Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Yakima Replacement SkyBox Mounting Clamp. This is going to be a direct replacement from Yakima for the mounting clamp needed to install your Yakima SkyBox cargo box to your roof rack crossbars. This will work with all Yakima SkyBox rooftop cargo boxes, and it's going to be the exact same as the original. So it's going to allow you to quickly and easily install your SkyBox onto your crossbars.
The clamp will slide forward and backward to accommodate your crossbar spread. The cam action levers allow you to easily tighten down your clamps so that your box is gonna be nice and secure to your crossbars. So if your original clamp has become damaged or lost or whatever, for whatever reason you needed to replace it, this is gonna be exactly what you need. That's gonna complete our look for today. PERFECT!!! I recently bought a Yakima SkyBox Pro 21 used and, unfortunately, it did not have all of the parts needed to mount the box on my car. I ordered these replacement mounts and it had EVERYTHING that I needed to LITERALLY get on the road! Thanks etrailer! You all were the ONLY people that had these in stock (that I could find) and it shipped to my home in a very fast time!
eTrailer is great at ensuring long-term, positive customer experience! The representative occasionally sent me updated over 4 months until I was satisfied! I needed a hard-to-find part for my car rooftop carrier. The part was high quality & lower price than competitors.
When I was unable to find the large plastic nuts and ball the brackets to use my cargo box I was presently surprised to find that there was a new quick release mount for my Yakima. But when it arrived a was very impressed with the quality of the product. Had I known this was available I would have ordered a set long ago.

Product came quickly even though it was back ordered. Looks like there have been some minor changes to the design but nothing drastic. Purchased them as a backup part in case of failure of the originals that are still going strong after 15 years!

Great product but image that you have with the “H” shaped plastic is incorrect. It goes under the cam and not under the knob.
There is nothing wrong with my 15 year old skybox but after putting it in and off of all our cars over the years, lending it to neighbors, etc., I wanted to be certain that the clamps holding the box and all the gear up on the roof were in perfect shape after all those years. I looked at replacement boxes but why spend the money when the box itself has zero issues? I love that I can get replacement parts to essentially have a new box by replacing the guts without throwing away a perfectly good skybox. I also replaced the lid hinges on the same order. The pandemic caused a rush on Yakima parts with even Yakima support telling me to go to etrailer because Yakima restocks it’s resellers before it’s own inventory. Throughout the wait I received plenty of communication and was sent pieces of my rebuild as they came in. Great service and perfect replacement part.

Came as ordered 9 months later.
Yakima no longer makes the exact same part as the one that came on my pod. I called Yakima, and they said this was the proper replacement, but they didn’t have it in stock. They recommended I try etrailer. I easily found it on the etrailer website. Ordering was a breeze. Part arrived earlier than expected and It works perfectly! Couldn’t be happier.

I had lost a piece of my skybox mounting kit making installing it impossible. Finding the part turned out to be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Fortunately e trailer had the replacement kit and now my skybox is ready for ski season.
