Load up for a weekend adventure with this economical, roof-mounted Yakima RocketBox Pro cargo box. This box offers 14 cubic feet of exterior storage space for your luggage, sports equipment or other gear.
This cargo carrier installs in minutes with an easy-to-use clamp system. The clamps slide along tracks inside the box to accommodate your vehicle's crossbar spread. The jaws tighten onto your crossbars with hand knobs and are secured in place with the turn of a dial.
This box interferes less with your rear hatch than standard boxes. The rear mounting clamps can be positioned close to the rear of the box, enabling you to mount the box toward the front of your vehicle.
To ensure the security of your gear, the cargo box has two keyed locks - one per side - with Yakima Same Key System (SKS) lock cores. These lock cores can be swapped out to make all your Yakima locks keyed alike. Large push buttons on the locking mechanisms make it easy to lock and unlock the box.
The cargo box lid opens from either the driver's side or the passenger's side for maximum accessibility and convenience.
The interior of the cargo box includes four anchor points so that you can tie down your gear. The anchor points are built into the sliding mounting clamps that attach to your roof-rack crossbars, allowing you to reposition them to accommodate your cargo.

The box also includes SKS lock cores and interior anchor points to secure your gear.set up was a snap , installation was easily done by myself. loaded 90% of my camping gear into it. small amount of wind noise but it hung on and never moved. we literally got it installed it packed it and went camping and for two days it rained. the unit is not meant to be water proof but there was no water in the unit. We absolutely love this unit the key and button design works very well from both sides which if you have a tall vehicle and cant reach over, makes getting to everything very easy. On our Kia Rondo this unit is a winner.
Nice product. It attached to the factory crossbars on my 2008 Rav4 without a problem.
Perfect fit on my 2014 Jetta Sportwagen. Lets me accomodate my lighter weight camping gear and leave the heavier stuff in the car. Very secure and aerodynamic and had very little impact on my mileage. My only issue was I could never find the serial number on my rocketbox.
Pretty good. The locking mech is a little funky but it swallows the beach chairs and other sandy stuff no problem. Make sure you watch the videos Yakima has on YouTube. They are very helpful for first timers. I found that if you use the Yakima website to get the part list right you can order wherever you want. Yup can even pull into the garage. My only gripe is that etrailer showed all parts in stock but several pieces were actually back ordered. Luckily everything arrived in time for my trip.
Terrible build quality , crooked label, lock /latch does not work unless I remove backplate, after a couple times of opening and closing rivet came off latch. For $[XX] would think bettet quality. Seems like Harbor Freight
Fits perfectly on my 2015 CRV Touring, and it rides very well. Space is great, and it's easy to put on and take off. Service from etrailer, also, was outstanding.
Finding a roof top box that fits a particular vehicle can be challenging; especially when you're trying to avoid the tailgate hitting the box while maximizing space! I was very happy with etrailer and their ability to help me through the sizing process to ensure a perfect fit on my wife's 2019 Acura MDX. The customer service was superior to most businesses I deal with these days and I will not hesitate to purchase from etrailer in the future.
Was surprised by the quality of free shipment. The cargo box was strapped to a pallet with shrink wrap.
Easy to install thanks to the etrailer video. I have used the Yakima box on many long distance trips including driving from South Carolina to Yellowstone. My gas mileage does go down a bit as expected, about 3 mpg.

Holding up well. Using it for camping trips.
Utilized it for a 2000 mile trip no problems had high winds and it still held steady. Especially liked the ability to open on either side. Also went through snow and rain without any leakage.

We really find this cargo box extremely useful. It is easy to put on the car. (2014 Acura MDX with standard factory roof rails) It holds lots of stuff and has made camping trips and road trips.
The cargo box arrived in less than a week-- it went together without need for any tools--everything fit together perfectly-- and it installed easily on the factory racks on my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and rides solidly at 70 mph with minimal wind noise

I've taken one 1500 mile trip so far with the Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 mounted on my RAV4. I found the box to be quiet and not to have much impact on gas mileage. I lost maybe 1 mpg with it mounted to my flush mounted Whisperbars. I drove through some very heavy rain and had a minimal amount of water inside under a thin rubber mat I had placed on the bottom of the box; none on my luggage got wet. This box works great to give me more carrying capacity when traveling with my two crated Dobermans.

Ive taken the cargo box on a couple more trips and its worked great. I really like that it can be opened from both sides. That feature comes in handy when someone parks too close to you on one side. You have the option to unload your gear from the other side.
Very roomy and easy to install on our Yakima roof rack. Perfect for a family vacation.
Does what it was designed to do. Easy to put on and take off. Sometimes I have to play with the lock to get it to turn but other then that it’s a great product.
Great fit for my CRV. Used on multiple camping trips so far and love the storage capacity.

The RocketBox Pro14 cargo box was a great acquisition. It worked perfectly with my factory rooftop rack on my 2004 Toyota 4Runner. It remained firmly in place for a 1,000 mile plus trip to Florida and on our return. I could not be more satisfied as the box handled a fair amount of cargo freeing up space for two passengers and a dog. Will be loading up again this year for another trip to Florida. The box is easy to load and fasten and is most secure when in place.

Worth every penny. Used the cargo box atop my 2004 4Runner with factory carrier racks for two trips to Florida and back to MD. NO issues. All contents remained dry and safe, that’s over 4,000 miles of travel.
