Hello everybody, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at the Thule Xadapter 7 Explorer load bar adapters for ski racks. Now folks, this adapter, as they call it, ensures you'll be able to mount those ski racks to the Thule Exporter height adjustable load bars, specifically Thule's ski racks, TH91724, TH91725, and TH91726 ski racks. So they're calling it adapter, it really is just looks like eight of these longer bolts. And as you can see, they have a special security head on 'em. So make sure you have that tool, you should have it already with your equipment that you installed originally.
These, again, are just longer bolts to adapt those. So that's gonna wrap it up, just a quick look today. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.

Perfect fit to adapt to my SUV
Exactly what I needed for my Thule Hull-A-Port Pro Kayak carrier. These bolts allowed me to assemble the kayak J-Hook carriers onto the crossbars of my kayak trailer. Perfect fit.
I used the XADAPT2 kit to convert my Thule Bigmouth bike carriers to fit the OEM Volkswagen cross bars on my 2016 Jetta sedan. The bike carriers originally had clamps to fit the Thule square cross bars, and this kit allowed me to convert the carriers to fit in the T-slots of the VW cross bars. The kit was originally designed for older VWs, but the T-slot dimensions have not changed for the modern VW cross bars. I would venture to guess that the kit should work for the OEM cross bars of any modern VW rather than just the Jetta, since the VW bike carriers are not model specific. A great quality kit, and perfect for my application!
Very good quality product with a little problem. Track is connected to a bracket by one bolt and the bolt was getting loose. I had to buy a little bit longer bolt, use a spring washer and washer, problem solved. See picture. Assembly instructions could be better.
I used this to fit an old (1994) Thule Big Mouth bike rack to a factory 1994 VW Jetta Votex roof rack. The bike rack was originally fitted to a Thule square tube rack. Fits perfect, but has many extra parts. The only parts that were needed my me were 3 square plastic tabs and 3 of the "T" bolts, so there are many left overs, but for the price I don't think I can complain much. I'm glad the kit was available.
Instructions were pretty useless.
Adapter works perfectly on 2020 Audi Q5 (VW) But didn’t need all the xtra hardware for Thule Big Mouth bike rack. (Ca 2003) . 3 of the short bolts per unit did the trick and of course the rubber inlays to prevent scratching and rattling are perfect.
These were exactly as described and solved the problem we were having trying to get our Hullaport to fit the rack on my Audi Q3. Now the Hulaport mounts on the rack with no problem at all! Excellant service and fast shipping.

Well, if you rely strictly on the Thule instructions, you're in for a real treat. I would actually claim it would be nearly impossible to install your 599XTR on aerobars using just those instructions. I ended up looking up some accompanying videos online to assist with my conceptualization of the install process. Once I figured it out, it was VERY easy to install the adapter kit and the 599XTR Wide Mouths. Nice engineering.

Used to mount a bike carrier onto my 2020 Tesla Model Y roof rails. The carrier was an older Mini-branded model and had bolts with heads that were too wide for the Tesla roof rail tracks. These adapters did the trick.
Exactly what I needed.
I purchased the THXADAPT3 to be able to install my Thule 834 hull a port kayak rack onto the 1.5" square bar of my Adarac Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Steel with Aluminum Crossbars.
I believe it will work but I wish the bolts were a bit longer. See images.

Hats off to etrailer for carrying and timely delivery to get parts for things I need. I had these bicycle racks for a while and lost two of the adapters in a move. I used the adapter to fit a Thule Peloton bike carrier (previously used with square Thule load bars) to the factory roof rack on our Mini Clubman. The adapter works out well in this application; the only thing to note is that re-using the round-head bolts that came with the Peloton carrier with the thick vinyl-coated bracket in this adapter kit results in VERY little room to fit the nuts that hold the bracket on -- it just about works, and seems to do so safely, but it is a very tight fit.
I used this adapter kit to mount Thule SUP Taxi to my Thule TracRac - TracOne racks. The original SUP Taxi mount-straps were not long to fit these racks, even though the buyers guide indicates they are. This adapter kit made it possible to secure the SUP taxi right to the bar. So glad you had this available! Now I'm ready for our trip to the FL Keys!
The Thule Bike Rack Adaptor to go from square bars to aero cross bars was an easy purchase. Otherwise, I would have had to two new bike racks. It saved me a lot of money! etrailer.com was a great place to buy the needed parts, and they were quick with shipping them to me. The XADAPT2 works as designed. I ordered one to install a 1994-era Thule 599 Upright Bike Carrier (predates the 599xt and 599xtr Big Mouth carriers) onto my new Thule Aeroblade load bars. Earlier, I installed the Aeroblade load bars and 480R Rapid Traverse Foot Pack onto my car, so now those adjustments were already made. Later I took the bars off the car until I was ready to try the upright installation.
I placed the bars with foot packs across a couple of wooden chairs in sawhorse fashion, which was much better than working on the floor. I printed the XADAPT2 instructions from the Thule website, laid out all my parts, and went to work.
The XADAPT2 contains everything you need. Fortunately, the Thule mounting plates have stayed basically the same since the original 599 upright. The cam handle (lever) that came with the XADAPT2 is slightly different from my originals and actually easier to clamp down. You don't have make full 360 degree turns as you seek the right clamping pressure like the earlier design. This is especially helpful because the XADAPT2 spacers add enough shim height that the clamp is either too tight or too loose. With the 180 degree turns you can get the right amount of clamping force without risking damage to the Aeroblade bars. I like this newer style lever so much that I was able to order some to use on the front plate.
