Versatile Bike Rack

Swagman Traveler XC2 2-Bike Carrier

This versatile 2-bike rack is perfect for use with your car, truck, or SUV, as well as your recreational vehicle. It mounts in your vehicle's 2" hitch receiver, or you can mount it to your RV bumper with the included adapter. To install the rack on your RV, simply slide the sleeve over the shank and insert the hitch pin. Place the included plate under your RV's bumper and bolt the sleeve to it.

Padded, Ratcheting Hooks

Swagman Traveler XC2 2-Bike Carrier

The mast has a pair of ratcheting hooks that hold your bikes securely by the top tube. And because they move independently, you can carry bikes of different shapes and sizes. The hooks have soft padding that won't scratch or scuff your bike's paint.

Sliding Wheel Hoops

Swagman Traveler XC2 2-Bike Carrier

The rack has wheel hoops that provide a stable base for mounting your bikes. Each hoop has a hand knob that lets you easily slide it along the tray to accommodate your bike's wheelbase.

Folding Design

Swagman Traveler XC2 2-Bike CarrierSwagman Traveler XC2 2-Bike Carrier

You can fold the mast down for easy access to the rear of your RV. Simply pull the pin at the base of the mast and fold it down in either direction. You can also fold the trays up against the mast for storage. Just pull the pins at the junctions where the trays meet the rack, fold the trays up, and reinsert the pins into the provided holes.

Works great! Our bikes have low cross bars so it took a bit to figure out the "sweet spot" for the holding arms. Finally get the bikes out of the camper when traveling; yipee!

by:

Bike Carrier works well. Quick and easy install and bike setup.
However, I had to modify hitch extension bar supplied by 2” to avoid handle bar coming in contact with camper.

I recommend using a hitch extender like part # HE06 as it will add 7 and three eights inches to the hitch. It will also through reduce the hitch capacity be 50 percent, including the tongue weight. You can secure it to the hitch with a hitch pin part # PC3 or lock part # e98880.

Nice bike rack. Assembled easily.

..we received our Swagman bike carrier in just 3 days after placing our order on a Saturday! We got our confirmation in minutes and the shipping info followed an hr later. WOW..great service !! The carrier was easy breezy to put together (approx 10 min) and then another 10-15 to place on the trailer bumper. We just got back from a week long trip..used our bikes every day. They were SO easy to get on and off. We wondered why we didn't buy from you sooner!!! All in all..a Great bike rack.

Hi Patrick! We still LOVE our Swagman! It goes with us on all of our camping adventures. Sometimes we see vehicles on the way.. with their bicycle tires flapping around and we always say..they should have gotten a swagman!! Ha ha. We will continue to share with our fellow campers how easy E-Trailer.Com was to use. Thanks for the email and your great customer service!Tamara C.Kennewick, WA

Good product and seems to hold the bikes pretty good. The only issue I have is that the handlebars from one of my bicycles hits the RV housing. If you get this product and install it, please keep in mind that you will probably have to pad the one side of the handgrip. I have a spare tire attachment as well that I had to move. No big deal. Just that it's covering up the license plate now. We'll see how long it takes the "fuzz" to pull me over and tell me about this. LOL!

Still working great! Havent been pulled over yet for partial blocking the RV plate. Still sticking to my original comment about padding the handle bars against the RV.

by:

I used this hitch in a very different way, I bolted it backwards to my deck plate on Peterbilt 387 tractor so that my wife & I could carry our bikes on our cross country runs. It works real well. After 8 years of use and the abuse of salty winter roads my first one was getting in tough shape so I replaced it with another new one of the same model. It's a very sturdy unit and gave me years of dependable service, would highly recommend it to anyone. Here is a photo of the old one in service a few months before I replaced it.

This hitch does a super job in a very tough environment being that mine is installed on a Class 8 vehicle, a Peterbilt 387, behind the cab

by:

can't use it with my Montana 3731FL 5th wheel, the bumper set a little under the back of the RV so I can't bolt the rack to the bumper.

I have looked through our other bumper mount hitch options that we have for an RV and most of them would still interfere with how your bumper is recessed under your trailer. I am sorry this did not not work for another option that you might consider would be a ladder bike rack. I have included those here for your reference. I did speak with our representatives at Swagman and if you have the clearance you can mount the receiver portion on the underside of your bumper, but that looks like it would be difficult as well. All the other RV bumper mounted hitch will need access to both sides to properly secure the hitch to the RV bumper, and I can see that you bumper may not provide that access.

by:

This is a very solid and heavy-duty bike rack. Mount to RV bumper is sturdy and secure with bolts to prevent rattling. Due to concern from stories of bumpers separating, I added two unistrut braces tying back to the hitch frame. Had to use bumper mount versus hitch to leave room for the spare tire mount.
I partly rotated bike handlebars closest to trailer (off-center from wheel) to prevent them from rubbing the back of the trailer. Good bike lock secures everything in place.

by:

Bought this Swagman bike rack so we could take our mountain bikes camping and use the rack on either our truck or our 5th wheel. It's a sturdy rack that's relatively easy to use. Releasing the hold-down hooks can be difficult at times, but not a big deal. Once you get the tire hoops set in the right position it's easy to get the bikes secured on the rack. In short, I would buy this rack again. There are some nicer racks out there that might be easier to use, but they cost a lot more. This one is the best bang for the buck that I've found.

by:

Made from solid and strong material. Easy to put together. Stable and looks very durable.

by:

Work great on the back of my 5th wheel to carry two bicycles

by:

I recently completed the assembly of the bike rack. The rack comes to you about 3/4 assembled. The process is fairly painless if you are just a little bit mechanically inclined.

