Hi, everyone. I'm Evangeline right here at etrailer. Today we're taking a look, a really quick look, at how the Yakima SkyBox NX Skinny box fits on a 2023 Kia Seltos. Now, this is gonna be a uniquely designed box where it's going to be a lot more skinny, so you still have space for the interior for all of your adventure items, but it won't take up as much space on your roof. Now, I currently have it on some 54-inch long crossbars, and you can see how much more space there is on the other side for all kinds of things. I personally like to go kayaking a lot.

I go skiing and snowboarding every now and then, and I could even put a really small rooftop tent on that end, which would be a really cool setup. Now, this of course depends on what type of cross bars you have. So check out the different custom-fit options for your Seltos right here at etrailer. I currently have the Thule ones, but this will also work with Yakima or other brand roof racks as well. Now, I do like that even though this is a longer box at 84 inches, this fits really well on the car.

If I was in the passenger or driver's seat, I would barely notice the box, and if I needed to get access into the hatch area, I would still be able to open up that hatch. See how much space there is between the box and the top of the hatch. And this is gonna be helpful because a Seltos doesn't really have that much room for cargo, much less If you needed to carry around some skis. You would have to put those on the roof, but you could put the suitcases in the hatch. Now, this box is gonna be more sleek and streamlined compared to the larger and taller Yakima SkyBox NX.

So this will add 14 inches to the top of your crossbars, Which is also important to know because if you have a low-hanging garage or a low bridge, you wanna be mindful of how tall the overall setup is gonna be. The good news is since the Seltos isn't that tall in the first place, I've never noticed any issues, even with taller cargo accessories than this one. Now, you're gonna have a pretty good amount of space. This does lock on both sides, and you do get two keys with this box. One of my favorite things about this box is definitely gonna be that nano-textured finish where you have that texture, but the box still looks pretty shiny and it has some easy to use clamps.

But my main goal here today was that you are able to see how it fits on the Seltos and what things you may need to help you get started on your adventure. If you're the type of person that likes to carry a bunch of different things, maybe you wanna carry around a kayak or you do have larger cargo, you can always use the SkinnyWarrior Basket in conjunction with this box to carry pretty much everything.
