Are there adapter s that would allow a 2inch NV bike rack to be mounted to a 1.25 inch hitch? Thanks — and sorry it the q is a bit moronic.

The question is not moronic, it actually comes up frequently, so no worries!

There are adapters that allow you to use 2 inch accessories in a 1-1/4 inch hitch such as # HTAD. However, the use of an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent. That means that the combined weight of the bikes and bike rack cannot exceed the reduced tongue weight capacity of the hitch.

If you do not already have the bike rack Kuat does have versions of the NV 2.0 that will fit directly in a 1-1/4 inch hitch: # NV12G and # NV12B.
