We bought this in 2024 for my 2019 Subaru Ascent (Premium). We've used it for hauling mountain bikes around Utah. We started with a 4-bike rack and upgraded to a 7-bike VelociRax. It was easy for my spouse to install and it has held up well.
This is a well made hitch. It is heavy duty. It fits great on my 2021 Subaru Ascent. I highly recommend to others who think their only option is to spend a lot more at the dealership. This hitch works great and can be purchased at a very reasonable price. The best part is that it is super easy to install. I recommend watching the installation video so you can get familiar with the procedure.

One year later and I’m still happy with the product. We’ve had zero issues using it to haul bicycles and other items.
Delivered when I was told. Easy installation with video aid for hitch and wiring. Definitely look your way again when in need of a hitch and harness.
First hitch receiver ive ever installed and it couldn't have been easier. The video walks you through the steps. I broke the 2 push snaps that are near the top of the wheel wells.
I love that a product that was engineered to mount using the existing bumper’s studs and bolt holes was available and affordable. Easy to install following the steps provided in the video. Happy that no clearance at the rear of the Ascent was lost.
Easy to assemble, etrailer YouTube instructions helps me a lot.

Heck yeah, this hitch is solid. I love to hear that. Just out of curiosity, what bike rack are you using?
So easy to put on. Followed the instructions in the video and went from start to finish in roughly 30 minutes.
Between my father and myself, we have put on a lot of hitches and receivers over the years him, especially and he made the statement. This was the easiest installation that he had ever had and I agreed. We put it on a 2025 Subaru ascent.
Have not used it yet but think it will be great. Installation was relatively easy and probably would have taken me about an hour if I wasn’t also chasing after a toddler. The video is very helpful, but something to note that I am not sure I saw - for Touring trims, the mudflap had two screws you also have to remove from inside the wheel well and the piece needs to be taken off to reveal a hidden fastener for the main fascia.
There was cosmetic damage to the powder coating upon unboxing. Nothing that was visible when the bumper was reinstalled, or would harm the structural integrity of the product. Install was super easy. I did it by myself with no issues.
Great hitch for my Subaru Ascent! Super easy to install without any crawling under the vehicle or drilling needed, although it was helpful having my 11 year old son with me to hold the bumper fascia steady when reinstalling it. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a hitch for their Ascent.
I've bought Curt hitches from etrailer for every vehicle I owned and this was no different. This is the first time I've purchased and installed this newer style (as opposed to mounting it under the vehicle) and I would NEVER go back if I had the option. This was the easiest install of all time. Quite honestly, removing your bumper is the only part that requires any effort, and still, I had the bumper off, the hitch installed, and the bumper back on in less than an hour, including installing the wiring harness.
I bought it to be able to utilize the Ascent's 5000lb towing capacity, but right now, it's being used for the cargo carrier in my pictures. Couldn't be happier with how it all went. Also, I don't know how necessary it is, but I purchased a torque wrench for this install to be sure I was tightening to manufacturers specifications for peace of mind, which I'd recommend.
Bonus: This got to me in only a few days after ordering, and shipping was free. Can't beat that!

The hitch came in with the load tag on upside down. With a new hitch on a week old car etrailer offered zero options. All I wanted was a label.
This could not have been easier. I’m so glad I didn’t pay someone to install this. Great quality product. The instructions were clear and made for a smooth install. The only thing I forgot was the electrical wiring but I called customer service and Joshua K was extremely helpful in directing me to the harness I would need.
Very impressed it came the next day and fit right together, the only thing I would ask for if they could include some plastic Fender Clips, they never come apart in one piece.
Quality Curt construction once again— so you can imagine my surprise when something didn’t line up. It wasn’t on Curt’s end once I did some digging, so if you hit a snag, you’re one of the few unlucky Subaru drivers like me.
Thomas at eTrailer got me in touch with Curt and we worked it out fast and headache free.
Install was very straight forward. It only took me about an hour, video was very easy to follow. Everything fit perfectly and it’s great that the hitch is hidden when not needed on my 2022 Subaru Ascent Touring. Great quality and price!

Weve been using this bike rack for almost two years now. Its held up well carrying up to 7 bikes at a time. If I had to choose again, I would pick this hitch receiver.
