Question:

I will be purchasing a travel trailer with a 485 lb tongue weight and 3818 lb UVV. What weight rating should a new weight distribution hitch have? Thanks

Hey Jack, congrats on the new trailer! For a close to 500 lbs tongue weight, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ90-00-0600. This system works with tongue weights ranging from 200 lbs - 600 lbs so you'll be good if you weren't fully loaded or wanted to pack your trailer up differently. The sway control brackets mount from 27" - 32" back from the center of the coupler so you'll want to make sure you have space on yours at these locations.

What model trailer are you getting?

Hey Jack, how did things go with the Equal-i-zer weight distribution hitch for your new trailer? Did the 600 lb tongue weight range end up being a good match for your setup? Your feedback could help others choosing a hitch for a similar trailer size.
