E-bikes and mountain rigs are no problem here. The Kuat NV 2.0 carries up to 2 bikes, each weighing up to 60 lbs, for a total of 120 lbs of hauling power. That covers most e-bikes, fat-tire builds, and heavier trail setups. The aluminum body keeps the overall rack weight to 52 lbs, balancing strength with easy handling.
The NV 2.0 grabs bikes by the wheels, not the frame, so there’s no contact with paint or carbon fiber. The ratcheting front-wheel hooks and sliding rear cradles secure each bike solidly without scuffs or scratches. It fits 25"–29" wheels, and with an optional adapter it can handle 20"–24" wheels. Standard straps fit up to 3.0" tires, while fat-bike straps stretch to 5.0".
A spring-loaded foot lever makes it simple to tilt the rack for cargo access or fold it flat for storage. You can tilt it down even with both bikes loaded—no need to unload just to open the hatch. When empty, step on the pedal again and fold it up neatly out of the way.
Security is built in. Each tray hides a ¼" braided steel cable lock that loops through your bike’s frame and clicks back into place. The locking hitch pin holds the rack tight to your hitch receiver. Both locks are keyed alike, so one key handles the whole setup.
The NV 2.0’s Trail Doc repair stand gives you a mobile tune-up station anywhere you park. A rubber-coated clamp secures seat posts or top tubes from ¾" to 2-½" without marring the finish. It rotates and locks at the height you need for quick adjustments or cleaning before the next ride.

The rack itself seems very sturdy -- of very high quality. However, assembling it was ridiculously difficult, especially for one person. Kuat's video about assembling the NV12G is very misleading. The nuts do not go on the bolts easily (bolts are too short). This took me several hours to put together. Might have been easier if I had someone to help me.
Plan to have someone help you assemble it. Otherwise, it's a nightmare.

I am all good, you can cancel the request, Kuat has already sent me a replacement. The box was beaten up pretty bad by UPS, soaking wet and completely surrounded in tape, so this is not your fault! but the broken part, the Doc, was actually insulated and appeared to be a manufacturing defect since the metal was cracked and a piece fell off. Anyway, KUAT made is right and [sent] me the part so we are good to go.
Product works exactly as advertised. This is a great rack and is well worth the money, especially if you have a bike with a long wheelbase. Read the expert answers to make sure it will have enough clearance to fit your vehicle. I'm using mine on a new mustang with a class one hitch from this website; the fit is perfect. Overall an excellent product; although I have yet to use it for very long, I have full confidence it will last for many road trips to come, it seems to be of exceptional quality.
Awesome rack and so glad for the foot release level to drop down the rack!!! Can’t wait to explore the trails with this new rack!! Assembly can be done with one person, but it will be much easier with an extra set of hands.

This bike rack is great! It’s everything a cyclist could want. The only reason I can think of that an individual might not want this is if they want the other model that carries more bikes!

Still brand new, but very impressed with the build quality and functionality. I have a Q50 sport sedan and previously had a trunk mount Thule Raceway Pro-2. My bike came out of it twice (I have a Kestrel 4000LTD with a unique frame which may have something to do with it). So, I just bought this. Platform mount is much more stable. Very happy! FYI - care hitches have 1.25 inch mounts, so make sure you get the compatible NV 2.0!
Love the rack. Great functionality, great looks, not Thule or Yakima. Fortunately the color matches my car exactly. I'm glad I got it on sale, and I'm really glad my partner has no idea how much I paid for it. Assembly instructions were straight forward, and I put it together on a folding table by myself. I'm not going to lie, this rack is on the heavier side but I can still mount it and remove it by myself. It may be a little overkill for my road bike, but it looks good on the my Focus ST.
The gold standard of hitch mounted racks. I had originally ordered the Saris Freedom Super Clamp but after reading other reviews of the NV 2.0 I called and changed my order. The best feature of the rack is that there is zero wiggle of the bikes and the rack during the ride because of the ratcheting and tightening of the rack into the hitch. We transport road, triathlon (top of the line $$), and mountain bikes on this rack and with our big upcoming trip to Ironman Lake Placid 2017 we wanted the best rack available.
Arrived quickly, easy to assemble. The Kuat NV 2.0 was one of the few platform style bike racks that seemed compatible with our 2019 Subaru Crosstrek 1 1/4" class 1 hitch (serial # L101SFL000, pin hole depth 1.5"). The rack adjusts well to fit either my husband's road bike, our hybrid bikes, or my son's Electra Cruiser (bigger wheel base and tire width). Love the repair stand option! The rack is heavy, but sturdy and I love the colors (gunmetal gray with orange trim). I also love the tilt option for opening the rear hatch of the Subaru and the fold up option for space saving when we are not using the rack. We haven't tested the rack on a trip yet but I will report back and attach pictures when we do.
The rack screams quality, and it is in my opinion the best looking bike rack out there. Everything works as advertised in the many reviews haha. I only had an issue with the trail doc (the built in bike stand to do maintenance on the go)... The clamp got stuck and wouldn't open or close. I called Kuat and without asking much of an explanation or even a receipt, they shipped me a new part for free.
I bought this for my VW Sportwagen, and I found two things. The first one is that I don't use the trail doc very often... If you think about it, it is completely unnecessary. If I could go back in time, I would buy the sherpa instead for that reason, and because it is a lot lighter and cheaper as added benefits. I think this is best suited for a large vehicle to use with the extension to carry a total of 4 bikes.
Paired this rack with a Curt C11111 for my 2012 Infiniti M37 Sedan. Easy to assemble/install, custom fit and look. The rack makes it extremely easy to load either MTB or road bikes. My wife loves the fact she can load the bikes without my assistance!
I'm so very happy with this rack!! It was fairly easy to assemble love the sturdy feel. Maiden voyage today the two Ebike's loaded easily and were secured. I think I made the right choice. Thank you

I love my Küat. It is secure and so easy to mount bikes, my wife loves it too. The work stand is a nice bonus too.

After a year I still love my Kuat. It has made a bunch of trips to Vermont from here in Connecticut without a problems or hiccups. I have had quite a few comments on it, folks thought it looked unique and very secure. I really appreciate the integrated locking cable, it gives me piece of mind that my bikes are safe. My only problem was with the locking pin for the work stand which broke shortly after I got it. The folks from Kuat quickly sent me a replacement though, the gentleman I talked to was very helpful. All in all, this rack is well worth the price in my opinion.
Love the fit and solid quality build of this bike carrier. Can't wait to try it out.
I am using this carrier for two e-bikes and I am confident that it will hold up very nicely and will have no problem holding the weight of the 2 bikes.

It’s been working out great!
Clear and simple assembly instructions. Packaged very well to protect all painted
surfaces. It’s a very well built and sturdy rack. I really like that each front tire tray is adjustable up or down. Kuat pulled out all the stops on this rack, Excellently done! I also like the integrated bike locks and the anti-sway feature, very cool! I believe this rack will allow my son and I to travel further safely and explore more on our mountain bikes and bring us closer together.
