Updated 01/05/2026 | Published 09/16/2024

Question:

I have a 1998 31 Minnie Winnie. Has the triton v-10. I need a hitch that can pull a 26 race trailer with tongue weight of 2000 pounds. Have a welder that can install and brace as needed. What do you suggest? Thank you!

Hi Jason,

We have a couple of options for a trailer hitch with a 2,000 lb tongue weight capacity that you can have welded on. While there isn't anything specific for your '98 Minnie Winnie, you just need to measure your frame from outside to outside, as well as the amount of drop from the frame you need. Here are the options:

Frame Up To 44 Inches Wide
- 9 Inch Drop From Frame: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C37CR

- 18 Inch Drop From Frame: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C87CR

Frame Up To 62 Inches Wide
- 9 Inch Drop From Frame: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C97CR

- 18 Inch Drop From Frame: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C59CR

Each of these hitches have a 20,000 lb towing capacity and the 2,000 lb tongue weight capacity you were looking for.

Hey Jason, how did things go with the Curt Class 5 weld-on hitch for your Minnie Winnie? Were you able to get the right frame measurements for your setup? Your update could make it easier for others working on similar motorhomes.
