Brake Adjuster for 10" and 12" Trailer Brake Assemblies - BP10-060

Average Customer Rating:  4.7 out of 5 stars   (57 Customer Reviews)

These manual-brake adjusters enabled me to switch out the auto-brake adjusters on my trailer brake installation. The auto brake adjusters are very difficult to back off the brake shoe tension against the drums. This eliminated the auto-adj capability for my trailer brakes, which I decided to do. Reason was, one drum wheel was over tightening the brake shoes, not sure reason for that. Its been long time since having shoe-brakes on a vehicle. Easier to go back to what I know from experience for me.

I love companies that deliver as promised! I ordered my parts and in less than a week I had them in my hand! When you live in a rural area like I do it is great to get service like this, my local trailer repair company wanted $18 for the same part that I bought for $8, the other parts that I ordered our local repair company said would be a special order and would take 2 weeks to get in! Thank you for such a fast turn around, with out these two small parts our trailer was not towable/ mama's happy so I'll be happy!

Easy to find part. It was so easy, I thought it must be the wrong one. But it wasn't the wrong one. Got it in just a few days. I will use you guys whenever I need a trailer part. Pricing was good. My local auto parts place did not have what I needed, so went on line. You were the first that showed up. Shipping cost $x.xx. I'm going to need a couple of other small parts, but have too many other things needing my attention right now. Keep up the good work. Steve

The parts I bought were brake parts, if memory serves. Anyway, whether they were or not, nothing I have bought from you has given me any problems. Wait, I also bought wheel bearings. All have worked perfectly. I would recommend you to anyone seeking trailer parts.

10" wheel drum with bearings was just what i needed. at agreat price. ordering was easy. was shipped fast. got item before i expected. installed easily. also etrailer has got great instructional videos. got my toy hauler back on the road and ready for fun.

i"m already looking at other parts i need to replace on my trailer. Definitely will be ordering from etrailer.
Witt S,

etrailer made it possible to rebuilt & supply the parts to rebuilt my obsolete axle brakes and get back on the road. Professional tech support and parts were in stock and received quickly....

Great products and even better service from the folks at
I go out of my way to insure that my friends and those that I meet that need parts for their rv's or trailers use etrailer because of the many years of excellent service that I have received.

Thanks Again,
Brian Watts

Perfect fit for my 10" Airstream Sovereign trailer brakes.

The brake adjuster worked well with my 12" brakes was easy to install and made adjusting brakes easier. The order was shipped within 48 hrs of placing it and I received it with in 5 days.

The parts are replacements for the ones that came apart. After telling me that one of the parts was in a shipment that was coming in later in the week, they found one somewhere and got it shipped out that day, so I got the parts in time to fix the brakes for our camping trip on the weekend. I have made other purchases that went just as smoothly.

The adjusters arrived in the same package as the brake shoes. They were in good condition and the ones I have installed so far seem to work fine.

The brake adjuster is the exact replacement for my trailer. Service was quick and the website was easy to navigate.

Received parts today. All were correct as ordered. Look forward to easy installation

Appears to be a good fit. Waiting on bearings to get it all back together and make sure I've assembled it correctly.

Wish it was made in the USA. Work on that for me....I'll pay the extra dollar or three.

Great customer service, George communicated with me throughout the process from acknowledgement of the order to delivery confirmation. FANTASTIC!!!!

Haven't used but quite sure it will work great to replace bad adjuster

In the process of installing. Quality looks good and they fit well.

I am very well pleased with the way the parts are performing. Once again I want to thank you for your help in getting me the right parts. You all stand out as one of the top companies I have done business with. You go the extra mile to make sure the customer has the right parts and then follow up on it. You all are to be applauded for that. Not many companies like that any more. Once again a big THANK YOU and may God bless you all.

etrailer has done it again. i love this site.

Fast service, parts work as they should.

Perfect replacement part!!!!

I ended up not needing these but they get a great review because of their return policy.
No questions, easily returned with an authorization number!
I'll continue to order from this site!

the part, although simple, is essential (if you want the brakes to work) the part fit and worked perfectly.

They worked, good quality, no complaints

Great experience to talk with someone who knows what I need.

Shipment arrived in a timely manner and the product looks good. Now to find the time to install.

Thank you,

  • Can Brake Parts be Replaced on Dexter 2,800 Pound Axles with Weld-On Trailer Brake Assemblies
What you were told was only partially correct. If you wanted to replace the entire brake assembly but you had welded on brakes then you could not replace the assemblies. However, you can replace the worn brake parts. There should be a number on the hub if it is a Dexter hub, with an 8-XXX, the Xs being some 3 digit number Dexter uses. With this number we can determine a little about the axles and see what kind of brake parts you need. Also, you can look at the brakes and if they are...

  • Troubleshooting 2017 Keystone Bullet Trailer Brakes Getting Hot While Driving
While it is normal for trailer brakes to get hot from braking if yours are getting excessively hot and only on 3 of the 4 assemblies they are likely too tight and creating friction while driving. You can adjust the Brakes # 23-26-27 that you have on your 2017 Keystone Bullet by using a Brake Adjustment Spoon # W80630 to turn the Adjuster # BP10-060. I have linked an article below that will walk you through the steps of adjusting your brake assemblies. I do recommend keeping the Plugs...

  • Recommended Brake Replacements For 2000 Jayco Eagle 12SO
When replacing brakes on a trailer it is often more cost effective to get the entire assembly than to get the parts piece by piece. I recommend the Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKUBRK-35 for your 2000 Jayco Eagle 12SO. However, if you just want the brake cylinder, I recommend the Replacement Wheel Cylinder for 10" and 12" Hydraulic Brakes - Uni-Servo - Right Hand # AKBRKR-H7-R and left hand # AKBRKR-H7-L. • Will Brake Adjuster # BP10-060 Fit Dexter 12x2 Nev-R-Adjust Electric Brakes
The Brake Adjuster # BP10-060 will fit your 12" x 2" Nev-R-Adjust Dexter brakes but you may need to reuse some old parts to ensure that the self adjusting feature works. If the company that installed your brakes didn't do it completely and your brakes have been damaged because of it I would contact them to see if there is any way that can help you out with replacement parts or the installation (although that may not be the best idea if they goofed up the first time).

  • How To Adjust Newly Installed 12 Inch Electric Trailer Brakes
I do have a video that will show how to adjust your electric trailer brakes. I will send you a link to that video and the adjustment procedure will start at the 4:25 mark on the video. I will also explain the adjustment procedure for you. On the back of your backing plate there will be some rubber caps at the bottom. You will want to take off the cap that is closest to the adjustment wheel on your brake adjuster. Then, you will insert your brake adjusting tool through that hole and tighten...

  • Easy Way to Initially Adjust Self Adjusting Nev-R-Adjust Trailer Brake Assemblies
Yes you can. Self adjusting trailer brake assemblies can easily be set up initially by applying the brakes several time. I would just find an empty parking lot near you and apply and release the brakes while moving several times until you feel the brakes reach adjustment. It will feel like the brakes are getting more and more powerful and you will most likely need to back the power of your brake control off more and more as you go.

  • Is it Easier to Replace or Repair 12 Inch Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes
First, if grease got on the brake shoe pads they are pretty much done. You would not be able to get all of the grease and I would not recommend taking that risk anyway. We do have individual parts available for many brake assemblies. For an adjuster spring use # BP08-070. For actuating arms use # BP02-230 for the left and # BP02-240 for the right. For the adjuster use # BP10-060. Honestly I would replace all 4 assemblies and be done with it. That way you will get all new parts and they...
