Would a 53 bar work instead of 60 for two j style carriers on top with the two kayaks?Thank you

The roof rack I recommend for your Odyssey is the Thule WingBar roof rack system. This system features the 60 inch WingBar crossbars which are some of the quietest on the road.

The roof rack has a weight capacity of 165 lbs, but you will want to make sure you do not exceed the roof weight capacity of your Odyssey.

To order this roof rack you will need part # TH710401, and part # TH711500 for silver or # TH711520 for black.

If you do not have carriers for your kayaks I recommend using two of the Thule Hull-A-Port J-Style Rooftop Kayak Carrier, part # TH834. You would have the option of carrying just one when you need it and adding the second rack for the second kayak. This carrier has a weight capacity of 75 lbs and weighs under 10 lbs. With the 60 inch wide crossbars you would have room to mount two carriers on the roof of your Odyssey.

The 53 inch SportRack system, part # SR1099, fits your Odyssey as well but it's a semi-custom fit and won't be as clean a look as the Thule WingBar system. But it will be enough to for two J-style carriers. I also recommend finding the roof capacity of your van and making sure it can handle the weight of both kayaks.
