These crossbars are built to handle real-world hauling. The aluminum construction keeps the setup sturdy while staying lightweight, so you can load up kayaks, cargo boxes, or camping gear without stressing the system. With a 165-lb weight capacity, you get the strength to bring along everything you need for the trip ahead.
Nothing ruins a long drive like wind noise from the roof. The aerodynamic shape of these WingBar Evo crossbars helps reduce that drag and whistling. The top channels use split rubber strips that close back around your accessories, cutting down on vibration and noise while keeping the airflow smooth as you drive.
From a paddleboard one weekend to a cargo box the next, these bars adapt easily. The top channels work with both channel-mount and clamp-on accessories, so you can use your favorite carriers for bikes, skis, or outdoor gear without needing special adapters. It’s a flexible setup that covers every adventure.
Some racks require trimming rubber strips before mounting gear, but this design keeps things simple. The split strip system lets you slide an accessory into the channel without cutting or removing anything. Once it’s in place, the strip seals back up, helping keep things quiet and weather-resistant.
If you want extra peace of mind when parked overnight or at a trailhead, you can upgrade with Thule’s One-Key System (sold separately). It locks both the rack and any channel-mounted gear using one key, helping deter theft without complicating your setup.

How's it going, neighbors Today we're gonna take a look at the Thule WingBar Evo and see what it's made of and how well it fits on a vehicle. Today we're just gonna use a Jeep Cherokee to get a feel for how it connects to a raised rail system. But most importantly, adding a roof rack to your vehicle is going to allow you to take advantage of the negative space on top of your car. So let's check this thing out and see what it does for us. The WingBar itself gets its name from its shape. It looks like an airplane wing.
And what that does for you, it's gonna cut through the air and create less wind noise when you're going down the road. You also have access to your T track channel. So if you have T track accessories, you can slide those guys right into place. Overall, the aluminum construction is gonna be nice and lightweight and corrosion resistant while you're out in the world, putting up with the abuse of being able to, you know, be in all the elements as far as hot temperatures and cold temperatures. As far as the polymer that they use for the base, it's really similar to the same types that they use for the parts on your car that are exposed to the temperature.
So you don't really have to worry about it expanding or contracting and cracking and fading because it's designed to deal with, you know, the real world. Now, real cool feature here is if you have other Thule accessories, you can pop out this plastic lock core and switch it out for a single core system that will work with all your Thule bike racks and roof rack systems, so you just don't have a bunch of keys to fumble about with. Now as far as how it fits on the Cherokee specifically, you can see it wraps around your raised rails and grips pretty solid. So I think that when you have something like this it's super versatile, 'cause it's gonna allow you to use just about anything. So if you're going with a rooftop basket, kayak carrier, bike carrier, any one of those things is gonna work super well with the WingBar, and actually install super easy in the box.
You're gonna have the torque wrench you need, so grab a tape measure and I'll show you how to install it. Now, I've already put on the rear bar to walk through the process, and this is pretty straightforward. So we're gonna start right in here and remove our end cap. Thule gives you a strip to measure for your spread. And this guy's just gonna slide right on.
You have a little bit of a hook right here that goes into the track below, and you just guide it into place. And you're just gonna do the same thing on the other side. You're just gonna be able to pop this end cap off in a similar way. And from here you're gonna grab your tape measure and then make sure that you're at the spread that you're looking for for your crossbars. So I'm just gonna reach across and drop this on my bar and then lay it into place here. So from here I'm gonna grab my tape measure and make sure that I have the crossbar spread that I desire, as well as making sure my bars are even for tying down. So I'm just gonna go to the other side and do some measuring. So when you're tightening up, you wanna make sure you're going from the passenger to the driver's side, back and forth as you tighten it down, 'cause it kind of has a tendency to pull from one side to the other. Now that we got that click, we know we're nice and secure. And final step is gonna pop on that cover right here. Thule does a great job of creating a product that you can just put on your vehicle and get down to making memories. And personally, I'd love to see some photos of your roof rack in action because I just like having that interaction with you. Now again, this is Ed with etrailer.com, taking a look at the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack. Have a great day.
Ratings & Reviews
Recently purchased a Raised Rail Thule Crossbar rack for my 2021 Subaru Forester. Price from etrailer was the best I found. Ordered the unit and it was delivered in four days. Came as advertised with all parts and complete instructions. I was able to successfully install the rack in about 2 hours with the tool provided with the kit. Very pleased with both the rack and the service etrailer provided.
Thule makes, with a few exceptions, excellent products. These aerobar feet are sturdy and simple to install. I use them on a Ford Escape with factory bars. Based on appearance and function, they should fit a lot of factory bars.
etrailer, over the years has been a consistently reliable company to do business with.
The items are obviously solid and very sturdy. etrailer has done a fantastic job providing customer support and updating shipping information the entire way. Only reason I did not give 5-stars is because Thule charges extra for the locking mechanism when at this price point I'm sure they could be included at no additional cost.
Worked flawlessly on my suv. Securely attached my sea kayak to my existing roof rails.
Ordering was simple and any questions I had were answered quickly. Items arrived on time as promised
Installation instructions were clear enough, but no text (Ikea-like). The video instructions on etrailer.com REALLY helped, showing the products as well as the surprisingly easy install. These feet feel solid (as a rock). We'll see how they do when we go camping next weekend! Thanks, etrailer staff and user-reviews!
They work great! I just missed the fact that I needed to order the foot pad kit for my car as well.
Excellent Quality and was Easy to install the locks (purchased separately)!
Swapping lock cylinders with the Thule system is easy. I have several Thule products including bike rake with built in lock, locking cross bars for our cars, cargo box, and bought cylinders and the Change Key to replace cylinders so I only need one key for all our Thule products. etrailer delivered them fast.
My order was processed very quickly and shipped in a timely manner. Everything arrived in great shape. I am pairing my Thule crossbar kit with a Thule Force XT cargo box to increase my capacity for hauling camping gear for a family of 4 in a 2019 Subaru Forester. The installation and product review videos on your website are very helpful.
The Thule Evo Rail feet with 60" wing bars are an excellent choice for folks who routinely transport bulky equipment on their vehicle rooftops. The instructions for mounting were straightforward and easy (especially with the installation video link). I had to extend the slots under each wingbar to make them fit my 2004 Dodge Durango roof rails, but besides that, I'm thoroughly happy with the product. Do order the key locks separately, as they do not come with the feet.
The product was delivered quickly and it was easy to set up. Thank you
Installed these with the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars on a Mercedes GLS 450 SUV. It was a pretty quick install however, they impede the panoramic sunroof from opening. The locks that come with are plastic and they're okay, but I'd recommend getting the metal locks that you can order separately for more security. They do make a whistling sound when driving, but it's not loud enough for me to care. All in all, these are great.
Bought these for our Jeep Cherokee but they struggle to fit the wider rails on the vehicle. Have to lubricant these to slide on. Often the boot come off when removing them or just transporting them from storage to the vehicle. I wish the locked cover was made of something stronger since someone could easily break the plastic and use a Allen wrench to remove them rack and what’s mounted to it. Otherwise I’m happy with these. I like the size and torque limiting features of the included wrench
I really like the included tool used for tightening to the roof rails. I have a tendency to over tighten things and this tool prevents that from happening.
The roof rack fits well on my Honda Pilot. The customer service was exceptional. They were friendly and also professional. The items were packaged very well and arrived on time.
Not too difficult to put together (1.5 hrs approx. from scratch start to installed). The first time of measurements is a hassle as expected but not too bad. Looks cool and good as expected from a Thule product.
I needed to update the feet for my Thule areo blade cross bars. With ease I was able to swap the feet and transfer the locs to the new feet. The install was super easy. Finding the right product was a breez with a quick email to Etrailer customer service.

