Custom-Fit Towing Mirror
Easily extend your field of vision and reduce blind spots with this CIPA slip-on towing mirror. By adding it to your OEM side-view mirror, you can see beyond the end of your trailer. This will allow you to safely and easily change lanes, pass, and park with a trailer in tow.
The mirror is molded to perfectly match the contours of your factory side mirror. Simply slide the mirror over your side-view mirror and use the custom-formed, felt-covered wedge to hold the mirror in place. This wedge wraps around the inside edge of your OEM mirror and can be tightened onto the mirror with an easily accessible hand knob.

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and be showing you how to install the CIPA custom fit towing mirrors on our 2024 Ram 1500. Now the main feature here is that these are custom fit. All the plastics are gonna be custom molded to fit around the different shapes and contours of your Ram and it gives you a pretty solid fit overall. But one thing to note about this one compared to some other options like the ones from Longview or K-Source is that our RAM has turn signals on the factory mirrors and those different towing mirrors had cutouts so you could still see them, whereas this is one solid piece. You're gonna lose those features on your Ram if you have them.
These are also pretty bulky compared to those other custom options. And one of the issues with that is seeing this bottom corner when you try to fold the mirror in, it does make contact your vehicle and you can't fully fold your mirrors in. They can leave them here, it'll save space. But if you wanted to pull into a parking spot and fully fold these in so that you just don't have to worry about it sticking out so far, these ones aren't gonna do it the best. Now the main reason you're getting towing mirrors though is to widen your field of view.
The factory mirrors on your Ram do have that small blind spot mirror in the upper corner and that will help, but they're small, and it's gonna be hard to see things. To their credit, these mirrors from CIPA have a really large mirror face and will help give you that wider field of view. The larger mirror face will just make it easier to see things and help you make lane changes, turns, and park just a little bit easier. And when comparing this to a universal mirror, it's still gonna be leaps and bounds more stable and secure. So you're gonna get less rattle and vibration going down the road, meaning that you get a clearer and easier view through the mirror.
Now you can get these at a pair or you can get these individually. So if you just want the driver side, you can just pick up the driver side. And same goes for the passenger. They install the exact same way though. This is the passenger side that we'll show you right now.
And the only thing you really need to take note of is this threaded hole, it'll be towards the top. We'll slide the CIPA mirror over our factory mirror and push it forward as far as it'll go. And I'm just gonna start this hand knob here and thread it down a little bit because eventually what that's gonna do is push on the backside of this wedge piece and basically lock the towing mirror in place. But I'll thread that down and just feel on the inside to make sure it doesn't actually start poking out. That way it's a little easier when we slide that wedge piece in. And on the wedge, the thicker part is gonna be facing up. So that'll line up. There's a lip on the inside that we can push against. Push that in and thread that further. We should feel it kind of grab on. And if I can still pull this out, I means things are probably not super well lined up. Just back that out and keep threading it in until I get it to line up where I want it. This part's really tricky 'cause you're just going in blind. Once you do have it lined up, just thread it down the rest of the way till it stops and give it a good shake test. There's gonna be a little bit of wiggle room in here, but I can't actually pull that off. So we know that wedge is doing its job and it's hooked onto the mirror properly. So overall, if I'm being honest, it's not my favorite. It's not the easiest install, it's not the best fit, and it doesn't give you really the largest mirror face. I'd say it comes pretty much in line with the K-Source mirror that's equally as large. So you're gonna get pretty similar visibility out of both of them. But where the K-Source really separates itself is a much more solid install, a much better custom fit. And in my mind, that makes it a much better mirror and a better fit for the Ram. But if you're just looking for an upgrade over some universal mirrors or you maybe just need the one side, you're really not too concerned with getting a pair, then maybe the CIPA set could be the one for you in your 2024 Ram 1500. Your customer service was great, the delivery service not so good.
I was going on vacation Friday morning and the first delivery date was Thursday, the timing was just right. Then the delivery service said it had issues, so Friday delivery. Then they had another issue and moved the delivery date to Saturday. I asked if I can pick it up at one of the transformer locations, where it arrived Saturday morning. They said no, so I had to go purchase another item for my trip.
These extenders fit like a glove! Very happy with my purchase and the peace of mind that came with it.
Tie downs look good. Bolts were to short but otherwise all went well for the bolt on. Haven’t put mirrors on yet. Putting them on Thursday.
Bought the CIPA extended trailering mirrors. Look really nice, look like the OEM mirrors. Solid fit. Read the instructions for the cushioning placement and get it right and they fit nice. The extended mirror is flat not convex like the usual mirrors so things appear a little different
, but I got used to it quickly. Buy them you’ll be glad!

