MB Sturgis Propane Fittings - 100575-24-MBS

  • Pigtail Hoses
  • 1/4 Inch - MIF
  • Type 1 - Female
  • MB Sturgis

Pigtail makes the connection from the propane tanks on your trailer to the propane regulator on your trailer. Check valve prevents hazardous backflow leakage and is suitable for dual-tank setups.

Features:

  • Propane pigtail connects your propane cylinder to a regulator
    • Used for single or dual tank setups on the front of your travel trailer
  • Female Type 1 fitting connects to the valve on your propane cylinder
  • Male Inverted flare connects to a propane regulator
  • Built-in bypass mode shuts gas off when flow reaches maximum capacity for safety
    • Thermal shut-off device turns off gas flow in extreme heat caused by open flame
    • Excess-flow safety device limits gas flow in the event of a severe leak
  • Durable thermoplastic hose and brass fittings approved for LP gas only
    • Rated for high pressure and high flow rate to handle unregulated propane
    • UL569 and ANSI Z21-81 certified
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Temperature range: -40 F to 140 F
  • Hose dimensions: 24" long x 1/4" inner diameter
  • Hose fittings:
    • Type 1 tank connection
    • 1/4" Male inverted flare
  • Maximum pressure rating: 350 psi
  • Maximum flow capacity: 450,000 Btu per hour
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Bypass Mode for Safety

This Type 1 connector will go into bypass mode if the flow rate surpasses the maximum flow capacity for this connector, which is 450,000 Btu per hour. A ball inside of the fitting will push an internal spring down, pressing firmly against the bottom of the fitting to shut off the flow of gas.

When choosing a Type 1 connector, consider your overall propane demands and choose a connector with a flow rate that just exceeds it. That way, you won't trigger the bypass mode during normal use, but it will trigger in the event of a leak. If the bypass valve engages, stop using gas and start checking your connections for leaks.

Video Transcript for MB Sturgis Propane - Hoses - 100575-24-MBS Review

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail Hose. This is used to connect a dual LP cylinder system to a 2-stage regulator. It's going to feature your RV type 1 connector on this end. On the other end it's going to a feature a 1/4-inch male inverted flare. The type 1 provides a higher rate of flow resulting in a decreased potential for the system to go into bypass mode and therefore shutting down the gas supply to the system. The assembly is going to measure 24 inches long. Nice thermoplastic construction is strong, durable, and flexible. It's going to have the type 1 on this end.

It includes an internal back check to ensure that the system does not allow a back flow gas leak. The internal diameter or inner diameter of the hose is a 1/4 of an inch. The unit also features a heat sensitive thermal shut-off device to shut off the gas in extreme heat situations. When it comes to certification, it's UL, ANSI, and CSA certified, designed for LP gas only, that's liquid propane. It's going to feature a temperature range of -40 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and the maximum flow capacity is 200,000 BTUs per hour. That's going to do it for today's look at the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail Hose..

I've been using this pigtail connector for about a year to allow extended stays for my RV. It has continued to WORK GREAT, no issues what-so-ever! I've tested the connections every once in a while, to make sure they are secure, and they always are. No bubbles or leaks. Highly recommended item.

every thing is awesome

I needed a high flow propane connection and etrailer had exactly what I needed. These hose/connectors allow more BTU’s than the standard BBQ hoses. I have a propane tankless water heater since natural gas isn’t available. The W/H runs off a standard 5 gallon propane tank and standard connector/hose. The standard only allow up to 70,000 BTU to flow through. The tankless can use up to 199,000 BTU’s when you have more than one faucet open in the house. This higher rated connector/hose will allow up to 450,000 BTU’s which is overkill. But the hoses were $9 each.(a very low price compared to other online stores). So I won’t have a low flow issue.

I did not receive my order for this item. Tracking just stopped at a location and never said delivered. I contacted etrailer and they quickly sent a replacement at no charge. That's excellent customer service!

by:

If I ever smelled propane leaking again and could isolate the leak to the pigtail supply lines, I would not hesitate to order these. They have been perfect a year later. Much better quality than the originals.

by:

etrailer always has what I need... and made in the USA!

by:

My trailer is almost 20 years old and the regulator and hoses needed replacement, all were of excellent quality and fit perfectly!

by:

This was a quick and easy replacement for my leaking propane supply lines. And they're still working great a year later, just like I would expect.

by:

part was to short for what i needed. found it to be cost prohibitive to return, so kept it. ordered correct length and it leaks, will try using plumbers tape to see if that helps, but that will take a few weeks as the trailer is at a friends house 155 miles away.

  • How To Make Propane Pigtail With Type 1 Connector And 3/8" Male Inverted Flare
I may have another option for you, but unfortunately we do not offer a propane hose with a type 1 connector and a 3/8" male inverted flare. Your best bet is to use the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Type 1 x 1/4" Male Inverted Flare - 2' # 100575-24-MBS and a 1/4" female inverted flare to 3/8" male inverted flare adapter. We do not offer that specific adapter so you would need source one. I included a video of the # 100575-24-MBS for you to take a look at.

  • Hoses That Fit JR Products Automatic Changeover Regulator 37207-30395
You will need hoses with a 1/4" male inverted flare to connect to the JR Products Automatic Changeover RV LP Gas Regulator # 37207-30395. I was unable to find the hose size that connected to the Winntec you have, but if they don't fit, then they wouldn't be 1/4" male inverted flare, as that's the correct size for the # 37207-30395. So you will need new hoses, and can choose the length you need from the following, each of which has the correct fitting to connect to your regulator: - 1...

  • Recommended Regulator For A Superior Unvented Log Fireplace
I recommend using the MB Sturgis High Capacity Two-Stage Auto Changeover Regulator # 888001-MBS between your two 30lb propane tanks to fuel your Superior Unvented Log Fireplace. This regulator has an operational temperature range of -20F to 120F (-40C to 55C). It has a top view indicator to check your propane level. It has a 3/8" female NPT outlet and two 1/4" female inverted flare inlets which will require you to use two pigtails like the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Type 1 x 1/4" Male...

  • How To Determine What Correct Propane Pigtail Is Needed
To determine which pigtail will be right for you, you will first need to know what type of regulator you have. The two most common types of regulators is a standard two stage regulator like the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 108220, and an automatic changeover two stage regulator like the MB Sturgis High Capacity Two-Stage Auto Changeover Regulator # 888001-MBS. The standard two stage regulator will have one inlet, and requires a pigtail with an Acme and a 1/4" Male NPT...

  • Parts Needed To Convert Single Tank Propane System w/ Marshal 230 To Dual Tank System
Yep! You can replace your Marshal 230 regulator with a auto changeover regulator # 37207-31525, and install it with a bracket # 37207-30405. You'll be able to reuse the existing pigtail going from your single tank to your current regulator, and the supply hose going from the regulator to your propane manifold, but you'll need one more pigtail # 100575-24-MBS to connect the additional tank to the regulator.
