These 53" long Thule WingBar Evo crossbars give you a solid platform to haul your gear. With a weight capacity of 165 lbs, they’re built from aluminum for strength and stability on long drives. Whether you’re loading up kayaks, canoes, or a cargo box, the sturdy construction keeps everything steady mile after mile.
Wind noise can get old fast when you’re driving with gear on top. The aero-style design of these bars helps reduce that whistling sound while you’re on the road. The top channels include split rubber strips that stay in place around your accessories, sealing in the gaps to limit vibration and wind noise as you drive.
Some racks make you trim rubber strips to fit your attachments, but these skip that step. The split-strip channel lets you slide in your channel-mount gear without cutting anything. The strip closes back around the mount when installed, keeping things neat and secure while staying easy to adjust later if you need to swap attachments.
Whatever you like to bring along—bikes, kayaks, skis, or cargo boxes—these crossbars fit right into your plans. They work with both channel-mount and clamp-on accessories, so you can use the carriers you already have or add new ones as your adventures change through the seasons.
If you want to lock it all down, you can add Thule’s One-Key System (sold separately). It secures both the rack and any channel-mounted gear with a single key, adding peace of mind when you leave your setup parked overnight or at a trailhead.

How's it going, neighbors Today we're gonna take a look at the Thule WingBar Evo and see what it's made of and how well it fits on a vehicle. Today we're just gonna use a Jeep Cherokee to get a feel for how it connects to a raised rail system. But most importantly, adding a roof rack to your vehicle is going to allow you to take advantage of the negative space on top of your car. So let's check this thing out and see what it does for us. The WingBar itself gets its name from its shape. It looks like an airplane wing.
And what that does for you, it's gonna cut through the air and create less wind noise when you're going down the road. You also have access to your T track channel. So if you have T track accessories, you can slide those guys right into place. Overall, the aluminum construction is gonna be nice and lightweight and corrosion resistant while you're out in the world, putting up with the abuse of being able to, you know, be in all the elements as far as hot temperatures and cold temperatures. As far as the polymer that they use for the base, it's really similar to the same types that they use for the parts on your car that are exposed to the temperature.
So you don't really have to worry about it expanding or contracting and cracking and fading because it's designed to deal with, you know, the real world. Now, real cool feature here is if you have other Thule accessories, you can pop out this plastic lock core and switch it out for a single core system that will work with all your Thule bike racks and roof rack systems, so you just don't have a bunch of keys to fumble about with. Now as far as how it fits on the Cherokee specifically, you can see it wraps around your raised rails and grips pretty solid. So I think that when you have something like this it's super versatile, 'cause it's gonna allow you to use just about anything. So if you're going with a rooftop basket, kayak carrier, bike carrier, any one of those things is gonna work super well with the WingBar, and actually install super easy in the box.
You're gonna have the torque wrench you need, so grab a tape measure and I'll show you how to install it. Now, I've already put on the rear bar to walk through the process, and this is pretty straightforward. So we're gonna start right in here and remove our end cap. Thule gives you a strip to measure for your spread. And this guy's just gonna slide right on.
You have a little bit of a hook right here that goes into the track below, and you just guide it into place. And you're just gonna do the same thing on the other side. You're just gonna be able to pop this end cap off in a similar way. And from here you're gonna grab your tape measure and then make sure that you're at the spread that you're looking for for your crossbars. So I'm just gonna reach across and drop this on my bar and then lay it into place here. So from here I'm gonna grab my tape measure and make sure that I have the crossbar spread that I desire, as well as making sure my bars are even for tying down. So I'm just gonna go to the other side and do some measuring. So when you're tightening up, you wanna make sure you're going from the passenger to the driver's side, back and forth as you tighten it down, 'cause it kind of has a tendency to pull from one side to the other. Now that we got that click, we know we're nice and secure. And final step is gonna pop on that cover right here. Thule does a great job of creating a product that you can just put on your vehicle and get down to making memories. And personally, I'd love to see some photos of your roof rack in action because I just like having that interaction with you. Now again, this is Ed with etrailer.com, taking a look at the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack. Have a great day.

