This round Dexter axle beam is built for real work. With a weight capacity of 5,200 lbs and a 3" outer diameter steel tube, it’s a sturdy replacement or foundation for your next trailer project. The beam measures 95" from hub face to hub face and 80" from spring center to spring center, giving you a precise fit for setups that demand strength and durability. The spindles, brake flanges, and spring seats are already welded in place, so the axle is ready to go once you mount your leaf springs and hubs.
Keeping bearings greased usually means pulling everything apart. The E-Z Lube spindles on this axle make that job simple. Each spindle has its own zerk fitting at the end—just pop out the rubber plug on an E-Z Lube hub cap, attach your grease gun, and pump fresh grease through the spindle bore. The grease travels through to both the inner and outer bearings (25580 inner and LM67048 outer, sold separately), flushing out the old grease as it fills. It’s a cleaner, faster way to keep your bearings running smooth.
A slight upward bend in the center of the axle gives it just enough camber to flatten out under load. That keeps your trailer tires sitting square on the pavement instead of tipping in at the top. The result is even tread wear across the whole tire and more consistent straight-line tracking when you’re towing.
With the spring seats welded to the underside of the axle, your trailer rides a little lower. That drop makes loading and unloading easier because you’re lifting less height off the ground—and ramps sit at a gentler angle. It’s a small change that makes trailering jobs go more smoothly every time.
Dexter welds the spindles, brake flanges, and spring seats directly to the axle tube for solid alignment and long-term strength. This setup eliminates extra steps during installation and helps ensure everything stays straight under load for miles of stable towing.

Works great, no issues at all
I purchased an axle and axle bolts. My order arrived quickly and everything was as it should be. I'm very happy with etrailer and will buy from them again
Shipping carrier nicked the wires for the electric brakes and lost spindle protection cup and the brass colored locking device for the hub nut.
One word, FANTASTIC! The #5200lbs Dexter axle was a perfect fit period! The axle came with all factory stickers and serial numbers to further identify the correct part. Shipped in a good time given that the part wasn’t in stock but the wait was worth while.

Great product used to replace the original Dexter agricultural style axle. Had no issues attaching to the trailer, and no problems supporting load. Would purchase again the next time I build/modify/upgrade a trailer.

Product has held up well over the past year in service without any issues towing cars, agricultural equipment, lumber, etc.
I lent out a 10000 lb. Trailer to a friend who overloaded it to the point the axle bent. I purchased one from etrailer along with brakes, drums and spring bolts. etrailer was there with good advice and guidance so the job was not hard and was done right the first time. Now I have a solid trailer with good brakes, I do not lend it out anymore.
These axles are of excellent quality. They are a replacement for 3500lb axles which proved to light for my loads. I've bought trailer axles from etrailer in the past with great success and plan to buy additional to complete my trailer upgrades.

Working great. Handling the heavier loads.
After a rust related axle failure, my equipment trailer was down. (If you roll in the rust belt, check your axles near where the brake wire goes through)
After checking my local source, I was told there was a long lead time for new axles due to the pandemic.
I was so happy to find etrailer. They had the exact axles I needed. After I pulled the axles I realized I also needed hardware and u-bolts.
Everything arrived ahead of schedule, allowing me to get back up and running quickly.
