Review of the Kuat Hitch Bike Racks on a 2021 Hyundai Palisade

Hey everybody Clayton here at etrailer.com. Today, we gonna be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 2-bike platform rack on our 2021 Hyundai Palisade. Today, we gonna be taking a look at the gunmetal variation and the two inch hitch receiver but this same rack is gonna be available in matte black and gloss black. But you do want to keep in mind the matte black version is the base model. And then these do come in two inch hitches and one and a quarter inch options and all of those colors. And this is honestly one of my favorite racks out there on the market.

It has a lot of bells and whistles and it looks really sharp on the back of any vehicle you might put it on. And especially this Palisade is this is a very nice looking car. So you want to compliment that with nice accessories just like this one. This rack is gonna give us two points of contact. We gonna have our wheel hook here on the front wheel and then gonna have a strap on our lower wheel.

So with that being said, this is gonna be a great option for carbon frame bikes cause nothing's gonna be touching our frame. It's all gonna be supported on our wheel. One cool feature is our rack is gonna give us integrated bike locks. These come out at the ends, Please attach them around your wheels. These are to be keyed the same as our hitch lock.

Our wheel cradles are gonna work with a lot of different style of bikes. As you can see this wider area here is gonna work for your fat tyre bikes. This middle area is gonna be for your mountain bikes. And we do have this thinner part here for our road bikes. So we gonna be able to get any of the bikes we might have out to the trail.

And probably my favorite thing about the platform racks like this one, is that you can tilt them away from your vehicle with the bike still on it. Lots of those hanging style racks you have to take the bike off. So they had to leave that on there. It's gonna make it super easy whenever we get to the store and have to access our trunk. And our rack is gonna be constructed out of aluminum, steel and stainless steel. So it's gonna be super easy to move around. As you can see, you can do that with one hand, no problem. Taking our bike off of our rack is gonna be super easy. We gonna push our release lever here, lift up on our wheel hook. We'll rotate that down out of the way. We can get our rear strap off from our wheel and lift our bike off. And with your bike off, you want to make sure to push your hooks back in. We'll rotate that over and don't forget to secure your re your rear wheel set. We'll get a few measurements for you to help you understand where this rack is gonna sit on the back of your Palisade. From our bumper to the outermost part of our rack is about 30 and a half inches then from our bumper to the closest point, is about six and a half inches. And then back here from the ground to our rack is about 20 inches. But then when we put our rack in a storage position, from our facia to our rack, is about two inches. And then from the ground to the bottom of our shank is about eleven and a half inches. Another cool feature as you can see, even shake your bike rack it actually shakes the whole car. And that's because this comes with a self tightening cam system. So you just tighten this down, once you put it into the Beaumont or once you put it into the shank I should say that's gonna take out all that shake and rattle. And this one does work with a two inch hitch receivers and it does come included with a pin and locking clip. So you're not gonna have to worry about anybody taking this off the back of your vehicle. These are gonna be keyed the same as our integrated bike locks. And one of the coolest features of this rack is gonna be our integrated workstation. Simply just pull out on this, lift up, lock it back into place and then we can work on our bike whenever we get to the trail, if there's any issues. And we did get some test scores footage for you, so you can see how this performs in everyday application. This is our test course, let's start with the slalom. This shows side to side action such as turning corners or evasive maneuvering. Then onto our alternating speed bumps. This shows twisting action, such as hitting curbs potholes, road debris or even uneven pavement. Last of all, the solid speed bumps. This shows up and down action such as driving through a parking lot or parking garage or driving in and out of a driveway. And like I said, this is probably my favorite bike rack on the market. I like all the bells and whistles. It's gonna be one of those racks, it's definitely an investment but it's gonna last for a really long time. I'm gonna be super easy to live with. It's just something you're gonna be able to leave on the back of your car and not have to worry about it. And that's gonna do it for our look at the Kuat NV. 2.0 2-bike platform rack on our 2021 Hyundai Palisade..
