Based on my research your M1101 trailer has a GVWR of around 3400lbs, so for a replacement axle I recommend taking a look at the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - Straight Spindle - Off-Road Tires - 3,500 lbs # ASR35HDS01 which will bolt to the frame of your trailer and replace your current axle and suspension setup.

The # ASR35HDS01 is designed for wide off-road tires meaning it would give you the extra clearance you need to run the typical wide off-road tires found on the M1101.

For electric brake assemblies I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies # AKEBRK-6.

The correct hubs will be dependent on the bolt pattern of your current wheels, so I have included a link that goes over how to measure your bolt pattern.

Once you know your bolt pattern the options for this set up are the 6 on 5-1/2 # 8-201-5UC3-EZ, 5 Spoke Utility # 8-174-5UC3, or 8 on 6-1/2 # 42866UC3-EZ.

I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.

Great question and response. I'm wondering, given that it has been four years since this question was explored, if these products are still recommended? To make this resource even more comprehensive, consider adding a 24V-to-12V conversion and an LED light upgrade. I think that would cover all the things to convert a M1101 best.

@AlexS Hello Alex. Yes, the Timbren Axle-Less suspension is still what we recommend for the M1101 trailer. It works with any frame width and it is great for offroad or uneven terrain.
