Question:

'm sorry, I forgot to include a vital information to my question. I have in hand a ski rack Yakima Buttondown 6 that I want to attach to my Saab roof rack. I was told it's buttondown 6, I can't confirm it's really this model. I'm attaching pictures. I want to attach it to my roof rack, but the adapter is for the round Yakima bars. My car is Saab 9-3 2007 4dr with factory roof rack. The bars are rectangular size 1 1/4 by 7/8. I want to know which adapters to use for that. The Replacement Mounting Hardware for Yakima Roof Mounted Ski and Snowboard Carriers # 8830021 removing the plastic inner part or the Universal MightyMounts # Y03590?

For your 2007 Saab 9-3 with factory rails, I recommend the Evo Raised Rail Feet for Thule Crossbars - Factory Raised Rails - Qty 4 # TH710401 which is compatible with the bars you mentioned, that are often simply referred to as square bars even though they are rectangular by measurement. I also recommend the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders - Qty 4 # TH450400 for increased security.

The manufacturer suggests using 50 inch bars which have been discontinued with this system. You can use the 50 inch # INB127 for compatible bars.

The Universal MightyMounts for Yakima Roof Mounted Accessories # Y03590 are the best fit for the Yakima Ski and Snowboard Carriers.

I was able to reach out to my contact at Yakima and the hardware you want for best fit on your particular rack is the Replacement Mounting Hardware for Yakima Roof Mounted Ski and Snowboard Carriers # 8830021. This will be a better fit than the Universal MightyMounts # Y03590 for your application.
