Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at these Yakima Replacement SuperLatch Handles. These are going to replace two of your SuperLatch handles for your Yakima SkyBox or SkyBox Pro cargo box. These will work with all models of the SkyBox or SkyBox Pro from 2009 and newer. So this is going to allow you to open and close your SkyBox from either side.
So very easy to get your SkyBox functioning again, if the original handles have become damaged or no longer operating properly. This will function just like the original. It's got the built-in SKS locks with the included keys that allow you to lock the box and they do include instructions to walk you through the process. Very simple to get these installed, pictures are very clear in how to do that. So, if you are needing to replace those original SuperLatch handles for your Yakima SkyBox, this is going to be exactly what you need.
You'll just unscrew the originals from inside your SkyBox and then put this in its place and screw it in. So, just the basic explanation of the installation but the instructions are a little bit more detailed for you. So, if you are needing to replace those original handles even if it's just the one, this will be a great option for you and then you'll have an extra one on hand if you we're to ever need that one as well. Broke key off in original lock. Ordered these replacements. Quick delivery. Clear instructions. Took a bit to get the one with broken key out to replace but was able to do it. Year later and both locks still working great. Worth every penny.

Very happy, i had bought the yakima cargo roof rack from a car dealer friend knowing on of the locks was missing. The other had a key but it doesn't go with that lock. I bought a set of new barrel locks for the latches. But installed them snd the latches still didn't work, so i told my wife i didn't trust those latches. So bought yours and all is good. Now i can pit it up to the ceiling in my garage. We'll probably it will stay till i die thank you. Leon
The replacement locks worked as described—installation was a bit more hands on then I expected.
These Yakima replacement handles were just what I needed after one on my Skybox failed. etrailer had them in stock at a great price and shipped them out quickly. I feel like I have a new cargo box.
We had a key break off in one of the locks, swapping out the locks was very easy to do. Although the product was back-ordered for several months e-trailer staff kept me up to date and offered some alternative options. I will be ordering other products through e-trailer.

Bought a used Skybox 12 that opened from only one side. Bought these new latches and it works like new now. Etrailer customer service and status updates are the best in the industry.
Part worked exactly as expected. I can’t believe the quality of service this company offers. I had to wait almost a year for this due to availabilty issues with Yakima. The folks at etrailor offered a similar part to speed up the process. I declined and said waiting was fine. They regularly checked in with me to give updates over the months I waited. Truly exceptional customer service.

Switched cars on a camping trip and forgot my key to the roof pod. Ruined the lock while trying to pick it (yes I succeeded!).
Searched the web and found these replacement handles. They arrived promptly and the switch out was a breeze. Basically two screws per side, and the handles mount into the existing latch mechanisms.

It took a very long time to get these handles (5 months?) but this wasn't e-trailer's fault. Yakima was very slow in processing the order. What I liked was Greg would follow up with me every so often and shoot me an email letting me know that they hadn't forgotten about me and that as soon as the product was available they would ship it. I appreciated the communication updates.

The replacement handles are working fine. I want to again that the staff at etrailer for helping me obtain them. Great Customer Service.
A little tricky to get in considering the lock was broken in my old lock but with some force and patience I was able to get it in. Works great now.
I had to replace the lock mechanism on my Yakima cargo box and was able to get the parts from etrailer super easy. Both locks replaced very easy, good instructions and was happy to see they came with new lock cores and a set of keys.

We had a key shatter in the original lock box. Didn't want to risk only having one side working. Our local locksmith recommended etrailer. Delivery timing was prompt. Pricing was great, considering what we paid for the Skybox in the first place. Directions on replacement steps were easy to follow, once we got past the part where our lock wasn't going to open at the start, as described in the first step. We opened the working side, pressed (hard) both internal levers from the inside of the non-working lock at the same time, and got the latch to pop open. Then proceeded with the provided directions from there. Glad to have our box functional again.

Just got finished installing these, after breaking a key off one of the originals and failing to drill out the core. It took a while to get them because They were back ordered at Yakima, but eTrailer kept me updated all during the delay. I’m very impressed with their personal service and would not hesitate to order from them again.
I used these to replace worn out handles on my Yakima Skybox. The instructions are included and it was very easy to replace. Box is like new again. Due to the manufacturing of using plastic parts, the handles will eventually wear out and will need replacement. If you plan to keep the skybox for a few years, it would be good to keep an extra pair on hand for repairs. Yakima sometimes doesnt have them in stock and backordered.