Easy to install, looks like OEM equipment. Works great with the Aero Bar. Etrailers did a great job of getting this part when hard to find with all the demand. They tracked the package to my door!
The bars are strong and fairly quiet, especially considering that I mount them on the main cab of my pickup truck and not on top of the canopy. My biggest concern is that the rubber strip that runs the length of the bar to reduce wind noise was badly damaged when I slid my canoe up on to the bars. Given the weight of the canoe, I'm accustomed to getting one end on a bar and sliding it back into position. Given the sensitivity of the rubber, is started pulling away from the bar and shredding when sliding the gunwales over the top of the bar. I'll try to be more careful, but a roof rack needs to be more utilitarian in my humble opinion.
Very easy to setup and install. Very sturdy and the bars (also with Thule 450R CrossRoad Railing Roof Rack Foot Pack) handled my 14 foot 53 pound kayak with ease.
These feet connect well to the roof rails, but I didn't find them as easy to use as the older style I have on my other car. It took a lot of fiddling to get the rails and feet into the right position so the bars were centered and the end caps would snap on to the feet properly. I prefer the older ones where the base of the feet stay on the rail, and the top part of the feet stay attached to the crossbar, then you can pop the crossbars on and off very quickly. With these it will take monkeying around every time you want to take the rails off and put them back on.
Very easy to assemble and install. Seems very solid and quiet on my 14 Forester. Will be using Rhino-Rack Discovery bike carries in the rail and a yakima cargo box for ski's and misc gear.
Shipped by e-trailer within a couple of hours of my order being placed....hard to beat that.
We purchased a Thule roof storage system including the aero wing roof rack bars. It is a very good product. It holds a lot of gear and rides well on our 4runner. We have driven over 2000 miles with the Thule since we purchased it and haven't had a problem. My only knock on Thule's is that the keys take some finagling to slide into the locks. We also have a Thule trailer hitch cargo storage unit that purchased several years ago that are very pleased with except for the lock. I give it 4.5 stars.

We have logged about 15000 miles with the Thule roof storage rack and have not had any problems. It is a great product.
Impeccable customer service! First off, the etrailer.com site was super easy to use to find exactly which rack we needed for our make/model. Shipping was super quick. As soon as our Thule rack arrived, we put it on the car and zipped away on our first mountain bike ride. Rack is awesome -- exactly what we wanted and needed. It fits the car perfectly. We weren't sure if the Thule rack would accommodate two 29ers, but it does (with room to spare).
The feet are very sturdy and nice to put a strap around. The instructions didn't match the picture of what I was buying because they had a 28in gap between the front and the back feet but I actually needed more like 4 ft. so you can see I used something more like what the picture of a Leaf setup was on the etrailer website. The instructions were a little bit unclear about how the ridge on the bottom of the feet are to sit in the channels on top of the car but on the back rail I had to set the feet way outside the channels anyway. Still seems to be pretty solid
Purchased these foot packs and the Thule Wingbar Evo 135 crossbars. They're sturdy and very quiet. Didn't notice any noise or lag on the freeway. Very good website to confirm i had the right roof rack for my SUV. Videos were perfect and just what I needed to see. Thule racks were not in stock at the local dealers I contacted on Oahu, Hawaii so decided to pay for shipping. Total cost was similar to what I would of paid locally. George J informed me the same day I ordered on Sunday that the 4-pack of locks I also ordered was not in stock and did offer a 8 pack which I declined since I didn't need that many locks but it was nice that I was informed and wasn't going to be stuck waiting for the back order. I was able to get the locks locally and secured the racks to my SUV. Great customer support from George J, Teresa J to confirm my order change, and follow up from Carol C. You don't get customer service like this much anymore.
Great job Ashley
Thule is an excellent product and the fit on my 2017 Chevrolet Colorado is perfect. The good people at etrailer were super helpful in getting the correct fit parts to me as quickly as possible, especially during a tough year for all. I’ve found my Thule racks to be the perfect tool to take our kayaks on our adventures!
