Cargo boxes, bags, and baskets are great for transporting gear on your vehicle's roof. A cargo box has the added benefits of an aerodynamic shape that reduces drag and wind noise, a hard shell to protect your gear, and a higher degree of weather resistance. And you can latch and lock a cargo box for added protection against theft.
This cargo box has 9 cu ft of storage space for camping supplies, sports equipment, and other gear. The aerodynamic, low-profile design helps to reduce drag and wind noise. The lid opens on the driver's-side and passenger's-side for easy loading and unloading. The box has internal tie-down points for securing cargo, and it mounts to your crossbars with Memory Mount hardware.
The cargo box lid is constructed of durable, 2-layer ABS plastic. This makes it resistant to impacts, scratches, warping, cracking, and UV rays. The base is formed using an SPM injection-molding process that makes the box strong, durable, and lightweight. The injection molding also ensures a uniform thickness throughout, and its 50 percent stronger than a box with a vacuum-formed base.
The lid opens from both sides for easy access to your cargo. This ensures your gear is always close at hand whether you mount the box in the center of your roof or closer to the driver's or passenger's side.
The lid includes push buttons that allow you to easily open it with a single hand.
The cargo box has a safety lock system with locks on each side of the lid. The keys cannot be removed unless the box is closed and locked. This prevents you from driving off with an unlocked box. The locks also deny would-be thieves access to your gear and the cargo box's mounting hardware.
The box mounts with Memory Mount clamp assemblies for quick and easy installation. The mounting assemblies can be adjusted along tracks to accommodate different crossbar spreads. They thread through mounting holes in the bottom of the box and clamp to your crossbars. An integrated adjustment wheel allows you to tighten the assemblies for a secure fit without needing any hardware or tools. The Memory Mounts retain their position after the initial adjustment, so you won't need to tighten them again when you mount the box next time you use it. Once the clamps are in place and tight, the upper latch folds down, securing the clamps in place.
Two included tie-down straps let you secure your gear to 4 internal anchor points. Simply thread the nylon straps through anchor rings on the mounting plates and wrap them around your gear. The straps secure with buckles that can be operated with one hand.
Two strap hooks are also included. These hooks attach to the underside of the box lid and provide a place to hang the straps to keep them out of the way as you're loading cargo.

My first review was at one year, so far he actually had it for two years now. Still great with no issues. I forgot to mention before that I did switch out the bar clamps to the BRP12 mounting kit. It use T-slot hardware for a more secure hold, plus it occupies less space internally, win win.

A year in and the cargo box is still holding up. We’ve been on the road for 9 months now traveling across the US with the box. It has some scratches on it but still looks great. The hinges are intact. It’s very easy to open and close and surprisingly fits more stuff than I anticipated. Removing it from the car is so easy with the preset clamps. We take it off at every major city. I’ve cleaned it once but the bugs on the road are gonna do what they do. I could clean it more but the matte finish means you’ll see the hand prints or streaks. You need to clean it with a hose. If you distribute the weight evenly the car still drives relatively the same. It does mean you have to slow down through sharper corners a little more than normal but the wind isn’t a huge factor cause it’s thinner. Having the box does bring down your gas mileage, as any box would, but not as significantly. I drive a hybrid and still get 4-500 miles a tank with the stuff on top. We carry two foldable desks about 6” tall together, some winter car gear, an extra gas tank for emergencies, and some other small miscellaneous things. It’s light enough that I can take it off the car on my own but I recommend two people for ease. The dual side opening is a cool feature that has come in handy in tight spaces. I recommend a box of bungee cables to hold stuff down in the middle. The straps provided are fine but the bungees give you some tension that you don’t get with the straps. And they’re easier to work with.

Working great after a year! Ive used this for everything from golf trips in summer to ski trips in winter and it works like a charm! Streamlined for garage access but provides space for 2 snowboards and a set of skis or 2 golf bags easily.

Wow, that is such a good idea! I never would have though of paint matching -- it looks perfect! Those are some great pictures too. Is that a Tesla Model Y? It looks awesome!