If you haven't been able to find it, we carry the replacement - part # TH49VW. One of the nice things about Thule is that almost every part is replaceable. :)
I’ve been searching for a set of crossbars for my 2021 Crosstrek. After looking at several different companys,, I decided to go with etrailer.com and get the Thule Wingbar Evo Crossbars and Evo Raised feet. Ordering was quick and shipping was even faster! Installed them in about an hour with no issues. I love the way they look, and the construction is solid. Shout out to the staff for doing a great job and for the great communication from placing the order, confirmation, updates and shipping the order. You will not be disappointed!
Perfect fit and the installation video made it extremely easy for me to follow
This is my first Thule product but not my last. etrailer was great to deal with the videos on how to install the product were so helpful. Between etrailer's help and all the reviews that other people had purchased and posted made this a very pleasant purchase and install. I highly recommend etrailer and the complete Thule WingBar system including the keylocks that worked perfectly. I typically don't write reviews but this one was worth doing.
Thule IS in my opinion the Best in Rack systems. There very well made and are pretty stout for my application with a roof basket. 52” X 80” Money well spent!! Thank You etrailer for The Best Service!
Thanks to etrailer.com, I found out these crossbar systems are just bags of interchangeable parts! So glad I didn’t toss my 2019 53” crossbars when they started whistling (Screeching!) at speeds above 45 mph. I had them removed from my ProMaster City van when I couldn’t stand it any more. Luckily i did some research and took them totally apart. The old raised rail feet were pretty trashed, but was able to clean the bars up and reuse the existing end caps and locks. The video instructions on etrailer.com were invaluable, and I was able to find the exact parts I needed. My 2019 crossbar system is like new at a fraction of the price id have paid for a new system!
I had my old feet from my Jeep Cherokee on my Jeep Compass and realize they were not secure. So now I have the right feet on my car,

The raised feet help to bring the crossbars up in height so that when we haul our canoe it does not hit the top of the car. We are still enjoying the car now that it is accessorized.