I recently bought a 2015 Subaru Forester and wanted to add a trailer hitch for my bike carrier and cross bars for the roof. I chose the Thule foot pack with Aero cross bars. The kit was easy to install and looks good on the car.
product and service was great. USPS however damaged the box but the product was undamaged
Great product. Successfully assembled and installed it myself in about 3 hours. A more detailed assembly video would be helpful. Other than that; I'm 100% satisfied!
These bars are light weight and easy to set up. However, the measurements in the directions were not right to fit them to my vehicle, and they were really difficult to adjust once the bars were on the roof. They seem to be snug on the roof and working well, I did a test drive yesterday at varying speeds and they are secure. They don't cause any unpleasant noise - you'd forget they were on there.
Looks Great works as described
It was just what I needed to adapt to my larger rails.
So far its the best roof rack you can get today! Had no issues when driving through rugged and bumpy terrains all day.
Items arrived later than expected despite cancelling an month long order due to waiting stock on a different set up that was in stock. Once it arrived the box was all torn up and the person that delivered it just dropped it in the garage with the boxes spilling out of the bigger box. Love Thule products, etailer and the shipping supplier not so much,
Overall solid product. The little rubber strips that fit into the top bar are relatively fragile, I installed them, pulled one out to trim about 1/8 inches of excess length and the strip deformed such that it never went back in correctly. Fortunately etrailer had replacement strips.
Reliable and durable
I just installed these on my 2015 Odyssey's side rails.
Easy-peasy to install and appears to be quite solid.
Just not sure how tight I need to screw them.
It only took me 30 minutes to assemble and install the Crossroad feet with the 60" WingBar EVO. It will probably take me 10 minutes to move to another vehicle.
I chose the Crossroads for the ease of installation so I can switch them between our two Odysseys. When loosened for removal they also loosen the crossbar (60" WingBar EVO) which makes it so much easier to switch to a vehicle with a different width requirement.
Fits that requirement perfectly.
Will be loading the canoe on top this coming weekend. Looking forward to using these.
I've always trusted Thule bars. I have an old Xsporter on my truck that works really well and it has held up over time. I needed to get a Thule rack for my Jeep Grand Cherokee and found that etrailer had all the parts I needed specified for my model. That was one of my favorite things about the site. No need to search around for the different parts to attached onto the factory rails. Once I received the rack and components, it was really easy to install. I pretty much watched the etrailer videos before hand.
I have the older Hullavator 897XT to haul my kayak in. With the WingBar Evo, I found I needed to get a slightly longer bolt (6-1.00 x 30), which I got from the local Ace hardware store, to attached the Hullavator support bracket to the WingBar. Once I got those bolts set up, I was on the water with the kayak the next day.
Talked to the customer service a few times and they are great friendly people. And I can understand what they are saying.
53” Thule bars fit our 2021 RAV4 Hybrid! Most people appear to be using 47” bars for the 2021 RAV4 with flush roof rails, but that’s smaller than I wanted. I sometimes carry a sheet of plywood, or a kayak plus a cargo box, and wanted a wider rack for that. I had heard that upsizing to the 53” bar was potentially not possible because the mounting slots on the bottom of the bar may not accommodate the rail locations relative to the bar length. ETrailer helped me out with some dimensions, so I bought the 53” bar knowing it would be close. There is only about a quarter inch of play on either side on the rear bar, but it fit (the front bar had more play, since the towers are a bit further apart at the front).
I’m SO happy with the result! Now I can carry what I want on the rack, and have room to spare! It looks pretty good too!
I’ve been searching for a set of crossbars for my 2021 Crosstrek. After looking at several different companys,, I decided to go with etrailer.com and get the Thule Wingbar Evo Crossbars and Evo Raised feet. Ordering was quick and shipping was even faster! Installed them in about an hour with no issues. I love the way they look, and the construction is solid. Shout out to the staff for doing a great job and for the great communication from placing the order, confirmation, updates and shipping the order. You will not be disappointed!

Still three stars. Very fiddle-y to get right. The older clip in footer type is much easier to use.
