Features to know about

Heavy-Duty Towing Made Simple: Universal Fit with Adjustable Brackets

Fitting a hitch onto your service or utility truck can be a puzzle, but with the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch, it’s a breeze. The adjustable side brackets slide along the hitch body to perfectly match the width of your vehicle's frame, from 18" to 44" wide, before being securely welded. This ensures a flawless fit every time, no matter your frame’s dimensions.

Exceptional Strength You Can Count On: Built to Withstand 20,000 lbs GTW

When you're dealing with heavy loads, you need a hitch that won't flinch under pressure. Rated to handle up to 20,000 lbs of gross trailer weight and a 2,000 lb tongue weight, this Curt hitch boasts an unparalleled class V strength. Whether it’s for heavy-duty towing or utility box applications, it’s built to handle the toughest towing jobs safely and efficiently.

Rust Prevention for Longevity: Durable Black Powder Coat Finish

Protect your investment from the elements with a black powder coat finish that defends against rust and corrosion. Co-cured in a rust-resistant liquid Bonderite coating, this hitch is engineered to withstand the harshest conditions while maintaining its sleek appearance. It’s your shield against the wear and tear of the open road.

Adaptable for Varied Heights: 18-Inch Drop Feature

Some truck frames need a lower hitch connection, and that’s where the 18-inch drop comes into play. It adapts seamlessly, providing the necessary height adjustment from your vehicle frame to the hitch. It’s perfect for ensuring your trailer is leveled correctly, giving you smoother, safer rides.

Made for True Pros: Solid Weld-On Attachment

This hitch is all about reliable, no-nonsense installation. It features a solid weld-on attachment, combining exceptional strength with straightforward installation by a professional. Once welded, it transforms into a permanent, rugged towing solution that’s ready to tackle anything you throw at it.

Assembled with Pride: Made in the USA

Well I used it to haul a double wide over a mountain. So I'd say it worked pretty good

by:

It was a very nice kit, we installed on a Freightliner Cascadia.

by:

Great quality product from Curt . Can be easy installation depending on the application.. mine more difficult because of aluminum alloy frame, so will have to do some reinforcing.

by:

Solid materials and quality

by:

Extremely high quality product, very happy with my purchase. Shipped quickly, I received it before the estimated time. One more side note, the shipping box was damaged while in route, (Not etrailer's fault) but because they did a great job packing it, everything was still in the box even though half of one side was torn off the box. I will defiantly be a repeat customer!!

by:

  • 20,000LB Trailer Hitch Receiver Options For a 2022 Tiffin Allegro Bus Motorhome With Tag Axle
I do have some weld-on options for you as I unfortunately do not have any custom fit bolt on options and I cannot look at the detailed specs for your 2022 Tiffin Allegro Bus 45 OPP Motorhome. We have 2 sets of the Curt Class 5 receivers with either a 44" or 62" wide receiver tube which are all rated for up to 20,000lbs trailer weight and 2,000lbs tongue weight. You will need to select the correct width based on your frame and the amount of drop you will need to clear any rear fascia panels....

  • Heavy Duty Hitch for 2018 Coachmen Pursuit Precision Motorhome 27DS
I do have a solution, but the # C15800 will not fit your 2018 Coachmen Pursuit Precision Motorhome 27DS. For a heavy duty hitch you need the Curt Class 5 Universal Hitch # C87CR. This fits frames up to 44" and has the same high capacity with a 2-1/2" receiver. If you want a 2" receiver you can use the # 15902 instead. You will need to take the hitch to a certified welder for installation.

  • Trailer Receiver Hitch for Flatbed Cab and Chassis Pickups
The side plates in the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C87CR have only been tested by Curt in the vertical position. With that they are not sure how the mounting brackets will hold up if mounted horizontally. I recommend the Buyers Products Flatbed/Flatbed Dump Hitch Plate Bumper with 2" Receiver # 3371809055 for you to consider. It Is rated for 17,000lbs with a 2" receiver and is specifically designed to deal with the overhang caused by flatbeds. The hitch is designed to fit trucks...

  • Recommended 2-1/2" Trailer Hitch for a 2006 Thomas School Bus
I do have an option for you but there aren't any custom fit trailer hitch options for a 2006 Thomas School Bus. That said, we do still have universal options which can be installed either via welding or cutting/drilling. For this, I recommend the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch part # C87CR which uses very large side plates so you have a lot of room for error when modifying them to make fit. It has a class v rating with 2-1/2" opening which is great for heavy duty towing.

  • Availability Of Heavy Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2000 International 4900 Truck
There are a few options for your 2000 International 4900 Truck, but there is not a custom fit receiver available. The Super Titan 4000 Weld-On Trailer Hitch with 3" Receiver Opening, 25,000 lbs. # 38124 could work but requires the frame on your truck to be 34 to 34-1/2" wide. This option has a 4000lb tongue weight rating and a 25000lb trailer weight rating, but uses the less common 3" receiver. Another option is the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets - 2-1/2" Receiver -...

  • Will Curt Trailer hitch Receiver C15860 Fit 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 With Service Body
I reached out to my contact at Curt and it is possible that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V Commercial Duty - 2-1/2" # C15860 will fit your 2016 GM Sierra 2500 with a Service Body as long as it did not start life as a cab and chassis truck. The main thing to look for is that when the service body was installed that they did not modify the frame of the truck as the # C15860 uses factory mounting points. If your truck is a cab and chassis model, or if the frame was...

  • Solution for Class V Hitch on 2011 Fleetwood Expedition Motorhome
For hitch fabrication we only offer the receiver tube like the # E-11 or # C49511. You would need to take this to a local fabricator and they would be able to fashion a hitch and brackets that will fit your 2011 Fleetwood Expedition Motorhome. The other option would be to use one of the universal Class V hitches we have listed for your motorhome. We have the Curt # C47CR with a 9" drop and the Curt # C99CR with an 18" drop. Both options have a 2" receiver. The # C37CR and # C87CR are...

  • Can the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch Be Drilled and Bolted
The Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch part # C87CR is designed to be welded to the frame of a vehicle. I cannot recommend bolting and drilling unfortunately. The frame will need to be clean and clear of obstructions before welding. In regards to the actual welding, this would need to be done by a trainer professional, make sure precautions are taken such as unhooking the battery. That said, I'm no welding expert so you would need to refer one for these types of questions.

Hi Brad; the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C87CR you ordered is the solution here. There are no custom hitches so the only option is a universal weld-on. This does have a 2-1/2" receiver opening so if you want a 2" instead the # 41990-16 you looked at will also work.

This has drop brackets that can be set at any width up to 44 inches so it should hopefully be something that would work for you but you would need to check out the rear of your bus. The drop these brackets have is 18 inches.