I found the rack to be well made with some nice adjustable features. The clamps that hold the bikes in place are of two different sizes ( height or length). This allow us to use the shorter one on my wife's bike and the longer one on my bike. The adjustable wheel cradles are easy to adjust to different bike lengths.

Haven't driven down the road with the bikes loaded but I don't see any issue with the rack in that regard. I will be cutting a hole in a tennis ball to put on the handle bar closest to the back of the camper.

The rack appears to be solid. I did choose to go with the optionally available locking pin as well. This really solidified the feel of the rack.

by:

I was looking for a rack that minimize impact to rear-view window visibility, as my wife felt uncomfortable with the blockage caused by most racks. This was the only rack where there was no rise at all from the hitch - it comes flat because it's mostly designed for attaching to an RV. Well, the ground clearance is still a foot and that works fine. The rack appears very steady after the install. It also folds compactly when not in use. I have not yet had an opportunity to take it on a ride.

The instructions for putting the rack together could have been clearer, which is why I'm taking off 1 star.

by:

Great rack. Road well on the back of my travel trailer from Parker Az to Florida.

Still holding up. Have lost a bolt that holds the wheel braces but other than that no issues. We have taken the trailer and bike rack back across America this year and are currently in Montana.

by:

Bike rack was easy to assemble. We wanted a bike rack for our 5th wheel to fit on the bumper and still retain the roof ladder that's in the middle of the bumper. After tightening the hitch bolt, it is very sturdy.

by:

This was an extremely smooth transaction from purchase to product arrival. Etrailer.com kept me informed from order conformation to product shipment and shipment tracking. Staff was very helpful when I placed the order. The bike rack was exactly as advertised and in actual use, the only issue was with the innermost bicycle's handlebar came into contact with the motorhome (see attached photo). I resolved this by loosening the handlebars and twisting them to run parallel with the motorhome. Other applications may not have this problem, based on the design of the individual motorhome. I'm pleased with the build quality of the bike rack and I think I will get many years of reliable service from it. I would recommend both etrailer.com and this bike rack to anyone looking for a similar product.

by:

It is perfect for two bikes. The wheel holders are adjustable as well as the over-frame bars, which lock the bikes into position. It is rugged and durable and I would highly recommend it!

by:

Just got done installing it on my 5th wheel camper. All brackets seam to be solidly built and not wobbly.

by:

The bike rack is incredibly easy to put together. It was easy to install. I purchased the big tire accessory and it works perfectly for our fat tire sikk beach cruiser bikes. It folds up and stores easily. Great purchase. Also shipping was timely and without a problem.

by:

We received the above bike rack and found it easy to put together. We installed it yesterday and we are very satisfied. Going on the road soon, so can’t give a full review just yet. But, etrailer’s service is outstanding.

by:

This was exactly what I was looking for.... As always etrailer's packing and shipping was super.... Already attached the bike rack to the RV bumper and tried it on the 2011 Rav4 as well... In a word.... Perfect.... Thanks etrailer!

by:

Quick delivery, everything was there and it was easy to install.

by:

Works great, holds the bikes from the wheels with no movement. Took it on trails and the mountain bikes did not move.

by:

Love the carrier I had been on my husband for a couple years to get a carrier because he had been putting them in the back of the truck with a topper He is not getting any younger and each year was getting harder Finally convinced him Chose your carrier and he is well pleased and it makes it so much more enjoyable to go biking

by:

The bike rack was very nice. The construction was sturdy and easy to assemble. It really looks great on our new Jayco RV that we are getting ready to travel to Florida with. We can now travel with confidence that our bikes will arive safely with us in Florida. Thank you for a great product! We are very happy!

  • Can Shank on Swagman XTC Bike Rack be Installed Upside Down
The Swagman XTC bike rack # S64670 has a 3 inch rise in the shank. It was not designed to be installed upside down so I can't advise doing so. I recommend a rack that has a straight shank such as # S64663. You would use it without the bumper mount hitch it comes with. On it the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest wheel hoop is 8 inches so depending on the location of your front hitch receiver this could be a great option for you.

Both bike carriers are indeed approved for use behind an RV or trailer. The Swagman Traveler # S64664 will actually secure to a 2 inch square ball mount. This is a nice option if you plan on towing a trailer behind your RV while also needing to secure the bike rack. The Swagman Bike Rack # S64663, on the other hand, includes...
