When you’re loading up for a trip, you need bars that can handle the weight and stay solid on the road. These Thule WingBar Evo crossbars are made of aluminum and built to carry up to 165 lbs, as long as you stay within your vehicle’s roof load rating. The sturdy build keeps your kayaks, cargo boxes, or camping gear steady through highway speed and bumpy roads alike.
Nothing ruins a road trip faster than constant wind noise from your roof rack. The WingBar Evo design helps fight that. Its aero-style shape cuts through the air, while the split rubber strips in the top channels reduce vibration and whistling. It keeps things calm inside so you can actually enjoy the drive instead of competing with the wind.
Some racks make you cut rubber strips just to add an accessory—but not these. The top channels use split strips that open up when you slide your gear’s hardware in, then close around it again. No cutting, no fiddling. You get a clean install that stays sealed against wind and weather while keeping accessory changes simple.
Whether it’s a cargo box for family trips, a couple of kayaks for the lake, or ski gear for winter runs, this rack is ready for it all. The bars work with most bike, watersport, snow, and cargo carriers using either channel mounts or clamp-on attachments. You can bring what you want, when you want—without changing your setup each season.
If you want extra peace of mind while parked at a trailhead or hotel overnight, these bars are ready for Thule’s One-Key System locks (sold separately). Adding them lets you secure both the rack and your channel-mounted accessories so your gear stays right where you left it.

Not nearly as happy as I was! I love the rack style, and it works OK, but the rubber strips on top are a bad design. Once I had one of the strips fly off while driving, and the wind noise was horrible after that. Luckily, I made a note of where I was, and went back and found the strip on a freeway. This time I GLUED it in, because even though it was properly seated the first time, it came off. Then, the same thing happened on the rear rack! This time I caught it before it blew off. The front one had been driven over by a car or two, so I was going to replace it rather than reuse it - until I found the price of this simple piece of blow away rubber - it was outlandish I think it was $80 for a set - ridiculous at even half that price!. So I ended up gluing them in AND I put an eye bolt on both ends - since it seems to come loose at an end and work its way across. The idea is good, but the captive track is not adequate, and Id rather just take them off - but the wind noise is unbearable, so Im just going to make due.

Review of Entire set: After a year of using this, it still works very well. Easy to take on and off your car and make slight adjustments if needed. Only maintaining is really just cleaning it which is simple enough. No issues with lockingunlocking with the keys. It has definitely helped saved space for my tiny Honda Civic.

Hi Michael, thanks for the review! For future reference, you might consider trying a wind fairing to help cut down on noise. These will not get rid of all sound, but they are designed to cut down on noise quite a bit. I hope this helps!

Sorry to hear that you were missing one of the end caps. If you let me know if you're missing a left (driver) or right (passenger) we can get you a replacement shipped.

My purchase from etrailer.com was world class. And their service was superb. They are a 5-star organization. They are knowledgeable folks with experience in what they sell. They will quickly get you out of what would otherwise be a nasty, complex situation and make it look easy. You can trust this company. Put them to work for you. Note, I do not own stock in this company but wish I did.

I can see that you got the 52 inch Thule square bars. The square bars are known to whistle compared to the aerodynamic cross bars. I recommend the Thule AirScreen XT part # TH22WV to divert the wind up and over the cross bars to eliminate some of the wind noise.

It’s been a year since I purchased and installed these. They’re still holding up and look great. I added a roof rack on top of it using the slots and t-bolts. Definitely worth every penny! You will not be disappointed! ????
