When you’re loading up heavy gear like kayaks, canoes, or a full cargo box, the durable aluminum construction of the Thule WingBar Evo gives you the strength and rigidity you need. Each of the two 60" long crossbars supports a combined load rating of 165 lbs?— plenty for watercraft, camping gear, or luggage. It’s a solid foundation that keeps your load steady mile after mile.
Driving with roof gear shouldn’t be loud or distracting. The aerodynamic bar shape works together with split rubber strips that cover the top channel to smooth airflow and reduce wind noise. Those same strips also help limit vibration while you’re on the highway, so your ride stays quieter and more relaxed.
Whether it’s a weekend paddle trip or a winter ski getaway, these crossbars make it easy to bring along your gear. The top channels accept channel-mount accessories, while the bar design also works with clamp-on carriers. That means you can mount bike racks, kayak cradles, cargo boxes, or ski holders using the attachments you already own.
Some racks require cutting rubber strips to fit accessories into the tracks. The WingBar Evo skips that hassle with split strips that let you slide mounts right into the channels—no trimming needed. When your accessory is in place, the strip closes back around it to help block wind and weather.
If you want an extra layer of protection for your setup, you can add Thule One-Key System locks (sold separately). They secure both the rack and your channel-mounted accessories so you can leave your gear parked with more confidence during road trips or overnight stops.

Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna talk about the Thule roof rack on our 2022 Nissan Armada. Now this can be a great option if you're looking for something that's gonna be really easy to work with and is gonna look good on top of your roof. So let's check it out. Now, something I do recommend doing with these is just putting in your vehicle's information into our fit guide to make sure you get in the right one, 'cause you can get this in a couple of different variations. Now the one we have today is gonna be the raised rail option.
And why that's important is 'cause the Armada comes with that raised rail. And the way you can tell if you have that or not is if you put your hand underneath here, and as you grab onto this, you know you got it. Now what I think really stands out about this one today, or really any type of roof rack, is the ability to load up your roof, 'cause we have a lot of space in real estate here. And I like using this instead of the back of a vehicle because, let's say, you got a trailer that you're pulling behind you, or even a cargo carrier, that's really extending the footprint of your vehicle. So if you're trying to get into those tight spots, like a parking lot, that's gonna be a lot tighter to do, especially with this already large vehicle.
So with the vehicle already being large, you might as well use a real estate on top of the roof. So today we're gonna be focusing on how this roof rack interacts with a vehicle. And this is gonna come in two pieces. So up top, we're gonna have the crossbar. You can put gear on here one of two ways.
You need to have clamp-on accessories that grabs onto the rail. This is gonna be a fairly standard one, so most of them should work with this. And then here at the very end, if I flip this tab over, this will gain access to this T-channel, which you can mount accessories like this too if you don't wanna go with the clamp-on style. I like this 'cause this is really easy to work with. Other ones out there, typically you have to take this off completely.
This is taking a few steps out of the equation. Now underneath it, we're gonna have the actual towers. And with these towers, they're gonna have this hole here. You can put the plastic lock core that comes with your kit in here, or you can put a metal lock core. That's one I would suggest investing in. You can actually find those on our website. And why I recommend that is 'cause this is a fairly nice roof rack, you don't want that going anywhere. And you can also get this keyed-alike with your other Thule accessories. Underneath there, you can see what's here. There's gonna be a bolt that tightens it down into place. And this does a fairly good job, because when we look at how's it grabbing onto this railing here, we don't have any glaring gaps. And that's nice 'cause, one, it looks better, and two, it won't cause any wind noise. Now let's get a couple measurements to see how this is sitting on here. So the first one I'm gonna get is gonna be how high it sits up. So going from our rails here to the top of the crossbar, that's gonna be a little bit under three inches, which is a pretty good height. I still suggest getting the total height of your entire system. So what that's gonna be is your railings, your crossbars, and any gear that's sitting on top of them, get that measurement so you know if you're can make it under a low clearance spot like a garage. Now the next one we wanna measure is gonna be the clearance underneath our rails, and that's gonna be about 2 1/2 inches. That's plenty of clearance for any type of more bulky clamps that get on here. Now if your vehicle has a sun roof on the very front of it, then definitely take that into account because that might go up and make contact with something over here. But like I was saying earlier, the Armada has a ton of real estate. Right now, we're just using the front section of here. This is gonna have a crossbar spread of roughly 28 inches. So that's gonna be compatible with most gear out there. If we needed a wider one, we simply just move this back to the second section, over here. Or if I needed to pull the whole kit back some, I have the room to do so. Now, how much can you put on it That's really gonna come down to the weight capacity. It's gonna have a pretty sturdy weight capacity, but also check what your vehicle's roof is ready for. You can find that in your owner's manual. Then go from the lowest rated component so you don't damage anything. Now, in my opinion, I think this is a solid choice for what I was talking about earlier. One, it looks good on top of our roof, and it's just easy to work with. Especially when you're going out on a trip, you don't wanna have to fuss with something for another extra 20 minutes before you actually get out on the road. Now another option that's also pretty easy to work with is gonna be the Rhino-Rack roof rack. Now it's gonna be a little bit more low profile than this one. But for me, I personally just like the look of this one a little bit more, but it just comes down to aesthetics at that point. Now when it comes down as you're getting this on here, it's a pretty simple process. It only takes maybe about 10 minutes if you know how to do it. But if you do go with this, let's know how it's working for you in a review if it really is that easy to use or not. But with that said, let's jump in into the install. So where we're gonna start off is just laying everything out. So I'm gonna have the two towers, their end caps, the tool that comes with it, and the measuring tape. And we're actually gonna have the crossbar itself. Now I only have one set here. I already got the other one on the roof, but it's gonna be the same process. So where to start is just by flipping this over, so the underside is showing up. We're going to come to one end. We're gonna remove this end cap by pressing on that tab, pulling on it, grabbing a tower. You have these tabs at the very top of it and push it in this orientation where we have the head of this bolt facing out. What'd you have it like that, put you in cap back on, and repeat that on the other side. And now we can put it on top of our roof. Something I'll do though, just double check the gaps in between your clamps so it'll as you fit around your rails. And if they don't, you can just loosen up with your tool, and now get it up there. When you're putting it up there, you wanna make sure that fixed side is facing forward, thin side behind us. You're gonna place it on a roof by lining it up with your rails. If you can't really see what you're doing, just do it slowly and get one side on there, and then go to the other side and adjust it. And once you get both crossbars up here, what I like to do is make sure we have a good crossbar spread. And what I'll do is make sure they're even too. What I'm doing is just bring this to the edge of this bar that holds up your rails on either side. That's gonna work for me. But again, just double-check that this spread is gonna be compatible with your gear. And then the second measurement I like to make sure of is our overhang. So make sure this is about the same one either side. Mine is. So I'm just gonna come back over here with our tool and then tighten this down. And I'm gonna just do this a little bit at a time, going back and forth until we have this fully on. Now you're eventually gonna get to the point where you're gonna have a lot of resistance to this. You're gonna hear that click a couple times. Once you hear that, you know it's gonna be fully tighten down. Just make sure you're doing that to the other side. And from here, I'd have to give it a good shake test, make sure it's not gonna go anywhere. And if it feels good, we can load it up and take it for a ride. Now if you guys have any other questions, let us know here at etrailer. And again, I'm Matt, and thanks for watching.

