Video Transcript for Hands-On with the Mini Clearance/Side Marker Light w/ Grommet

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this submersible Amber LED mini clearance or side marker trailer light. Now with this little one inch round waterproof LED mini trailer light, you're gonna be able to haul safer by alerting other drivers of your trailer's position and direction of travel. This light functions is both a clearance and a side marker light when properly mounted. And as you can see, this is really bright even with my studio lights on here. But just to give you a better demonstration of its effectiveness, let me go ahead and turn my studio lights off here, and you get a better demonstration of the brightness and the light that it gives.

I'm gonna zoom out here and then just shine this on the wall behind me. So this one Amber LED underneath this amber lens is rated for up to 100,000 hours of operation. It's energy efficient, long lasting and vibration resistant. This is a PC rated light meaning it produces a 90 degree angle of light on either side of its center line for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light.

Rather than buying a side marker and clearance light separately, you can mount this single PC rated light at a 45 degree angle on the corner of your trailer to act as both. Now this sealed waterproof light includes a durable polycarbonate housing and a UV resistant lens. The circuit board is of a military grade construction, and the urethane potting is gonna give you better protection than the common epoxy potting. This has an IP rating of 68, and this is 12 volt DC compatible. As you can see, it's a two wire pigtail with 0.180 male bullet ends.

And that wire length, I'm gonna go ahead and pull my ruler out here and just confirm that with you. I'm gonna line this up so you can see that. So from behind the light all the way to the end here, we're sitting at about 11 1/2 inches long on that wire length. And this is a recess mount installation and it has a grommet included with this as you can see. And the installation does require a three quarter of an inch in diameter cutout.

And this light is about 7/8 of an inch thick. Now on this product page, we do have a diagram with some additional measurements that I did not cover with you today. So if you are in need of some other measurements, you can find those on this product page with the diagram. This does meet or exceed FMVSS 108 standards.
