Will Torklift GlowStep Revolution Uprising Steps Work for You?
Fold-down steps are typically installed on travel trailers and some RVs. The fold-down steps from Torklift lift up to latch into your camper's doorway for storage. To ensure you choose the correct size for your application, there are a few measurements you will need to take.
The Torklift revolution Uprising Steps install inside your camper's doorframe. Measuring for this may seem tricky, but once you know what to look for, figuring out the right fit for your RV doorway is easy.
First, you will need to measure the doorsill plate, both the height and the clearance between it and the bottom of the door. For the Revolution Uprising steps to fit, the doorsill height should be between 5/8" and 3/4", and the clearance should be at least 3/8".
Next measure between the door frame flanges - the doorway width - to determine the step size that will fit into your camper's doorway. You will need a doorway that is at least 26" wide for these steps to work.
If it turns out you have a narrower doorway, there are smaller step assemblies available that fit 24" wide doorways. A full list of the available steps is below.
The doorway threshold will be used as the "mounting point" to determine how many steps you will need.
How Many Steps Do You Need?
To decide on how many steps you'll need, measure from the mounting point to the ground. This is called the entry height. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended, and it will tell you how many steps you need.
The chart below displays entry height measurement ranges in the first column. If you determined you need a mounting bracket that fits a 24" doorway, the step part numbers with that width are in the second column. If you determined you need a bracket that fits a 26" doorway, the step part numbers with that width are in the third column. Choose the doorway width that is closest to your measurements without going over.

Hello, neighbors. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Uprising Steps with the Booster Step. So you're gonna get four steps with a fifth step being the booster step. It's a very simple pullout step, and it's gonna make it easy to get in and out of your trailer or your RV. And it's designed specifically for vehicles and campers and stuff that do not have a step well underneath the entryway.
So with that being said, they're gonna include this mounting bracket here, and that will match up to these prongs here on the step itself. And that's how you will get this installed and keep it in place whenever you are using it. Now I do wanna show you that booster step. So let me go ahead and give you a video of that real quick. So because I've got this leaned up on the table and it's not really attached, I need to be very careful.
So I'm using this video here that we had it hooked on something, just to show you. So you can simply pull that black lever on the bottom and spring load it, pull it out and down, push the black lever back in, and push it up and underneath. Now pointing your attention to those legs. You got the black foot plates there. Very nice.
It's gonna give you a nice footing. And on the tube, you've got those increments. It's a little push spring loaded pin. You can go up or down. It gives you seven and a half inches of adjustment, or rather 15 inches, sorry, including the step, and that drop in there.
So a very simple, nice set of steps. Again, adjustable legs. You have large rectangular footprints that provide level support, and help prevent sinking into the ground on those base steps as well. Now there's no assembly required. It simply comes out of the box like this. The landing gear even comes pre-installed on the bottom step. You have a locking tab up here, this little white guy here on the side. And that's gonna slide into that door frame that I was just showing you. And it's all going to snug in together, lock into place whenever you're using it. It also helps keep it from accidentally deploying. Now talking about this glow tape on top, I know you've seen these little green neon patches. Those are what's called "glow tape." And I'm pretty impress with these, because one thing I love about TorkLift is they have these little glow tape, they light up the step surface for safely entering and leaving the camper or RV at night. They simply adhere there from the factory, and they glow in amazing 10 hours with only five minutes of light exposure. I'm gonna shut off my overhead light so you can see them a little better. They're kind of hard to see in that image. So I'll go on the top view here as well. If you got one up here, I'm kind of waving my hand over it. One over here. And I'll zoom out with this lens filter here that I'm using today. You can see me a lot better, and also see the glow in here. So again, pretty impressive. Five minutes of sunlight exposure, or just light in general, and you get 10 hours of glow. So pretty impressive. And going back with my lights on here real quick. From the top down, again, there's that glow tape we just looked at. The tread, you kind of hear my fingernail running over that. It's got built-in tread that's been molded into the aircraft grade aluminum steps. And the sides, all these scissor ends here, all stainless steel hinges. They've been bolted together for easy add-on or removal, or replacement of individual steps. So yes, you can replace individual steps here. It's a very nice feature as well. And they have a bushing bearing that offers a much smoother action. They're longer lasting than your standard riveted connections like most steps out there have. It installs on your RV's door frame. It's gonna avoid damage to the floor or the exterior, and it's made here in America. Now the steps are 21 inches wide with eight inches, I'm sorry, 21 long by eight inches wide. And you must have a doorway entry width of 26 inches and an entry height of 34 and seven eights, all the way up to 42 and three eights. They have a rise and drop between the treads of seven and a half inches, and they're rated an impressive 325 pounds. Now I wanna show you how simple it is to fold these up. Keep in mind, I'm just leaning against this, so bear with me. Simply push it up, and you just pull down when you want to lower them back down. So again, very nice, simple to use. Lightweight. Limited lifetime warranty. Very impressive warranty by the manufacturer. And I do want to go back over here from the top down and show you it comes with an instruction manual, three different Allen wrenches, and all the hardware here needed to install it. I left that in the bag, again, due to space constriction and that kind of thing. Well, folks, that is gonna wrap it up for our look at this nice set of TorkLift GlowSteps. The package was not in the best shape upon arrival, but the steps appear to be unharmed. The installation instructions were laid out nicely and very clear.
Took me an hour to install the steps on our Winnebago Mini Drop WD1710. They fit with no alterations to the door frame.
They are sturdy and much easier and safer to enter and exit than the original single floating step.
One of the better accessories we've added to the trailer. Makes life easy unwinding and rewinding the bulky 50a cord. Easy install.live it !
The steps worked great. Good concept but unfortunately my wife could not raise them up by herself so we had to go back to the strut assisted steps that came with our RV.
