E-Z Lube-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Dexter trailer hub assembly 42655UC1-EZ is great !!

by:

Fit perfectly, went together easily, trailer works great. No more goofy MH hubs and wheels.

needed a new hub asembly for a 2003 Four winns trailer. got great customer support sorting out the right hub. got a great price. shippied quick. wish it included a new lock washer as i did not think of it till i put it on -but overall i'm a fan of e-trailer!

by:

This hub is complete and ready to install, just grease the bearings, install the seal and install this hub. This would make an excellent backup hub with packed bearings in a ziplock bag and it is ready for a quick field replacement.

by:

Last year, I completely overhauled my Myco triple axle trailer that sits under my 47' Fountain. Trailer and boat weigh just under 20,000 lbs. so having all wheel and brake components in top shape is critical for safety. I replaced everything down to the axles, ie: hubs, bearings, seals, rotors, calipers, brake controller, etc. I purchased everything from eTrailer.com. Shipping was very fast and not only were their prices a third of what Myco wanted to charge me, but any issue or question I had during the process, their customer service was always helpful. Very happy with eTrailer.com and I'm confident that my trailer is safe.

by:

Hubs are good but the studs were too short for a disc brake rotor using a aluminum wheel.I had to source longer studs.

by:

As usual, eTrailer delivers an excellent product at an excellent price. Service and communication are top notch. They always get my business for all my trailer/towing needs.

by:

Good Job EtrailerI ordered 3 tire and rim packages with a couple of hubs for converting the modile home axle under my trailer to a normal lug hub. Just put them on tonight and hubs and tires spun centrally and were very smooth. The hubs were included in oversize boxes for the tires. The boxes were a little beat and the bearing kits were rubbing on the metal parts inside. Just a little more packageing would have prevented a little wearing on the small parts. Sorry guys, the tape just doesn't keep the parts in place to prevent damage. Good job E-trailer

by:

Just what I ordered

  • Replacing the Axle on a Gooseneck Horse Trailer
An axle flip kit like part # K71-384-00 will raise the trailer the diameter of the axle plus the height of the leaf spring pack. I do have options for you but rotating the axle to where the bend faces the other direction is not one of them. The bend in the axle will actually straighten out once a load is placed on the trailer and if this was reversed, the axle would lose capacity. Now from this point forward you have two options both of which entail replacing the axle. Since your current...

  • Determining Correct Axle Upgrade For 2018 Grand Design Imagine Travel Trailer
I would be happy to make a recommendation for upgraded axles and suspension components for your 2018 Grand Design Imagine 2670MK, but first I will need a few measurements from your current components. Starting with the axle you will need to measure your current axles from hub face to hub face and from spring center to spring center to determine the correct length the replacement axle would need to be. For example the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles - 89" Long - 5,200 lbs...

To convert your offroad trailer to the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - 4" Lift Spindle w/ Brake Flange - 5,200 lbs # TASR5200S03 you will either use a crossbrace for your trailer frame at the axle location or you will add a 2 inch square tube between the assemblies (not included) into the integrated holes of the assemblies. This will give you much more ground clearance than a standard axle and will also include the suspension needed. Unfortunately that 5,200 lb Timbren...

  • Lug Nut Torque for 1/2 Inch Hub Lug Nuts which Steel or Aluminum Wheels
The Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 5,200-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 6 on 5-1/2 # 8-213-5UC1-EZ with your added rotors will be torqued to between 90 and 120 foot lbs. If you switch to aluminum wheels like the Provider ST235/80R16 Radial Tire w 16" Viking Aluminum Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2 - LR E - Silver # A16RTK6FPS then the torque would change to between 90 and 100 ft lbs based on the aluminum wheels. • Hub And Bearing Replacement For A 5,200 LBS. Mobile Home Axle
I do have a hub and bearing assembly that will allow you to replace the hubs on your mobile home axle however, mobile home axles are intended for a one time single use only, therefore there is a limitation to readily available replacement parts. When changing the hubs and bearing on a mobile home axle it is important to note the condition of the spindle. A discoloration or nicks/scarring on the spindle are a good sign of needing a replacement. Installing new parts on a damaged spindle...

  • Axle Recommendation for Trailer Carrying 9,000 Lbs
Since you mention that your trailer will max out 9,000 pounds, which I assume includes the weight of the trailer frame and all cargo, I recommend going with the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension, # ASR5200S01. I spoke with my shop manager regarding whether he felt using the 5,200 pound axles would be overkill. He strongly recommends going with an axle that has a higher capacity than the amount of weight that you plan to carry and feels that the 5,200 capacity axles would be a good choice....

  • How to Use a 3,500Lb Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System with 6 on 5-1/2 Inch Bolt Pattern
Yes, there is a 3,500lb Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension that will allow you to use trailer hubs with a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern but you will need to use the Heavy-Duty version part # ASR35HDS01. This system has larger spindles which will be compatible with trailer hubs that have the bolt pattern you requested. If you just need idler hubs and do not have brakes then you can use the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # 8-213-5UC1-EZ which uses a 25580 inner and LM67048 outer bearing....

I would love to help but we do not have any trailer hubs that correspond to the dimensions that you provided. Therefore, the only option we can offer you would be to replace the axle all together. In order to offer a replacement for this we would need to know your spring center and hub face measurements (see photo). Your photos did not come through but I think I can still answer your question. The hubs you get must be compatible with your spindle, and that means you will need to look at your hub bearings; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use a digital caliper and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings and grease seal ride.