I really like the included tool used for tightening to the roof rails. I have a tendency to over tighten things and this tool prevents that from happening.
So, etrailer has made the process of buying my 22 ford explorer Thule cargo kit. A couple of issues. 1) the lack of quality was not there the top weather stripping is short and leaves a gap maybe that is the cause of the whistling. I have tried repositioning and the rope trick. No luck. Getting a fairing that will have to dump another 200 to hope this helps.
2) little more thought into strap thickness. The 2nd rail is a little tough to get through the opening in the roof rack.
Seems a little picky about these things, but when you dump 1,400 for a cargo rack system you should be.
This was my first purchase of an expensive roof rack system. I never expected to have the problems I am. Unfortunately it’s so universal that there are gaps that are creating really bad whistling sounds. I wish I could return and get my money back.
I've owned this roof rack for a year now, and it has served my purposes (carrying my kayak around on my truck) quite well. It was fairly easy to assemble, largely because the entire instruction guide was in pictures.
I have had to retighten the rack a couple of times since putting it on the roof, so I tie the kayak down to the front and back of the truck as well as to the roof rack. I suspect the ocean kayak puts a bit of lift on the roof rack resulting in the loosening.
what can one say. etrailer has the best products at the best prices, great customer service with actual people that answer the phone and actually know what the heck they're talking about. My product was even delivered sooner than it was supposed to be. Sounds like a perfect business plan to me!
I needed to update the feet for my Thule areo blade cross bars. With ease I was able to swap the feet and transfer the locs to the new feet. The install was super easy. Finding the right product was a breez with a quick email to Etrailer customer service.

