Question:

Im looking at the Demco Spare Tire Carrier for up to 4inch Tall Trailer Tongue - Black. It appears to be the same as the silver version with exception to one key detail. The black secures around trailer tongue up to 4inch tall x 3 1/2inch wide while the silver secures around trailer tongue up to 4inch x 4. I need the 4x4, but would like it to be black. Is what is stated on website page for black true? They are essentially the same product/model, I am surprised that they have different dimension specs.

I was able to determine the information on the Black # DM15851-76 spare tire carrier was incorrect. It is the same carrier as the Silver # DM15851-52 with the only difference being the color. Both of these fit a trailer tongue up to 4" x 4". Thank you for pointing out the error on our site as I have had this corrected.

I'm still confused by all this discussion! Will this mount to my Class C 4"x4" rear bumper without any modifications? One says yes, one says no, you say you've corrected the problem? Please verify. Thank you. Steve K

@SteveK the # DM15851-76 and the Silver # DM15851-52 both fit a trailer tongue up to 4" x 4".

@JamesonC Then why bis your website still showing part pictutes that will NOT fit a 4x4 bumper? I've purchased a.lot of stuff from trailer. But this issue is not helping my confidence. Send me a link showing a properly dimensioned part. Thank you

@Steve okay sorry about the confusion. I took Bud's word above as he normally is very accurate and diligent but it looks like he was misinformed and you are correct the max width frame it can fit on is 3-1/2 inches.
