Yakima no longer makes the exact same part as the one that came on my pod. I called Yakima, and they said this was the proper replacement, but they didn’t have it in stock. They recommended I try etrailer. I easily found it on the etrailer website. Ordering was a breeze. Part arrived earlier than expected and It works perfectly! Couldn’t be happier.1528508

There is nothing wrong with my 15 year old skybox but after putting it in and off of all our cars over the years, lending it to neighbors, etc., I wanted to be certain that the clamps holding the box and all the gear up on the roof were in perfect shape after all those years. I looked at replacement boxes but why spend the money when the box itself has zero issues? I love that I can get replacement parts to essentially have a new box by replacing the guts without throwing away a perfectly good skybox. I also replaced the lid hinges on the same order. The pandemic caused a rush on Yakima parts with even Yakima support telling me to go to etrailer because Yakima restocks it’s resellers before it’s own inventory. Throughout the wait I received plenty of communication and was sent pieces of my rebuild as they came in. Great service and perfect replacement part.1122456