Still working great after a year.
The whole experience was freakin awesome.
* Ordered on-line, delivered when promised, all packages were in excellent condition, and all parts were accounted for - no shortages, THANK YOU!
* The Thule roof rack design, quality of materials, comprehensive instructions were really impressive. Everything went together without a hitch and really looks good installed.
* We plan on carrying our 12 1/2' SUP's on the roof rack when we head out to the lakes.
* It saves us time as our SUP's are inflatable, however it takes a bit of time to pump them up once we get there. Now it's just loosen them up and we're ready to go.
Great job etrailer, I would definitely buy more products from your organization!!
Easy to install with included instructions. Lost the torque key a day later

If you haven't been able to find it, we carry the replacement - part # TH49VW. One of the nice things about Thule is that almost every part is replaceable. :)
Sturdy bars. The rubber strip gasket eventually became loose and flew off down the highway. Options available to use metal locks w/ key, instead of the plastic locks.
I just installed these on my 2015 Odyssey's side rails.
Easy-peasy to install and appears to be quite solid.
Just not sure how tight I need to screw them.
It only took me 30 minutes to assemble and install the Crossroad feet with the 60" WingBar EVO. It will probably take me 10 minutes to move to another vehicle.
I chose the Crossroads for the ease of installation so I can switch them between our two Odysseys. When loosened for removal they also loosen the crossbar (60" WingBar EVO) which makes it so much easier to switch to a vehicle with a different width requirement.
Fits that requirement perfectly.
Will be loading the canoe on top this coming weekend. Looking forward to using these.
I’ve been searching for a set of crossbars for my 2021 Crosstrek. After looking at several different companys,, I decided to go with etrailer.com and get the Thule Wingbar Evo Crossbars and Evo Raised feet. Ordering was quick and shipping was even faster! Installed them in about an hour with no issues. I love the way they look, and the construction is solid. Shout out to the staff for doing a great job and for the great communication from placing the order, confirmation, updates and shipping the order. You will not be disappointed!
Easy to fit into the feet that are sold separately. No clue why the rubber strip just can't come already attached but it only takes a minute or two to put them on. Make sure before tightening the feet, the bars are even.
Perfect fit and the installation video made it extremely easy for me to follow
Just insralled the racks and J-Bars. Easy install, worked exactly as wanted. To out on freeway witth racks only, just some wind noise at 70. This is my second order thru etrailer. Both orders were great referrals, worked good, delivered witnin a few days. Thank you etrailer.
Great rack design. Fit my truck like a glove and holds two kayaks with no issues. I’m planning on installing a fish rod holder in between both kayaks.
The product quality seems great, and fit my Jeep Wrangler without having to do any drilling, or semi-permanent mounting of overly obtrusive cage type rack system. Tried mounting my Kayak on top and it seems like it's going to work for what I wanted it for. I especially like the fact that I can easily take the whole system off with ease as I would typically leave it on only in the summer.
Great product that compliments the look of my vehicle while serving a function. Initially, the product arrived missing some key parts, but the staff responded immediately to my email and took great care of me to ensure that my experience was completely satisfactory. Carol and Kelsey are truly attentive to the customer’s needs. Great job everyone!
Excellent crossbars for my 2020 JLU with sky top. Quality construction and I really like the swivel end caps to allow quick access to get things channel mounted quickly.
This is my first Thule product but not my last. etrailer was great to deal with the videos on how to install the product were so helpful. Between etrailer's help and all the reviews that other people had purchased and posted made this a very pleasant purchase and install. I highly recommend etrailer and the complete Thule WingBar system including the keylocks that worked perfectly. I typically don't write reviews but this one was worth doing.
Thule IS in my opinion the Best in Rack systems. There very well made and are pretty stout for my application with a roof basket. 52” X 80” Money well spent!! Thank You etrailer for The Best Service!
Thanks to etrailer.com, I found out these crossbar systems are just bags of interchangeable parts! So glad I didn’t toss my 2019 53” crossbars when they started whistling (Screeching!) at speeds above 45 mph. I had them removed from my ProMaster City van when I couldn’t stand it any more. Luckily i did some research and took them totally apart. The old raised rail feet were pretty trashed, but was able to clean the bars up and reuse the existing end caps and locks. The video instructions on etrailer.com were invaluable, and I was able to find the exact parts I needed. My 2019 crossbar system is like new at a fraction of the price id have paid for a new system!
I had my old feet from my Jeep Cherokee on my Jeep Compass and realize they were not secure. So now I have the right feet on my car,

The raised feet help to bring the crossbars up in height so that when we haul our canoe it does not hit the top of the car. We are still enjoying the car now that it is accessorized.
