattern. It’s a direct match to setups using inner bearing 25580 (1.75" inner diameter) and outer bearing 15123 (1.25" inner diameter), so it drops right onto compatible spindles without modification.
When every stop counts, you need a smooth, even surface for your brake shoes to grip. This 12" diameter x 2" wide hub-and-drum assembly gives your brakes solid contact area for consistent stopping power. It’s compatible with both electric and hydraulic drum brakes, so you can keep your existing system or upgrade later without having to change hubs.
This assembly comes ready for installation with everything you need—bearings, races, grease seal, grease cap, wheel bolts, and lug nuts. You won’t have to hunt for missing pieces or reuse worn hardware. The 9/16" wheel studs and matching lug nuts thread in solidly, giving you a secure connection to your 5-spoke utility wheel.
Made from durable iron, the hub and drum stand up to heavy use and high heat from braking. Each hub carries a 3,500-lb capacity, providing dependable performance under load. It’s a tough, long-lasting choice for keeping your trailer rolling smoothly and braking safely mile after mile.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Everything fit perfect but I have never been able to adjust the brakes so they actually work.

I wish it came with a new axle nut and washer, but i was able to use my originals so no big deal. good product, fit perfect
The parts were all the right ones and most were Dexter oem parts. The only problem I had was putting the bolts in the frame end of the spring perch. It was easier to take the spring loose from the axle, put the bolt in ,then bolt it back to the axle. I intend to buy all of my future trailer parts from etrailer.

We do have the spindle nut for the one inch spindle as separate part, part # 165686. The matching washer would be part # SW1000.
