Question:
Hi, I have an old utility trailer axle with no serial number that I can find. The style is like your Item 8-174-5UC3. Im looking for information on the drum brakes so I can replace them. I have searched but been unable to find any product that looks like what I have. Size is 12 x 2 with a 5 bolt flange to the axle. However, the bolt circle on the flange larger than anything Ive been seeing. It measures approximately 7. Do you have any information on this configuration? Ideally I would like to find an adapter so I can replace with the much more common smaller 5 bolt axle flange pattern. I can send photos of what I presently have. The drum was marked Dexter. I contacted them, but so far they havent been able to identify it. Thank you! Chris

Chris, I am unaware of any 12x2 brake assemblies which have a 7" bolt pattern spread. We do have the Brake Flange # 4-44-1 you can have welded onto your axle so you can use the etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-7-SA.
