Question:

I have a Yakima skybox puchased in 2016 from REI. It was in storage for a long time, and now both locks appear to by frozen. Not cold, but cant rotate key. Id like to replace both with the new Superlatch. Are the holes compatable? My old latch has a large red button.

I reached out to Yakima for help with this as it appears the Skybox # Y07334 has used the SuperLatch # Y8880348 since 2009. They informed me you most likely have the RocketBox # Y07192 as that is the model they have which uses the large red button. This handle does not have a replacement and you are not able to use the SuperLatch handle. Instead you will need to visit a locksmith to see about either freeing up the lock or removing the cylinder and replacing them with the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores # Y07202
