Pigtail makes the connection from the propane tanks on your trailer to the propane regulator. Also used to connect tanks to a high-pressure regulator to carry gas to a 2-stage regulator. Check valve prevents hazardous backflow leakage.

Features:

  • Propane pigtail connects your propane cylinder to a regulator
    • Used for single or dual tank setups on the front of your travel trailer
    • Also used to connect a remote tank to a high-pressure regulator
  • Female Type 1 fitting connects to the valve on your propane cylinder
  • Male NPT connects to a propane regulator
  • Built-in bypass mode shuts gas off when flow reaches maximum capacity for safety
    • Thermal shut-off device turns off gas flow in extreme heat caused by open flame
    • Excess-flow safety device limits gas flow in the event of a severe leak
  • Durable thermoplastic hose and brass fittings approved for LP gas only
    • Rated for high pressure and high flow rate to handle unregulated propane
    • UL569 and ANSI Z21-81 certified
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Temperature range: -40 F to 140 F
  • Hose dimensions: 36" long x 1/4" inner diameter
  • Hose fittings:
    • Female Type 1
    • 1/4" Male NPT
  • Maximum pressure rating: 350 psi
  • Maximum flow capacity: 450,000 Btu per hour
  • 1-Year limited warranty

This propane hose is ideal for travel trailers with a split-tank system. This kind of system features 1 cylinder on the driver's side and 1 cylinder on the passenger's side of your trailer. This hose connects the cylinder on the passenger's side to a high-pressure regulator. An additional hose (sold separately) will then carry the propane from the high-pressure regulator to the 2-stage regulator on the driver's side of your trailer.

Bypass Mode for Safety

This Type 1 connector will go into bypass mode if the flow rate surpasses the maximum flow capacity for this connector, which is 450,000 Btu per hour. A ball inside of the fitting will push an internal spring down, pressing firmly against the bottom of the fitting to shut off the flow of gas.

When choosing a Type 1 connector, consider your overall propane demands and choose a connector with a flow rate that just exceeds it. That way, you won't trigger the bypass mode during normal use, but it will trigger in the event of a leak. If the bypass valve engages, stop using gas and start checking your connections for leaks.

  • 12 Foot Long Propane Hose to Connect BBQ to Disposable Cylinder Fitting
The large port on your Extend a Stay, basically part # CAM59113, is a male 1 - 20 disposable cylinder connection. To hook your BBQ grille up using that fitting you can use part # 204132-MBS which is an adapter to a Type 1 fitting. Then use a Type 1 hose with a regulator, like part # CAM57721, that's 12 feet long and has a 3/8 female flare to connect to the grill. If these parts don't have the correct fittings let me know.

  • Propane Regulator for MB Sturgis 100473 Propane Hose
Yes, you can use the MB Sturgis 100473 hose with a replacement single-stage regulator, which is what it looks like you need based on your photo. For the regulator you will need the Camco Single Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59013. Then for the 100473 hose you can choose the one you need based on the length: - 12 inches: MB Sturgis Propane Hose - RV Type 1 with Back Check x 1/4" MPT # 100473-12 - 15 inches: MB Sturgis Propane Hose - RV Type 1 with Back Check x 1/4" MPT # 100473-15-MBS -...

  • Compatibility of Longer Propane Pigtail Hose on Aliner RV
The MB Sturgis Propane Hose w/ Back Check - Type 1 x 1/4" MPT - 36" # 100473-36-MBS is a great replacement for the part you referenced but it isn't quite as high a capacity. Nothing in a traditional RV will require the 450K BTU lines and your regulator will reduce it to likely so the 400K BTU pigtail will work just fine as a replacement. For instance an extremely common regulator is the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator for Dual Propane Tanks # CAM59005 which will...

  • Determining Correct Propane Pigtail Hose For Trailer
Depending on the specific propane regulator on your trailer you will either need the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Stainless Overbraid - Type 1 x 1/4 Male Inverted Flare # 100833-36 or the MB Sturgis Propane Hose w/ Back Check - Type 1 x 1/4" MPT - 36" # 100473-36-MBS. The easiest way to determine the correct hose for your regulator has a brass fitting as shown in the included picture or not. If you have the brass fitting you will need the # 100833-36, and you instead connector directly...

  • Is Teflon Tape or Gas Pipe Sealant Needed for the MB Sturgis Propane Hose w/ Back Check
Yes, the MB Sturgis Propane Hose w/ Back Check, # 100473-36-MBS has a 1/4" Male NPT thread and should be installed using a Thread Sealant Tape for Gas Lines, such as # 37207-30025 or Gas Pipe Sealant, # 37207-30555.

  • Parts Needed to Connect the MB Sturgis Regulator # 108221 to a 1991 Coleman Sun Valley
The MB Sturgis Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 108221 sounds like it is exactly what you are needing for a replacement regulator. To connect your 20 lb propane tank to the regulator you need a pigtail. Since you have about 3' you need to cover I recommend the 36" MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100473-36-MBS. From here you need a 3/8" MPT on one end and then whatever end connects to your 1991 Coleman Sun Valley. The most popular is either a 1/2" flare swivel like part # 100383-48-MBS...

  • Propane Hose For Camco Single Stage Propane Regulator
Assuming the regulator is being connected to a propane tank with a Type 1 fitting, you'll need a propane hose with a 1/4" MPT connector to connect to the inlet of the Camco Single Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59013. That will depend on the length you need, and you can use either the 20 inch MB Sturgis Propane Hose # 100473-20-MBS or 36 inch MB Sturgis Propane Hose # 100473-36-MBS.