I had some like this with a different truck and they worked well.
Price was good the shipping was on time. The mirrors work great for my 23 ft, camper trailer pulled with a 04 suburban, the only problem I had was the left mirror would not adjust. A little 3in 1 and moving it freed it up and it is fine.
They don't fit very well on my 2018 Ram. They extend towards to door past the edge of the original mirror and it has to go that far in order to get the retaining block in. That causes the truck mirrors to be covered about 1/2 inch. They also keep the mirrors from folding all the way. Having said that, they are still better than the strap on type because they don't vibrate.
After a little snafu with shipping I received the mirrors and am very happy with them. They fit my Toyota Tundra perfectly and actually look good. Unlike the strap on kind of mirror extensions. They don't vibrate while driving so give a clear view.

The CIPA mirrors for the Toyota Sequoia fit well. Adding a mini bungi cord for additional stability and security is a big help. However, I find the CIPA mirror too small to be of much use. I still rely on the OEM Toyota mirrors when driving and setting up. The CIPA mirrors may be more useful on other makes of tow vehicles.
Not sure how they would have worked. They sent me passenger side from a warehouse UPS, came Quick, sent driver side by USPS and we know how slow they are. I had to reach out to try and do something else because I was picking up my camper we had just purchased. Rachel M. was so very helpful in getting me satisfied and better mirrors sent over night to help for when we picked up our camper. Now the REFUND on the other hand is something else. Took up to 3 weeks to be refunded with product back in stock. Not sure I will buy anything else from them, just because of stupid mistakes on there part. Glad they had Rachel M. as an employee at the time to help and bail me out.
Our CIPA Custom towing mirrors arrived very quickly, well packaged with appearance as described, excellent quality. We tried them on our 2020 GMC Sierra Denali and they fit great and will be an extra set of eyes when we are towing our 2021 Riverside Retro trailer to see her better when traveling , backing up etc. We are so happy and will be back for more at etrailer, thank you!
My second set of CIPA mirrors. Fit and versatility are great. Good temporary extensions for factory mirrors when towing.
We use these mirrors all of the time when we tow. They fit our Ford F150 truck mirrors like a glove. Unfortunately they can loosen up when traveling so you will need to check the screw on each mirror before traveling to your next destination. We have lost 2 of these in the 6 years we have had our camper for that very reason.
First, etrailer is a great supplier. Fast, efficient and stands behind products they sell. The mirrors are well made, easy to install and functional. I had an issue with the passenger side mirror would not adjust its angle. I thought I would break the mirror with the pressure I had to use to move it. The mirror would only go to full travel, so I was either looking at the neighbors lawn one way or the other way it was looking in the passenger windows. Called etrailer support, no problem, new one on the way. Problem solved.
No problems with this mirror extension. I have a '24 Ram 1500 classic. Trailer us 8ft wide. This gave a better view than standard mirror. Be aware, left and right sold separately. Nice part is taking them off when you're not pulling the rig.
I have purchased from etrailer.com before and was happy with their service. I was across country moving my son back to Idaho from Illinois and needed mirrors for towing a large utility trailer. 2010 F150 Lining up the Thumb screw hole took a little work.. I did manage to get it all lined up With a little work and observation. I lined up the anti-slip plate with the thumb screw hole before I installed it, and marked The adjacent location with a sharpie. After realigning the thumb screw turned down all the way with little effect. Extension mirror looks sharp!! And is solid against the existing mirror.
So glad I found these mirror extenders! Super easy to install and worked beautifully. We just did a 2000 mile trip pulling my trailer with no issues. The mirrors allow me to make safe lane changes.
